The Old Dark House (1932).

Boris Karloff as a brute, mostly mute butler for a creepy Welsh family steals the show.

Although Brember Wills as the mad oldest brother has the best part.

Could do with a modern take on the story, set again in Wales. The story would need a little fleshing-out and a bit more suspense/gore, though.

The perfect job for a director such as Robert Eggers.

Got a free ticket so went to see Shelter the latest Jason Statham film last night.

it was just the usual kind of Statham movie, maybe lacking a little bit of action but an easy watch.

Didn’t have to overthink it, just suspend my belief in reality a couple of times but a good way to spend Friday night.

Watched One Fight After Another last night. One of those where you probably know after 20mins it’s not for you and still have 2hr20mins to sit through. Some good performances, Sean Penn I’m looking at you, but the storyline, pacing and style just bored me to be honest.

Watched Anyone But You with Glenn Powell and Sydney Sweeney on Friday night. There were a few good laughs but it's a terrible film.

Just watched I Swear, a true story on Tourettes. Would highly recommend

Touching, funny, sad, heart-warming in equal measure.

The actor, Robert Aramayo plays it so well.

Amazon Prime and YouTube premium ppv.

Bit random this but I always have thought Clive Owen should have a far better career than what he had.

Nearly did with Bond, he supposedly held talks to play Bond for Casino Royale before Craig or the other actors that auditioned at the time. In fact what I read, Bond was offered to him on plate but something about he wouldn't commit to anymore than two films. Owen's career would have turned out so much different if he got that job.

Some British actors the likes of Liam Neeson, Jude Law, Colin Firth who all turned Bond down you could agree probably made the right move as none of then needed Bond on their CV, Owen on the other hand you look at his career and there's not many stand out movies for him.

I agree, Shame he's not more popular (for a Cov lad).

I'll always remember him for Inside Man, Sin City, the assassin's role in Bourne Identity – and the BMW The Hire short film series (especially the episode with Madonna, directed by Guy Ritchie). That should've been a proper series or a movie even.

Also not a man for scandals – married to the same woman for 30+ years now.

That's a decent take, I did not know that. I looked at Clive's films on IMDB and they were mostly duds,  he had a semi decent spell in mid 2000s but that is it.  I don't know if the issue is Clive's choices or his agent or he is just not on the same level as elite actors.

I have heard he's picky about his projects, think he was offered a role in Star Wars the Rogue One story, think he was offered the part that Ben Daniels got. Didn't want to become part of Star Wars franchise. I think he feared even though it was a small role all he would asked about or talk about would be Star Wars for the rest of his career. When you look back at his career though what movie could really talk about what he's been in.

I’ve started watching movies without watching the trailers - so much better as they give away the whole story these days.

Black Phone - absolutely brilliant if you go in with no expectations. One of the better modern horror movies I’ve seen.

The Housemaid - not what I expected at all, pretty good to be fair.

Just brilliant, a masterpiece with two fantastic actors on how relationships evolve once the butterflies are gone. Very charming.

The dialogue, the editing, the choreography (Stanley Donen), the music (Henry Mancini), the cars. Holds up well after nearly 60 years.

I think he has appeared in some stand out films such as Close My Eyes, Croupier and Children of Men for example. I have personally always found him a bit wooden, but his career has been pretty decent overall.  Shame he supports Liverpool!

It is but Sydney Sweeney wears there little in it so it’s not all bad.

Scream 7 is out Friday.
Not sure what they are going to do with Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera not being in it.

I doubt they care as long as it takes enough money to keep churning them out.
