My Mrs fancies Simon Reeve too🤣🤣

But like you say he is a great presenter  and seems a genuinely decent bloke.

Pretty much why I'm struggling with it. As mentioned, first game was great as it had a defined plot with purpose. Second game was dull as dishwater given it completely omits the entire zombie/cure angle and is just a vehicle to see how much personal suffering and misery can be shoehorned into a game in the name of "being gritty".

I've also struggled with Ramsey as Ellie. First season I thought she did a good job, but either through the writing or directing, any of Ellie's charm and innocence is just completely removed.

Hopefully season three gives the writers some wriggle room to actually introduce a story and it might benefit from it.

I’m a bit conflicted with this too. She’s getting some awful stuff online about her looks.

Her Ellie is just unlikeable and too edgy.

Fubar is just.... bad. Arnold Schwarzenegger in an action role in his mid- to late 70ies just doesn't do it for me. And his "daughter" in the series is just plain annoying, the bad-ass character not believable.

Bad writing, bad acting, a casting that ticks all boxes (minorities are a must, sauf Asian-Americans, as per usual).

Finally got around to watching Andor

Just finished episodes 8-10 of season 2, brilliant

Some of the best stuff Star Wars has done in quite a long time

I am mildly annoyed cause I have just got round to Last of Us only to see all of hating for season 2.    I will carry on but it has put a bit of dampener on the viewing experience.

I enjoyed it and it’s got decent reviews overall from what I saw.

Yeah, don't take the howling of the online incel mob as gospel - they did the same thing when the game came out. It's still very good, just doesn't scale the heights of the first game/season and veers into the too dark and bleak, imo.

Which the second game also does tbf.

Yeah, that's what I meant - my major nitpick with the second game was that it simply got too bleak and so it became difficult to care.

Anyone been following the retrial of Karen Read v Massachusetts on Court TV?  Accused of murdering her police officer boyfriend by running him over, but also allegations that he was murdered by a fellow officer and that she is the victim of a frame.  It’s now in its penultimate week and it’s certainly been engrossing.

Started watching it last night. I was in my 40s at the time and had taken PanAm 103 a few times in the previous few years, so it was proper scary. The Beeb seem to have done their usual efficient and respectful job of telling the story, but it’s not an enjoyable watch. I will, however, continue.

One interesting side-story which I didn’t realise at the time was the way that the first suspect followed up by the FBI was a Muslim passenger, purely on the basis of his friendships.

The Kegworth air crash happened a couple of weeks afterwards, and it seemed that UK air travel was suddenly very dangerous, although the two incidents were not connected.

Always wondered about this plot thread from the show, still think it was a shame they dropped Crusade but it is what it is...

I was really sceptical of Department Q at first, the early episodes were completely hackneyed and trite but it grew into a superb first season.

Original settings, villains, tight script etc.

We have just finished this and I fully agree. I couldn’t understand why it was so highly rated after episode one.

I’d encourage everyone to stick with it, as it’s exceptional. I‘d even go out and a limb and state it’s maybe the best series we’ve watched this year.

"Music Dance Experience is officially cancelled"

Easily the best line ever in the history of television beating one small step for man one giant leap for mankind.

Will be vague given it's not long been out, but thought Squid Game 3 was alright all things considered. Season 2 was a bit flat given it just ended, so does help this one had an actual ending. Was a bit predictable, but quite watchable.

Cameo at the end was a bit weird and unnecessary. Yes we see who you are, no need to hang on this frame any longer.
