Guest MattP Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 Here you go: http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/tvandradioblog/2015/mar/11/jeremy-clarkson-suspended-eco-feminist-top-gear That is too funny, it's almost like they do it on purpose at the Grauniad these days (even the picture of her looks like the usual ugly, comfy shoe wearing feminist you imagine the building is full of), they've become a complete parody of themselves and don't even seem to notice. Surely people don't actually pay money to read this? If Clarkson did twat the bloke I hope it was a version of that little queer they took the piss out of on Extras at the BBC.

Sounds like Tomorrows world all over again. but seriously who really cares what happens to Clarkson?? The world will still turn, and I'll still be driving my knacker 11 year old Rover as I have no inclination (nor finances) to change my car.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 That article just feels like a giant troll and conforming to every stereotype people have of the Guardian. I'm a Gdn reader myself. Really like the paper and I know a lot don't but they really can't help themselves with the Clarkson story. There must have been well over 10 stories published now in different forms, facets and tones from them. They know it's reader cat nip and just keep hammering it home. I read it more than most papers, so can tell when they're taking the piss, and I think you're right, they're trolling. They get so much flak from Clarkson and his ilk you cannot really blame them for running with stuff like this, but I must admit I find it a bit boring because he's such an obvious target
Collibosher70 Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 Best thing on the bbc....why stop showing it on Sunday ? The only people who miss out are the license payers....they'll prob replace it a dull crime drama cus let's face it there's not enough of them is there

She's at least as good at reviewing cars at Clarkson, in that she actually describes what the car is like to drive. Actually, that makes her better at it, doesn't it? http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2015/feb/28/skoda-yeti-black-edition-car-review Bloody feminists, coming over here, driving our cars and commenting on their characteristics and attributes. it's political correctness gone mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad

Of course she's better than Clarkson - she's a feminist so case closed, I know about real life,I read the Guardian and live in Hackney. I'm a modern woman as well just like Elton John.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 One player isn't bigger than the team. (I am now off to post this same sentiment in several Leicester City Forum threads.)
Carl the Llama Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 I had an i8 in front of me on the way to work the other day. The car must be shit cause the fvcker wouldn't go above 40 in a 50 zone.
BoneDog Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 How do the BBC make money from Top Gear? I might be being thick but I thought they get their billions from license fees. Didn't know they make money in other ways too, the sons of bitches.
Jaspa Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 How do the BBC make money from Top Gear? I might be being thick but I thought they get their billions from license fees. Didn't know they make money in other ways too, the sons of bitches. They sell merchandise in magazines, DVDs, books, branding, shows and even video games like Forza. Then add in that the BBC sells the rights to the show to different networks to be aired in hundreds of counties at a premium. I dont see why people are saying the show will be moved or snapped up from the BBC, Clarkson isnt Top Gear; they'll surely just get someone else in
Vlad the Fox Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 How do the BBC make money from Top Gear? I might be being thick but I thought they get their billions from license fees. Didn't know they make money in other ways too, the sons of bitches. Once a year they take all the money from license fees down the casino and lump it all on black. If it comes in we get cutting edge drama and elite sport. If it doesn't we get repeats, reality TV and Dale Winton.
sphericalfox Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 I've thought the presenters for Top Gear needed a refresh about 3-4 years ago. Clarkson is slowly turning into a Fast Show sketch. Trolling the nation with against the grain humour, politics, and opinions. He's the BBC Moosey, and like our own resident has come back numerous times and resorted back to type. I'd be very surprised that the reason internationally people tune in is Clarkson regardless of the stupid petition doing the rounds. Top Gear is a slickly filmed and edited programme, with a fairly significant budget, that can draw decent vehicles to be showcased for their various skits or review. If another presenter was in his place, it'd still be a slickly made programme. It's time to move on.
Voll Blau Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 Just out of interest, how far would people be prepared to let Clarkson go before they stopped watching him (in relation to his alleged behaviour). Beating up a producer? Running them over? If it's proved he did hit a work colleague, I fail to see how anyone can defend his actions and blame the BBC.

promised land Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 It looks like the Beeb have lost me to Dave. Which is owned by UKTV and BBC worldwide so they've not lost you.

Raj Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 Top gears been crap for years. Needs some young blood. Prefferebly sexy brunettes
Guest MattP Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 His humour, politics and opinions are in no way 'against the grain'. They are in Spherical Fox's World. This is a man who believes mine and Moosebreaths political opinions are so obscene and rare we are trolling every time we post.

I've used these words or made these implications that every time you post you're trolling? Interesting reality you occupy. You and Moosey's political opinions have nothing to do with your trolling.
MooseBreath Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 I think there's two types of people in this debate. Those who like Clarkson and those who were bullied at school have never got over it.
Sir Fynwy Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 I think there's two types of people in this debate. Those who like Clarkson and those who were bullied at school have never got over it.I really dislike Clarkson and was an absolute bastard at school, Clarkson is the sort I'd have gone out of my way to **** over at school. Meeting him only clarified my dislike.
Jimmy Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 latest is he didn't punch him but held a fist up during a heated exchange, the more that comes out the more it sounds like a mountain out of a molehill situation, only thing that is certain is that a lot of fleet street types are desperate to bring down Clarkson and will jump at everything as he doesn't subscribe to the victim mentality that seems to be every growing in this country, people complain to ofcom because they don't like storylines of soaps ffs the biggest clue is the fact he's joking around about it, if there was a real thing I doubt he would be
