davieG Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 How would we go about this? Can we order him through Harrods and have some Papperazi to snap MM and MA ordering him from the catalogue? More like the Argos catalogue Both looking happy when they sit at the same table at the press conference and more importantly body language from both of them that clearly shows that the disagreemwnt is all over and done with. We need to see the same two people we saw at the open evening.
Ric Flair Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 More like the Argos catalogueBoth looking happy when they sit at the same table at the press conference and more importantly body language from both of them that clearly shows that the disagreemwnt is all over and done with. We need to see the same two people we saw at the open evening. Absolutely. I get the feeling, that Mandaric won't be happy with the media storm that's taking place and will be inclined to not take the bait and release a statement in response to a story that is idiotic. I'm not doubting there might have been a big bust up, but i've never known a manager to get the sack purely on the back of not agreeing to a transfer. Mandaric has already said he backed Allen over the JFH affair. I think they'll possibly clash again in future, it happens all over the country in businesses. But although Mandaric is known to be ruthless, he's a fair man and only get's rid of managers if they are getting results. He's made managers resign due to his antics, but he hasn't ever sacked any for anything other than failure to get results.
Flynny Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 Looks like the deal for Riordan's off too. Oh dear.
Wilkesy Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 Allen is favourite for the Championship sack race at 7/2
filbertway Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 Yeah, a vote of confidence from the chairman always puts rumours to rest! Saying all this is rubbish is hardly a vote of confidence.

Flynny Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 Saying all this is rubbish is hardly a vote of confidence. It amounts to the same thing. Surely you know the drill by now? 1. Idiotic press rumours circulate. 2. Chairman says rumours are tosh. 3. Media report chairman's words as evidence that the manager is under pressure 4. Increasing press speculation makes the manager ACTUALLY under pressure. After this it either abates, or the manager resigns, or after a few bad games gets the boot. And then the media all come out with stories about how managers are sacked too easily these days!
wurmer Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 BBC are quoting 'deal' is off... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...tic/6942124.stm
edmundo Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 Allen is favourite for the Championship sack race at 7/2 First post - saw Gary McAllister on Market Street today - is he currently employed? Could MM be interviewing replacements? Was he just here for Fenwicks?
Geo V Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 First post - saw Gary McAllister on Market Street today - is he currently employed?Could MM be interviewing replacements? Was he just here for Fenwicks? Get Gary Mac in the backroom staff. If he can teach our midfielders to pass like he used to at Filbo we`ll win the league by 20 points
Tevez Posted 20 August 2007 Posted 20 August 2007 Boring, these disagreements. Between Allen and Mandaric. First Jimmy Floyd now Riordan. I didn't particulary want Riordan becuase of his antics off the field, and i've not seen him play for Celtic or Hibs. But i know what Hasslebainks capable of doing, and he will laugh over the championship. It's starting to piss me off, and it's only 2 games in (1 Carling Cup). Not good, i really don't want this all season.
Vennegoor10 Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 both big characters in their own way, you can see a fair few more disagreements down the line too, not looking too helpful at the moment.
Raj Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 Atleast with Allen,Mandaric knows he hasn't got a Yes man. If Allen Doesn't like something Manderic has done or recommended,Allen will let him know. Mandaric must have done his research into the type of Personality/character Allen has,and must have known he wasn't getting a puppy who would just say "Yes Sir' to everything he says. However,Allen must also take into account that after all, manderic is the Chairman and the owner of LCFC so he must know not to push him too much! ........ Allen will be gone by October!!!!!!
BigGibbo Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 i just choose to turn a deaf ear to it until a rumour is actually founded i believe its healthy for a manager to argue his corner with the chairman it shows he has character in rather being out of a job than being a puppet
Daggers Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 Half of me thinks this is just tabloid paragraph filler, 50% of me thinks that it's all stuff and nothing while the rest of me wonders what happened to accurate use of maths in posting.
Geo V Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 If there is any truth to these rumours and MM sacks MA quite quickly, he`d be a muppet! You cant back a manager to make so many changes and then change your mind and bring someone new in who may not fancy half the squad that has just been put together! Them again, it may be the best sure fire way of selling Nielsen and citing the reasons as being that the new manager thinks he`s shite
Monk Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 I dont believe a word of it, not for a second. Milan is a shrewd businessman, he must realise that the overall effect on performance of changing manager this soon would be negative. I expect that yes, they had an arguament over the JFH affair, MM had a few stern words to say, MA goes back to the training ground and gets on with training.
shiv Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 It's been 2 games FFS! Give him a chance. Neil Warnock sounds tempting though, I always wanted him as manager from the start. neil warnock is a dick! how can u say that after wot he said about us wen we went into admin!?!?
l444ry Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 neil warnock is a dick! how can u say that after wot he said about us wen we went into admin!?!? Not particularly a Warnock lover myself but everybody seemed to accept that diving little sh** Speedie when he came here.
Webbo Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 Not particularly a Warnock lover myself but everybody seemed to accept that diving little sh** Speedie when he came here. Only through gritted teeth. Does anyone think that maybe MM got a bit upset with MA and placed these stories in the press just to put the wind up him?
l444ry Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 Only through gritted teeth.Does anyone think that maybe MM got a bit upset with MA and placed these stories in the press just to put the wind up him? I suggested the very same thing yesterday. There has to be some substance to the stories. Thankfully, it looks like the end of the whole affair now.
samlcfc1 Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 it just seems like the chairman wants to manage the team it happens at a few clubs
BartonFox Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 There is no f'cking rift, never was. Martin Allen was completely vindicated in his decision not to sign Hasselbaink, who took 5 days after signing for Cardiff to turn up. The fact MM also went straight out and backed MA for a left back and a goalie tells you he isn't about to give him the bumsrush. The more f'ckwits that talk about it the longer this nothing story is going to hang around.

FilboFox Posted 22 August 2007 Posted 22 August 2007 If we sack Allen and bring in Roeder, which is the rumor on the BBC, then it will be the biggest mistake that we have made since Peter (the ****wit) Taylor. We have a new team trying to gel under his management style, getting rid of him would leave us all over the place! Also, Roeder isn't that good at all! He did badly at West Ham, badly at Newcastle and I'm pretty damn sure that he'd do badly here too! It should be the MANAGER that decides what players get to come to the club and NOT the chairman so Milan can go **** himself for all I care! If he sacks Allen then I'll be all for us starting a "Get Milan Out" thread!
