Saxondale Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 Aiyawatt has been interviewed on SSN: * No contact with O'Neill yet * Had a lot of applications * Not rushing into an appointment
Dr The Singh Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 Top has been interviewed on SSN: * No contact with O'Neill yet * Had a lot of applications * Not rushing into an appointment Feck!!!
Tielemans63 Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 As highly informative as most of SSN's interviews then? <_<
Leicester Lass Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 Absolutely no new information following that interview. I find it very strange that they have nobody in mind just yet, makes the timing of Sven's departure seem all the more bizarre.
Corky Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 Absolutely no new information following that interview. I find it very strange that they have nobody in mind just yet, makes the timing of Sven's departure seem all the more bizarre. Makes it look even more like a reaction from Saturday.
Saxondale Posted 26 October 2011 Author Posted 26 October 2011 The interviewer did probe him (not literally) but you wouldn't expect him to spill too much. We do now know, however, that they haven't been speaking to O'Neill (clears up the sightings at Belvoir Drive rumours) and that they don't have somebody lined up.
Ozwin Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 If they didn't have anyone lined up then things must have been pretty bad behind the scenes not to give him another week or two while they look around.
Leicesterpool Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 As dexter would say "this is stupid", do the board know what there putting there fans through at the moment. The only other thing is that maybe the owners are currently speaking to O'Neill, but just saying this to keep the paparazzi away, to not put him of the job! Remember Scolari put of for the england job by paparazzi.
ramboacdc Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 hes in talks with me. hes saw how ive been doing on FM12. but seriously. its gonna be someone stupid.
Bangbangboom Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 It would mean all these MON rumours are a load of BS.......personally I'm inclined to believe there has been movement behind the scenes and that the owners are full of it?!
dannythefox Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 There not going to say if they have anyone in mind are they ffs! O'Neill might be away on holiday for all we no so i wouldnt worry.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 Well at least Mark McGhee ruled himself out of contention.
Babylon Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 They wouldn't give anything away, only a complete and utter moron would sit there giving everyone the exact details.
Saxondale Posted 26 October 2011 Author Posted 26 October 2011 There not going to say if they have anyone in mind are they ffs! Why wouldn't they? They don't have to give names. Something vague like "we have some candidates in mind" would do - but he gave the opposite impression.
Callabinho Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 Svens sacking is clear, won 9 from 27 championship games, and they will have someone in mind, we know how owners work their not going to announce to the world until its a done deal.
RowlattsFox Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 They may not have spoken to MON. Andrew Neville may have done though
Ric Flair Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 I'd be astounded if we haven't made contact with O'Neill or Hughes yet, ASTOUNDED.
Kilworthfox Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 TOP is not going to tell SSN exactly what he is doing, I'm not calling him a liar at all, but I'm suggesting that he will not exactly be laying out his whole plans to a worldwide audience! They must have at least 3/4 candidates that they ideally would like to interview. I'm not suprised that they have not spoken to O'Neill or anyone as yet. There must have been something fundamentally wrong at LCFC to show Sven the door, if they did / do not have someone in mind, that they had sounded out before speaking to Sven!
Fox92 Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 Find the timing of the sacking abit strange considering Top seem's to have nobody in mind. However, they are not exactly going to say if they do have somebody lined up either. Martin O'Neill's name will always be on the next managers list, regardless of whether the owners want him or not. I find it hard to belive the O'Neill would return, but all this talk in the paper, bookies and then comments from Neil Lennon and Simon Grayson etc just make it seem more like it is going to happen. At least we have had lots of applications
Babylon Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 I'd be astounded if we haven't made contact with O'Neill or Hughes yet, ASTOUNDED. We might not have spoken to them... we may have to their agents though.
Tielemans63 Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 They wouldn't give anything away, only a complete and utter moron would sit there giving everyone the exact details. Amen! I'm amazed that people were expecting anything else! They wouldn't give anything away, only a complete and utter moron would sit there giving everyone the exact details. Amen! I'm amazed that people were expecting anything else!
StanSP Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 They blatantly have made contact with some managers, including O'Neill. Why would they say that they haven't? They want to keep us on our toes and they don't want to give off the wrong impression. As soon as they mention they have spoken to someone in particular, a lot of fans will just circle like vultures in to believing that he'll be the next man. Just everyone, chill the fuck out.
Leicesterpool Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 maybe the owners spoke to O'Neill say Sunday or something, they assumed he was coming but, decided he'd think about it first or maybe O'Neill's turned it down, hate writing O'Neill's turned it down.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 They've spoken with MON 3 times in the last 5/6 weeks, I know this to be true & have stated why in a previous thread. But they aren't going to admit this, and do their negotiations thru the press are they. I can't believe they sacked Sven without prior knowledge as to the future manager. They are very good business men after all.
Woollett's Wellies Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 My interpretation of that interview was..... 'Top'. Have you spoken to MON? .. 'No. But Andrew Neville has but I'm not going to tell you as it's going to make any other applicants second, third, or even fourth choice which won't go down well with anybody'. So. Are you looking to make an early appointment? .... 'Yes. But as we've made MON an offer and he hasn't said yes or no I don't want him seeing this and feeling we're putting more pressure on.' The press rumours are coming from more than one source and I reckon there's some truth in them. Of course it doesn't mean MON will take the job though.
