Dr The Singh Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 You can't beat a bit of the cat burger! Quality poster. That's why he's my boyfriend!!!! any chance bert? No, he's taken, he is also one of my lovers!!
Bellend Sebastian Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 Back of the Mercury: "CITY RULE OUT MOVE FOR KOREN" Something something held talks with agent something something no official approach made something something something wages rumoured to be £20,000 a week something something more than double any of the other lot. Oh well
KFS Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 Would have been a nice signing, seems like Pearsons pissed on us again.
Collymore Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 20k is probably more than Blackpool could pay. A player who turns down premiership football football for money is better missed I think.
Toby or not Toby Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 Chosen between Hull and Blackpool is a hard decision though, there both horrible places. I think I would chose Hull purely because they were in the Premiership last season and have more of a chance of going up than Blackpool have staying up.
Guest Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 Ah well. Let Dull have him for 20k a week The more I looked at the thread title the more I wanted to see a spy thriller 'Robert Koren: Free Agent'. Presumably this is still on?
Bert Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 Ah well. If we were that serious about getting him we'd have made an official approach.
Ricey Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 How can Hull afford 20k a week? They can't, they are falling for the same mistakes they made over the last two seasons by throwing money at the problem. I like Pearson and I wish him all the best, but I can't help wanting Hull to fail miserably to prove a point that you can't run a Football Club the way they do. You would have thought Pompey would have been enough of a warning.
Bert Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 Ah well. If we were that serious about getting him we'd have made an official approach.
Tommeh Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 In terms of midfield flair....... Cat Burger > Robert Koren
MikeyT Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/sport/city-rule-Koren/article-2513602-detail/article.html Leicester City have missed out on signing Slovenian captain Robert Koren. The 29-year-old midfielder was on the radar of City boss Paulo Sousa, who made an unofficial approach for the former West Bromwich Albion midfielder. However, Koren's agent, Zoran Krneta, said City did not make an official approach, although he confirmed he had held talks with City. Krneta said Koren, who was one of his country's best performer's during this summer's World Cup, was due to sign for his new club last night or today, although he would not confirm which club he had chosen or even whether he would stay in English football. Premier League Blackpool and Hull City were linked with Koren, as were Celtic and Spanish outfit Real Sociedad, but Italian Serie A side Cesena have emerged as favourites. Koren, who is a free agent after leaving the Hawthorns, was on good money at West Brom and Krneta hinted that City chairman Milan Mandaric was not prepared to match his wage demands, rumoured to be as much as £20,000 a week. That is thought to be double what City pay their highest-paid player. "We had an unofficial approach but there is no chance of him going to Leicester," said Krneta. "He is going to sign for another big club, but I cannot say who that is yet. We never had an official offer from Leicester." Sousa said on Monday that Koren was the type of player he is looking to recruit to strengthen his squad. "He can play in two different positions – as a wide man and inside. He shoots from outside (the box), right foot and left," he told BBC Radio Leicester. "He has a good understanding of the game, is a good passer and makes good decisions. I would like to have him." Sousa added that he had plenty of other targets in mind. "I would like to add something, yes," he said. "But not too much because we don't need many. We need to add something different to what we have already to give us the competition and intensity. "We need to show all the players we have in the squad respect when we go through these details."
Alexikokopops Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 Too expensive. Exactly. He's a good player, but £20k a week is a bit obscene.
Ashley Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 I thought Hull had a transfer embargo anyway? Since when? They signed Bostock and Harper last week.
Guest Bilo Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 "We had an unofficial approach but there is no chance of him going to Leicester," said Krneta. "He is going to sign for another big club, but I cannot say who that is yet. We never had an official offer from Leicester." Rules Hull out surely. Actually with Hull needing to cut their wage bill badly, I doubt they can realistically afford him. Cesena or Celtic are probably fairly likely. The Mowbray connection (Lennon worked under Mowbray prior to his sacking) may make the latter likely. Since when? They signed Bostock and Harper last week. Bostock on loan and Harper on a free. Probably on modest wages as well.

Fox 4 Life Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 Its Bull because Bostock is there! Bostock is there on loan. Either way he isn't coming here if he wants 20k per week!!
J.Lisemore Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 i can't believe so many people actually thought this would happen...
Walshy5 Posted 11 August 2010 Posted 11 August 2010 Why is it that whenever we,re linked with a player who we all really want it never happens
