Leicester_Numan Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 There may be a grain of truth it the story - but that doesn't stop it from being nonsense! Vardy clearly wasn’t ‘almost sold’ to Wednesday last Summer. There’s no evidence for that at the time. Some rumour would have surfaced. What probably happened is that an agent makes the obvious connection between Wednesday’s search for a striker and Vardy. So, he speaks to someone at Leicester (Shakespeare, Rudkin, Beaganhole, one of the players, the receptionist - it doesn't really matter who as far as the story is concerned. It could of been a ball boy) and asks how much they rate Vardy. Someone with an LCFC connection says that he reckons we rate him at around £5m, but that Pearson has the final say and that Pearson would need to be willing to sanction the move. The agent then goes back to the Wednesday Chairman and says “I can get you Vardy for £5million. Pearson might be willing to sanction the move”. Chairman says ‘That’s too much”. End of non-sotry. To me, that is a much more likely scenario. This sort of thing probably happens 100s of times every Summer with freelance agents ‘chancing their arm’ to get a deal done. It’s only cos Vardy is such hot potatoes at the minute that this story has even gained any leverage. The story has made The Sun and it says that Vardy had actually agreed personal terms with Wednesday before the owners pulled the plug on the deal. I know it's difficult to believe that Pearson would even consider selling Vardy let alone sanction a deal to sell him but you and others have just written it off as bs without even considering that it might be true and if it is, what would happen afterwards. It would create yet another rift between Pearson, and the hierarchy at the club on top of everything else that happened last season. My theory of this being the final nail in Pearson's coffin makes sense of everything that we couldn't make sense of at the time.

Vacamion Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Some of the insight and analysis on the Wolves forum is way above what you usually get in football forums. Bravo to them. Mentioning Wolves just makes me think of Steve Bull and Steve Walsh. Ah, a different era...

J.Lisemore Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Apparently we were rejected by Ronaldinho on deadline day, as if he'd actually get a game There's no way Ronaldinho would have rejected us . I'm sure he'd jump at the chance to play in the Premier League, must be about 35/36 now.
Oxshottfox Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 'Fearless foxes' .... Back page of London metro this morning. People are buying into the dream
Orange seat Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Every time i think of Wolves i have visions of that underpass!(people of a certain age will know what i mean)! Haha, same here mate
AmyLGK Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Just read all of that stuff about Dyer and his wife. Shocking if that's true, and given the way it's being spoken about and the inexplicable loss of form from him it would make a lot of sense. He was always a really under-rated winger I thought, but for us he's been largely disappointing. Can imagine what's happened to him at Swansea has sent his head all over the place. It explains a lot, basically. Hope he sorts himself out and we absolutely twat them again in April. The big question about all of that though... look at the bloke who's supposedly been on his wife and look at his wife. Surely that's a bigger miracle than our league position Oh no where did you read this? I hope the club are supporting him emotionally...
mancunianfox Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Oh well, swans could be back in the championship next year while Nathan polishes his winners medal.

cjslcfc Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Manchester City fans looking ahead to tomorrow: http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/threads/leicester-city-pre-match-thread.319335/ Was about to post this on here. All sounds a bit too familiar doesn't it. I've read the first few pages and to summarise: "They hoof it long to Vardy" "Why don't they get any injuries?" "They're so lucky it's all going right for them" "They play kick and rush" "I've got a feeling we will put down a marker" "They were rubbish when we played them in December" "Mark Vardy and Mahrez out the game and we will be fine" "Leicester only have 2 weapons" Lots of them highlighting how massive a game it is for them though... Hope they end up feeling like other teams this season - perplexed at how plucky Leicester have done a job on them. No doubting it's going to be an extremely tough match though.
Torten Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 (edited) PULIS ON BERAHINO Tony Pulis is speaking ahead of West Brom's trip to Newcastle on Saturday, the club who attempted to sign Saido Berahino in the winter window, and he's had this to say about his striker... "This football club has been without one of best goal scorers in the Premier League for the whole season. Take Vardy out of Leicester and see where they are. Fook off Pulis, thinks he's smart in saying that a team isn't as good as it is when you remove the top goal scorer Edited 5 February 2016 by Torten

Oh and actually play them.

I sense a little bitterness in that snide comment. Face facts Tony your a bang average manager that teams bring as a last ditch attempt of survival and Claudio has more class in his little finger than you have or ever will have. Why is he acting like this is something out of his control, you could just play the kid....
Corky Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 If Pulis had become our manager when the press were desperate for us to hire him and boot Pearson out we probably wouldn't have Vardy in the team, we'd have four centre-backs across the defence, another in midfield and Mahrez replaced by James McClean.
ajthefox Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 I had admired Pulis as a manager but he's made himself look a proper mug with all this Berahino bollocks, just stop talking about it and let him play.
benmeysner Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Not sure why people keep using the same reason for our league position? Ofcourse if you took our best goalscorers out we may not be as top? Is this not true for about every club in the world perched at the top?. Pulis is a very basic man

Man City without Aguero - Minus 13 goals Arsenal without Giroud - Minus 12 goals Spurs without Kane - Minus 15 goals Everton without Lukaku - Minus 15 goals Watford without Ighalo - Minus 14 goals Granted the last two aren't challengers for the title/champions league, but if you take the top goalscorer out of any of those teams it will affect their league position significantly. The same even goes for taking Rooney's 7 goals away from United, Payet's 6 for West Ham or Defoe and Wijnaldum's 9 each for Sunderland and Newcastle respectively. Those two would be dead and buried without those goals. It's just a terrible argument. Edited 5 February 2016 by ajthefox
Koke Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Why doesn't he just play the kid? But I get the feeling that Berahino has been acting up like a big time charlie. Pulis is an old school fella and he's a good judge of character so it could be a case of Berahino not pulling his weight in training and thinking he's bigger than West Brom. Just take the £19m for him and move on.
EnderbyFox Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 If I was a West Brom fan i'd probably have killed myself by now, couldn't hack watching that tedious negative football week in week out 1
AKCJ Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Tony Pulis is the kinda guy who whinges about foreigners ruining the English league an arl. Absolute helmet. Either play him or let him go.

It's like saying last season if you take Costa out of Chelsea they wouldn't have won the title. Well duh, yeah. If you take out the talisman of any club then they wouldn't be where they are. People are forgetting we're the only club who got 2 players in PL double figures. Some clubs don't even have one.
