The silly bint interviewer on Sky Sports asked them to do it and because Ryan and Rob are nice accommodating chaps, they did.

But yeah, a bit cringe and unnecessary (although I love the way Ryan picked them up and dusted them down afterwards - what a gent)

Lol, they absolutely loved and revelled in it. They’re yanks.
These are genuine A-listers, they’re a long way from doing something so weird because a part time host on a British sports channel asked them too

Ryan Reynolds is Canadian. Don't offend him.

But I was watching fox and friends this morning and some very trustworthy looking newsreaders were telling me Canada and Greenland is part of the great US of A

Bit indifferent to the Wrexham owners - won’t defend or support them and not sure why anyone outside of Wrexham should get their knickers in a twist about them either :dunno:

Happy to admit my antipathy to Wrexham is irrational, but there is definitely a type of fan (late 30s early 40s centrist Dad type, big Americanophile) who bristles at any perceived criticism of the club  despite having absolutely no connection to them at all. I was discussing their rise with a work colleague at the pub on Friday and mentioned they had spent a bit of money to which my interlocuter reacted by angrily reaching for his league table of division three net spenders which he'd saved on his phone and reeling off all the things 'Rob and Ryan' had done for the community. Like sorry I said mean things about your favourite action film actor bro.

I think we still like the notion of our sports teams achieving through hard work and creativity rather than just having money chucked at it. It is rubbish because moneyed clubs have been around since the game began.

If they care about the club then great. The genuine fans have had years of misery and are relishing the current times. But others cannot stand overly positive narratives too (We were certainly not universally popular when winning the title).

It will calm down soon when they hit their ceiling.

Apart from today when I was quite happy for the oil money to defeat the trees

You're right. I think that very North American can-do positivity and 'aw shucks' forced humbleness is quite grating in cynical old England. Give me straightforwardly evil oil-rich Arabs any day.

Also, they don't represent all Jews (indeed a very small proportion of them) and there are many disparate views of what is going on amongst the Jewish people - unfortunately people are easy to persuade that other races or creeds speak as one, which is demonstrably not the case, as it isn't within our own culture. I have Jewish friends from childhood who now refuse to speak to me because I am of Jewish background but hold the 'wrong' views.

Sadly, this perception is encouraged by certain Bodies and Councils, which is not only arrogant and presumptive, but highly dangerous too.

Like everywhere else the hard right seem to be the loudest and most powerful voices at the moment.  I also have a lot of sympathy with non-Israeli Jewish people who feel personally attacked and unsupported by many.  Its a very emotionally not necessarily logical thing.  No one (at least no one without a nasty agenda anyway) logically wants what has happened, yet on both sides its almost impossible to see a calm sensible way out.

You can't trust positive people.  FACT.

Yeh defo agree with this. No idea why anyone outside of Wrexham or the clubs they are directly competing with would have strong love or hate for them. If they get more successful more people will hate them, right now they're a cute and lovable story for the types of people of watch Britain's got talent.

It's interesting how they nail the 'done so much in the community' marketing line so well. A lot of owners do... the Abu Dhabi lot have completely transformed East Manchester into something actually nice.

You've got a proper bee in your bonnet about anything American, haven't you?

Toilets for customer use only. Inhumane.

Unfortunately people take the piss (literally) and can be pretty vile in toilets, leaving a trail of destruction behind.

It's why councils refuse to keep spending endless amounts of money repairing them before they're destroyed again.

Why should businesses make their toilets open for all and sundry, exposing them to an even greater risk of them being trashed, the need to maintain them and, as a result, actual paying customers potentially being put off from using the establishment cos the public can't be trusted.

Of course paying customers might be as bad as the main wandering in off the street, and tbh I'd be in support of it being allowed if government or local authorities gave incentives to companies that keep them open, so the increased maintenance costs are absorbed.

Until then let private businesses operate as they wish.
