Simmo86 Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 With four games in 8 days, I believe this period could set the tone for the rest of our season. With 4 decent results we'll move closer to the playoffs but on the other hand poor results will leave us looking over our shoulder! Im going to be optimistic and go for 2 home wins and 2 away draws. Whats everybody else thinking
nickelbyfox Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Agreed think 3 wins could really push us up the table and make us a much better prospect for any possible recruits!!!
I am Rod Hull Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Every game is important at the moment, but yes, 4 good results wouldn't hurt
Jackirius Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 2 Home wins, 1 Away win/loss. If we can take 8/9 points that will be a big boost.
Wymsey Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 i reckon we will get two points with us losing against Leeds (just) and Millwall. Squad will be too unsettled with Bruno wanting to go and Fryatt speaking to Hull before the new year.
zubi Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 I think we will probably get 7 points from 12 Two home wins, away draw and defeat.
ScouseFox Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Leeds - D Mill - D Hull - W Swansea - L 5/12pts.
ajthefox Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 I rekon we'll get either 7 or 9 points, and fingers crossed cement a top half position and close down the play-offs. It's so tight though you just don't know what will happen, although I don't think we'll ever be seriously worried about looking over our shoulders.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 I think we really must go unbeaten in all the games, picking at least a point up in the away games. Ideally, I'd like to see 3 straight wins, that would give us confidence going into the New Year.
Thracian Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Not optimistic at all. I think we'll lose to Hull and Millwall and might gather as few as three points from the four games. The place is sounding too much like a sodding circus to me and there'll be more comings and goings than at a brothel in the New Year.
ozleicester Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Leeds - Win 2-0 Mill - Draw 1-1 Hull - Win 2-1 Swansea - draw 0-0 8 points.... and the playoffs in sight
FoxyPV Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Between 7-9 points would be great and anything over that is a bonus. If we win our two home games, I'd happily take a draw and a loss on the road (although I'll foolishly hope for much more).
lestajigs Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 leeds w 2.1 millwall L 2.0 HULL L 1.0 SWANSEA W 2.0 SAME ROUTINE WIN HOME LOOSE AWAY!!!
dannythefox Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 If we want to jump up the league early in the ny then we really need 3wins and a draw to set the ball rolling, we have no choice were getting to far behind we've played two more games than some others now. Surely the second half of the season carnt be as bad as the first?
Salieri Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 I'd say the January transfer window is more of a 'season defining period', gonna be plenty of activity and Sven has got to get it right.
Daggers Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 4 points. Massive introspection and wailings that more dramatic changes need to take place followed by a slow dawning realisation that promotion is not happening this season.
JimmyB Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 I reckon I'd take any 2 wins from these 4. Fear we might struggle though. 6 points would see us comfortably in mid table and ready for a big push once Sven gets to spend some Thai Bahts, Or at least that's what i'm hoping!
Messi Posted 23 December 2010 Posted 23 December 2010 I think we need to be aiming for at least 9 points to make sure were in or around the play-offs. This way it will be more attractive when it comes to signing players in the transfer window.
hairy Posted 23 December 2010 Posted 23 December 2010 I'm with Thracian on this one and I dont mean the brothel part. I expect to see far more threads calling for Sven's head in the New Year just to annoy me even more.
MC Prussian Posted 23 December 2010 Posted 23 December 2010 Well, this is the time of the year for the team to show its true colors. Up to this point, the main consistency was our bloody inconsistency and I don't expect us to deviate from that path, sadly. Too often, we've seen top-notch displays and well-deserved results at home, only to be bitterly disappointed with the way things were going away from the Walkers. As long as the players can't get it in their head that away games are as crucial as the home ones, or probably even more important with the state this league is in right now, we'll witness the regular drop in form again. What this club needs is stability (partly found in financial terms, the sportive ways are still beyond a joke at times) and consistency. I'd say our main issue stems from the fact that the team can't perform consistently well - or even if some players can't provide the goods, there's hardly anyone being able to cover/replace them. To be honest, I'm a bit fed up with the kind of attitude some players have shown in the past few weeks. It's not just down to confidence, it's pure ignorance and a lack of trying. Hopefully, Sven, Derek and Chrissy P will have kicked them right up theirs and prepped them up properly for the busy schedule ahead. I'd love to see us going through the festive period undefeated, but something's telling me I've got to watch out for just another typical LCFC rocky rollercoaster ride.

Sven needs to get the right players in and move out those who need to be moved on, let the honest players go where they want and get whatever we can for the malcontents. Then he has to settle us down and get some consistency going, nothing else will do if we are to even be in with a shout for the playoffs.

I agree with you Dave but I don't think the transformation can take place in the remainder of this season. Next one perhaps!
The Doctor Posted 23 December 2010 Posted 23 December 2010 Leeds - W Mill - W Hull - D Swansea - W We should beat both leeds and swansea at home (playing well at home & we've got a quite good record at home to those two), mill i'd be happy with a draw from but we've got a better squad than them and should really be winning. Hull - who knows? A result against mill could well give us the confidence back on our travels, some might want to put one over their old manager while others may well be desperate to put in a good display to keep hold of a first team place with new signings on their way.
Bilbo Posted 24 December 2010 Posted 24 December 2010 Leeds - Win- 1 - 0 Millwall - Lose- 0 - 3 Hull - Draw- 0 - 0 Swansea - Lose- 0 - 2 It's going to be tough but with Leeds and Swansea at home at least we can have a good go.
