How many crypto-currency products are there?

Just read that there's one called a 'Hawkcoin' after that ''Hawk Tuah'' lady..

There is and it was a huge scam that she hasn't owned up to yet. Basically everybody lost all their money apart from a select few pre-ordained people that sold all their currency with everyone else not able to do the same until it was practically worthless.

There's talk of class action lawsuits against her with lawyers vulturing round trying to gather up all the people that were scammed.

No walk across Braunstone Park is complete without a young (sometimes not so young) male (always) on a bike making a point of doing a wheelie as they ride past, seemingly for my benefit. Walked across there today for first time in a while, saw literally one other person - tick!

I've asked why this happens loads of times now and still nobody seems to know what it's about. Are they simply telling me that they have mastered the wheelie and are very proud of it? Maybe I look like someone that would be into bike trickery, but I doubt it. I must admit, I wouldn't be able to do one but isn't this the most basic of bike stunts? I can't believe they've not got anything better

Oh that's lucky as I couldn't help myself as I knocked him from his bike, dragged him into the bushes and I'm pretty sure made him believe all his Christmasses had come at once.

Glad I didn't misread the signs, imagine how awkward that would have been

Does anybody pay for the Ring doorbell subscription?

Set it up today, what a great piece of kit.

Comes with 30 day trial and already feel I can't do without the subscription features.

Yeah, on the basic as only got the one device. Great for vetting the Hello Fresh door knockers.

Would you cope in life well without this forum or social media being around in general?

I'd probably cope better tbh. I'd definitely be more productive.

This place is great but it's a constant distraction for me.

I think a lot of us are addicted to social media in general if we're honest.

Yes, I pay £7.99 a month for both the doorbell and the security cameras in the garden.

Seems like decent value to me. I’m surprised how good the video/audio quality is so think we’ll probably sign up to this too.

With all these security camera subscriptions, I'm thinking of moving might might start using my nas drive instead. Internet is certainly fast enough now.

Has anyone done this themselves?

I have a Ring doorbell and use a Raspberry Pi manage the feed with it linked into HomeKit on my Apple devices. Slightly fiddly and technical to set up, but once it's running it's great and no subscription costs to pay. I use the Scrypted open source software on the Pi but there are a few other alternatives I think.

When moving out, do you still need to give your energy supplier a manual reading even though you have a smart meter?

No, your energy supplier should have that information via the smart meter itself. But you should tell them exactly when you're moving out. Note that you can't use the smart meter elsewhere, because it's designed to operate in that property only.

it's the safest way to make sure the bill is correct so it's a good idea, yes

Thanks guys, moving on 10th Jan and my bill is on the 6th so I'm sure even octopus can't screw me over a few days.

Can't even find a reading on my meter and I'd rather leave it since I've already let them know the moving date.

When can you start eating the 'Christmas food' 🤔

Great question. I've asked the same thing over the weekend.

Both with my parents and in my married life, it always seems to begin, modestly, on Christmas Eve, peak on Christmas Day and Boxing Day then tail off a little until New Years Day.

I suppose it ties-in with being off work/school?

I guess it depends on your plans and what you've bought. It's just the two of us, except for Christmas lunch when my parents will visit. We only start the Christmas food on Christmas Day. But, we don't actually buy a massive amount of it anyway.

If you're having lots of guests over the festive period, you can't eat it before they arrive or its a bit awkward 😬

Well this is the thing, I finished work for the year Friday so MY Christmas started as soon as I clocked out 😂 but my missus is working till Christmas eve. We have done the main shop and stored it away. Thing is I noticed some things like apple pies and pork pies best before dates have 23rd December and 25th December so me being a fat bastard and I thought I had a valid excuse, so I started on them :dunno: wife wasn't to pleased but like I said, I had a valid excuse. Thing is the nuts, pringles, selection of cheese's and booze etc are just calling out to me but I don't have an excuse to start. I know the dates above are still in date and are ok after but I know if I don't eat them noone else will, I have very fussy kids and I'm not wasting them.

So I think you are right about Christmas eve. I won't have any more Christmas food till then. You wait until she realises the loose nuts have disappeared, I was trying the new nut crackers out! I honestly was!

No guests this year apart from my Dad for Christmas dinner who we have every year. We normally go a little OTT with the food but calmed it down as we not entertaining this year. Like @Free Falling Foxes said, Christmas eve is the best day I suppose.
