Sounds nothing like the bands you mention. Utterly ludicrous band - if you can call them that given that it's basically one bloke and some touring musicians. Completely ridiculous which teeters a fine line between tongue-in-cheek and straight-faced. Saying that, the 'nameless ghouls' are always superb musicians (even though the originals sued him). Come to think of it, as absurd as it is, he did to be fair do a brilliant rendition of Rocky Erickson's 'If You Have Ghosts' - which is that good, it's going on the covers thread immediately.

Well the album has got a 70's 80's hair rock vibe to it which makes it sound trashy. Not for everyone but still the  numbers suggest they are for plenty of people
