Watched the first 2 episodes of Masters of the Air on Apple TV,  did make me smile when they criticised the RAF for widespread indiscriminate nighttime bombing of Germany whilst championing the daytime targeted bombing of their own US bombers, this quickly changed with the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki!

Finished season 1 and started season 2 of She's Gotta Have It, a TV adaptation of the Spike Lee film by the man himself on Netflix.

It's something different and I'm really enjoying it. Storytelling from a very different POV, well shot, the odd good laugh and it breaks the 4th wall.

Really nice score as well, which is highlighted between scenes.

From what I understand certainly during the early part of the US campaign they weren't all that accurate anyway. Also when the RAF tried daylight bombing they could not sustain the losses. I know how we all deplore civilian losses but try to see it from the point of view from the desperate situation of the time and technology available

Interesting,

So glad Terry Matalas was behind Picard S3

Interesting video and definitely food for thought.

There is one point in there I'd focus on though, they say season 4 of enterprise was "arguably" it's best, I disagree, I don't think there's an arguement to be made, it was clearly the best season with exactly what fans were asking for at the time, more multi-episode stories. If the show had had 3-4 more seasons at that level, I argue it could have competed with TNG/DS9 as right up there.

Old trek > new trek but with strange new worlds at least it seems to be heading somewhat back in the right direction.

Finally got round to watching the first episode of Gen V.

Absolutely zero interest in any of the characters. And the two who I had a mild interest in got killed off straight away. Can't be arsed with it. My mate told me there's no real crossover for The Boys so I'll leave it.

I do worry that any British viewers coming to these series without much knowledge of history do not recognise the contribution of our own forces other than a mere nod or shake of the head. I've not seen Masters Of The Air I must admit

Half way through fool me once and it’s very wooden and the writing is absolutely abysmal BUT it’s got its hooks in to me and I’m really intrigued what exactly is going on and who’s guilty of what and who/what is and isn’t what it seems.

also half way through American Nightmare and it’s bonkers.

both on Netflix.

I was just coming on here to mention the utterly needless mentioning and general slagging off of the RAF and the English. I think there must have been at least 4 occasions in two bloody episodes.

Finished season 3 of slow horses whilst good it was way off the first 2 seasons.

Some of the writing was the absolute pits. Walking to the Cafe where Catherine was, randomly walking out of the back door, down the street and just happening to find her glasses, and oh look they are towing a car away... lets just presume that's the car... yeah it is... how convenient.

It was similar in Saving Private Ryan with the needless dig at Montgomery by Ted Dansons character, literally no reason to have put the “overrated” line in the movie.

Band of Brothers did it too when one of the privates was ranting about how they didn’t need the British help and Winters came over and pulled him to the side and said ‘couldn’t agree more’.

The arguing the toss about it is extra ridiculous when by far the highest fighting price in terms of blood and lives to defeat the Axis powers was paid by the USSR anyway.

ITV x catch up has the documentary of the tik tok "influencer" murder case of the bitches Maybeck Ansari(sp) and her whore mum who were convicted of murdering the mums lover and his mate on the A46.

Some bits of CCTV at Tesco Hamilton  and Porsche  garage.

Truely evil bitches who hopefully get fecked up good and proper in prison.

I think the problem is that these programmes are aimed mainly for a US audience and it seems they cannot resist either ignoring other allies or belittling their efforts to promote their own.  Going way back to the film The Longest Day at least it was obviously a joint effort.
