shanevans Posted 10 March 2010 Posted 10 March 2010 Good news, right? http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/James-Vaughan-joins-Leicester-Derby-furious-as-Foxes-steal-Everton-striker-on-loan-article350797.html
whitlock Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 i'd take him, just to piss Derby off really. Not a bad player, room for improvement, bit similar to waggers tho?
Jimothy Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 Great news. He's obviously a decent striker, he's just had a few injury knock backs. Plus we nicked him off Derby which makes it sweeter!
StanSP Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 He's quite injury prone: Severed Artery on his foot: 2 knee cartilage problems. Another knee problem. Dislocated shoulder.
Craig Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 If this is true, fantastic. Always rated him, no doubt he'd be an asset to our promotion push.
dogadug Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 We've got the Premier Leagues youngest ever scorer in our squad !
Basingstoke Fox Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 Happy with this, abit of extra firepower up front and we've annoyed Derby . Haven't seen him play though so I'll reserve me judgement for now.
lcfcsnow Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 http://www.inthenews.co.uk/sports/football/sport/features/england-cub/england-watch-%E2%80%93-james-vaughan-$452426.htm Written 4 years ago, shame how his career developed. If anyone can sort it out though, Pearson can! Pleased
MPH Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 loving the idea of annoying Derby. If we can get him fit and KEEP him fit, it will be a cracking signing!!
Tommeh Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 Very tidy news this. Winner at Sheep Park please James.
Jaspa Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 This is great news in my opinion. I remember him first off Fifa 06 i think. The best striker to buy in bar Bojan and Rooney to buy on manager mode. But in real life he looked great for Everton, scored a few decent goals and looked energetic and had a good finnish on him. And lastly it looks like DJ is on the way out and off the wag bill, IF we get Vaughan that probably will be determined by is form, if hes too good hes gone back to Everton especially IF we dont get up or make the play-offs. Very pleased though, lets hope Pearson work pulls off and we have a potential premiership quality player.
Guest DavidJCW Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 Has he actually signed then!?! If so that's fantastic news! He's still a very good goal-scorer so could well add that extra bit of firepower up front... creates more competition for places amongst the regular front men too as Howard really wasn't much of a threat to Waghorn and Gallagher.
ACF Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 I wont believe it until its on the OS, even if I have to wait for a month or two.
Darkzzz_ Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 Good news if true. He certainly has the ability and we can only benefit from this.
ozleicester Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 Bah! .... i wont believe it until i read it on Stringers twitter
MC Prussian Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 Has this been confirmed yet? Hope he has overcome his injury history. If so, cracking signing - but I do wonder what we need another striker for... Midfield would need some strengthening even more so, wouldn't it?
Sly Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 Bah! .... i wont believe it until i read it on Stringers twitter According to Stringer, rumours state today?
Jimmy Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 i'd take him, just to piss Derby off really. Not a bad player, room for improvement, bit similar to waggers tho? nah he's better then Waghorn, also he's played a fair amount of Prem/European games despite his injuries
MikeyT Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 Aye good signing if this turns out to be true. Fingers crossed.
Matt Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 If it is true it'll be even sweeter if he scored against Derby later this month! I can't say i've seen too much off him, but always heard about him, and presumed he was fairly good and well respected, when I have seen bits of him playing he's been good, i'd be happy with this signing.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 Not a bad player, Got a fair number of premiership games under his belt. Will be a good signing if it happens.
davieG Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 City Swoop For Vaughan Posted on: Thu 11 Mar 2010Leicester City are expected to sign striker James Vaughan from Everton on a month long loan deal. City have the option to extend the deal to the end of the season. Vaughan, 21, has struggled with injuries since becoming the Premier League's youngest ever goal scorer netting on his debut against Crystal Palace in April 2005 aged just sixteen. The Birmingham born forward joined Derby County on loan earlier in the season but made only two appearances before returning to Everton with a torn cartliage. Vaughan marked his return from injury with two goals in as many games, scoring in the wins over Burnley and Carlisle. Vaughan has made appearances for both the England U-19 and England U-21 teams, and was a substitute in Everton's FA Cup final defeat against Chelsea in May 2009.
