The Stig Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 I'll always have a lot of respect for Iain Hume, I hope he recovers from this and gets back to his best. Get well Hume.
The People's Hero Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 Had two seperate goes at Hume.1st one Hume laid on ground for a minute or so, Morgan stood over him mouthing on. 2nd time he connected clean with the elbow and again he fell straight to floor. Ref bottled it because 2 minutes earlier had sent the other CB off. Never really liked him.... but it's a nasty nasty injury and Morgan is a thug. Wish him a full and speedy recovery.
Ric Flair Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 Not sure if this guy is still popular at your place, but following an incident during the Barnsley Vs Sheff U game this weekened he is currently in a high dependency unit following emergency surgery yesterday lunch. He is suffering from a broken skull. Got a lot of time for Hume, the only relatively clean piece of bog roll that could be found in the toilet of Leicester City in the past few years.
Uncle Monty Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,1...4482251,00.html Nasty
Monk Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 Ouch. Get well soon Hume. Sounds awful. Just think, never would have happened if you'd kept your word!
Big Bad Fox Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 terrible news hope he does recover and play again this season
Ashley Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 I read about this earlier, get well soon Hume.
The People's Hero Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 I can't believe there are only four threads about this? I thought you all loved him?
Matt Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 Seen as a 'villain' by some, but all that banter put aside no one would wish this on anyone, Get well soon Hume.
Corky Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 Got a lot of time for Hume, the only relatively clean piece of bog roll that could be found in the toilet of Leicester City in the past few years. That's one way of putting it.
Thracian Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 Had two seperate goes at Hume.1st one Hume laid on ground for a minute or so, Morgan stood over him mouthing on. 2nd time he connected clean with the elbow and again he fell straight to floor. Ref bottled it because 2 minutes earlier had sent the other CB off. If what you say is true there should be an inquiry. The referee should be made to answer serious questions about his actions, and so should the other player involved. Seems to me that referees are pedantic to the point of annoyance about players having two feet on the ground for throw-ins and they'll step out 10 yards for free kicks in very authoritarian style. But as soon as it comes to dealing with important matters, including serious foul play and applying the law fairly and consistently for such things, they sometimes seem more concerned about the effect on the balance of the game or crowd reaction than making the right decision. The sooner they can call on video evidence to help them the better. We only had to go back to our own referee on Saturday to remember how awful they are. And I don't just mean about the penalties he refused to give. There were a whole string of important decisions he seemed to get wrong and the kindest thing I can say about him is that he didn't seem to have a clue. Referees are already over-protected which wouldn't matter much if they did their job properly but they don't because part of their job is dealing with thugs and ensuring that the game is played safely, which clearly wasn't the case at Barnsley. Best of luck Humey. You were a 100 per center at City and I hope that spirit soon sees you back on the mend and, hopefully, back playing football.
Koke Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 Hume always gave 100% here, and I'll always have respect for him. I hope he recovers quickly and that son of a thug Chris Morgan should get the book thrown at him. The ref also needs done. Whatever happened to the protection of players.

I hope he recovers quickly and that son of a thug Chris Morgan should get the book thrown at him. The ref also needs done. Whatever happened to the protection of players. Respecting the ref is more important. Hmmmm and to think before this match Morgan would have shook Hume's hand to show respect, Where did that respect go?! Respect.
whitlock Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 Saw the challenge on SSN. What a dirty t**t that Morgan is. CLearly elbows hume, plays the header and then puts his arms up asif he'd done nothing wrong! Disgraceful. Hume maybe liked or disliked on here, but at the end of the day, the man has a fractured skull because of a dirty sheff utd twat. wouldnt wish that upon any player or person. Get well soon Humey boy.
Koke Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 Saw it on SSN as well. It's clearly a red card, it cannot get anymore blatant than that. Chris Morgan is thug, a cretin and a nasty piece of work. I hope he gets punished severely for this. Hume's career may be on the line here. I've seen Cech play with protective gear, but as an outfield player Hume cannot do that. I hope it's not as bad as first thought. I trust FA to do f-all. Ludicrous.
sdb Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 i'm pretty pessimistic about this. Get well soon please Iain. Morgan's always been a complete twat.
syston_fox Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 Best of luck to Hume - just hope he can recover from this fully.

Simon Davey got sent to the stands for complaining about a penalty decision. Expect him to get a harsher punishment than thugboy
lavrentis Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 This is bad news, wouldnt want this to happen to anyone.
