He's not a £5.5m player He's not even proved to be a £4m player, the amount that we bought him for If he went for an inflated amount it would be because a) It's Jan & everyone costs way over the odds in Jan, it's a fools market for sought after players b) He's under contract for years & we have no absolute need to sell him so we can ask for what we want, should we get a suitable replacement.... considering he's scored 2 goals in 20 league games for us, it shouldn't be too hard. Bamba was a good buy for £250k no doubt about it, if he's sold it will be profit depending on his wages, we might even make enough to start clawing back every other signings ridiculous package too, but I doubt we'll get that much

You think we'd turn a profit over that year in charge, for Sven to be quite the smart businessman? You do know roughly how much he had to pay people to come here don't you? Everton announced we paid £1m just to borrow Yakubu... Blackburn signed him for 4 years for just £1.5m PVA & in particular Bruma were also reportedly very expensive as we many other signings going back to Curtis Davies etc How do you know how much Nugent cost? Sure he may have moved on an out of contract basis & no fee was passed to his former club, but do you really think there wouldn't have been other clubs sniffing if we hadn't offerede him a compelling amount? Urawa Reds have indicated Abe was on £2m/yr (£40k/week) and that was pre-Sven... the mind boggles at the packages some of guys must be on as we had to pay people extra to compensate for being in the Championship if Prem clubs were after them and a whole host of other things like signing fees & agents fees etc which will be huge Perhaps this is partly what NP meant when he said the squad wasn't balanced, sure he may mean no natural right sided player & only 1 on the left, but perhaps he meant a host of people on a couple of million a year and whole host of other people who aren't... that's sure to create a massive imbalance in the team

We'd have 3 strikers without him, one being Howard and the other an unproven youngster who's as things stand only here for another 3 weeks. Besides he's starting to hit form and I'd like to see if he can keep it up for a while longer.
