They got a small round of applause. Thought they’d have walked the trophy round the ground but didn’t. An interview with Ian Holland and that’s about it.

I don't know if it was just me but it wasn't well advertised, I didn't know about it until it happened which was a shame.

I'm not the biggest cricket fan by any means but enjoy going to Grace Road and following the Foxes so as Bert says would've hoped they'd walk round the ground and milk the applause but that didn't happen which was a shame.

I always remember Mark Selby winning a world title, doing a lap of honour, different levels I know but still...

Shame. They did a lap for the One Day Cup and that was brilliant.

As mentioned by someone earlier in the thread, Kimber has joined Northants

I get why he has been let go, I find him so frustrating tbh, he us no captain. Id still have kept him on though, in white ball cricket can still pull his weight, decent spinner aswell. I think he is more use to us in the locker than Tatersall will be.

Quick mention of ex-Fox John Maunders on Cricinfo today, who's carving out a successful career as a coach. He worked closely with potential next-big-thing from down under (Hugh Weibgen) over the summer; here's a snippet.

"Weibgen did not quite escape the spotlight entirely during an English summer where he played for Sunbury Cricket Club in the Surrey Premier League. It's hard to go unnoticed when you pile up 1307 runs at 72.61, with five centuries, striking at 105.92 for the summer.

But he also made waves on social media when England quick Gus Atkinson was sent back to the Surrey League to get some overs in coming back from injury ahead of a Test return against India. Video quickly circulated of Weibgen driving him for four down the ground with ease on his way to one of his five centuries.

Weibgen credits Sunbury coach John Maunders, former Middlesex and Leicestershire batter, with his development across the season.

"He was brilliant for me," Weibgen said. "I lived with a really good family that was just 100 metres from the club. Each day I walked over and got to work with the coach. I also learned to balance things out a bit more, have some fun."

This is just down the road from me. Must make a trip down there next summer.

I've heard rumours Surrey are interested in Rehan! 😫

If they want to buy him out of his contract and pay him more than we could ever do then there’s very little we can do. I don’t think Surrey would be a good fit for him but they’re the biggest county by a mile. It would be a step up for him. We will survive just fine.

Rehan getting a central contract should hopefully be enough to keep him here! Good that Hull has got something too! A great day for the club and its academy.

Yes, probably a lot more than we could pay him on a county contract. Hull get about £70k on a development contract, in addition to his county wages.

Pretty much staves off any other county taking him if they have a central contract is that right?

I think Buttler left Somerset while under a central contract but generally it’s a bit of extra money on top of his England contract.

I thought he already had a central contract?

Potentially a a factor in us keeping hold of him.

No reason for him to leave this year now- guaranteed a top order spot, playing Div 1, experienced world-class spinner to learn from.
