StanSP Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 True legend of comedy died today, aged 95. Used to love watching him. Comedy and slapstick at its best. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-11473192 Rest in peace.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 Truely gutted at the news, I spent many an afternoon giggling away watching Ernie and his milkfloat. I trust the people of Albania will call a national day of morning? Oh and how did you get that in so quickly - it was only annouced on the news a minute ago!

Finnegan Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 fooking great innings. The word legend is often overused but proper top marks.
Guest Bilo Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 Genuine British hero of comedy and I was saddened to hear this tonight. Still manages to look funny even today and a bloody active man right up until his last five years. RIP Sir Norman.
jonthefox Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 sad news. I grew up pissing myself laughing at him. Rip norm
Lillehamring Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 we haven't produced many of his class for many years. any young posters on here who aren't sure should check out his movies. good knock, norman, thanks for the laughs.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 Very sad news. RIP. Would it be the wrong time to mention that I have my first hit on my celeb deathlist?
ozleicester Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 Sad loss... i grew up with watching/listening to Norman..and even had a record.... "naughty".......... classic comedy
foxoffderby Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 Charlie Chaplin once said Norman Wisdom is the only actor who could take his place in film.
purpleronnie Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 Never found him funny but its very sad news.
MC Prussian Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 Never heard of him before. Reminds me a bit of Jerry Lewis, only less agitated and a bit drier in terms of sense of humour.
Filbert_Ross Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 when I seen his picture, I thought- oh thats not who I thought he was. I thought Norman Wisdom was Frankie Howard. ha
Webbo Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 He only made 1 good film, the square peg, I think. I always found him a bit mawkish.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 Thought he was hilarious as a kid, less so as an adult (me, not him), but you can see his influences everywhere and you can't deny him his place in the pantheon of comic greats. Top bloke by all accounts - sadly missed.
Messi Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 What a hero, watched all of his movies, got most of em on DVD. True legend of comedy! Rest In Peace Norman
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Norman Wisdom was my idol. I have all his films on DVD, and just loved the guy. A truly sad loss, and the end of an era. God Bless you Norman.
surrifox Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 What's Peter Taylor going to do now ? Junior Lewis impressions (with hilarious consequences)
