foxfanazer Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 Mata and Hazard. Superb players. Prefer the former, myself, but they were just on a different level today. Ran the show. Totally agree. Mata's all round play is second to none in the prem for me. Hazard is a bit more of a showman but he has unbeleivable potential
foxfanazer Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 sickipediabot â€@sickipediabot Dwight Yorke reckons the Wigan players tackle was shocking. Not as shocking as his own tackle though. Look what that produced. must....not.......laugh...... lol lol
Finnegan Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 It's not especially funny. Not because it's offensive, just because it's a shit obvious joke.
Les-TA-Jon Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 Re: the tackle - who cares about intent? It's clearly excessive force, reckless and dangerous play = red.
whoareyaaa Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 You mean that time he was meeting with the owners at the Belfry. No.

purpleronnie Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 Sky Sports News â€@SkySportsNews Wigan chairman Dave Whelan describes Callum McManaman's challenge on Massadio Haïdara as a "fair tackle" #SSN Probably was when he was a player.
Soar Fox Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 Wonder if he'd say that if it was the other way round?
Super_horns Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 Wonder if he'd say that if it was the other way round? Wonder if he'd say that if it was the other way round? 10 year ban probably...
David Guiza Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 Probably was when he was a player. Fairly sure his career was ended by a bad challenge, but I could be wrong. In any era of the game that is a bad challenge.
Super_horns Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 Fairly sure his career was ended by a bad challenge, but I could be wrong. In any era of the game that is a bad challenge. Today he sort of said that tackle was "just an accident" but in the past it seems he's called the tackle which broke his leg a disgrace and would have been a red card in today's game. As I say its blind loyalty and protecting his own player (young star they could potentially sell on for good money or helps keep Wigan in the league)
Ozwin Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 It's not especially funny. Not because it's offensive, just because it's a shit obvious joke.
Alexikokopops Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21790728 - Players going bankrupt Mr Hendrie isn't getting a lot of sympathy comments wise in and its probably no surprise. Do they need more help on how to look after their money? Again another example of too much soon and not having the right education or mind set in terms of how to spend wisely.. There was pretty much exactly the same article in the Guardian 6 months ago, I can't help but feel the BBC are a touch behind the times (he says, replying 3 days or so later...)! http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/oct/12/lee-hendrie-bankrupt-aston-villa
BHAFC Braders Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Michael Owen retiring http://www.michaelowen.com/
Kitchandro Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Michael Owen retiring http://www.michaelowen.com/ I really thought he was going to break the English goalscoring record once. It's a shame injuries hindered him. Still, he probably could have had a more productive last few years if he was bothered. He never strucked as someone who really lived and breathed football.
Corky Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Michael Owen retiring http://www.michaelowen.com/ I thought he did it years ago.
ScouseFox Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Always loved Owen. Pretty sure most people my age did/do, guessing most people's first memory of proper football would be THAT goal against Argentina. That hat trick in Munich against the Germans, loads of big goals at big times, putting us ahead against Brazil in 2002, for 20 minutes or so a lot of people thought we could win the world cup. Injuries done him though, otherwise I reckon he'd easily have beaten 50 England goals and 100 England caps, and been retiring as one of our country's best ever.
AKCJ Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Sky Sports News â€@SkySportsNews FA will not charge Callum McManaman over his tackle on Massadio Haidara #SSN
Corky Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 On what grounds do they believe no foul play was committed?
Super_horns Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Sky Sports News â€@SkySportsNews FA will not charge Callum McManaman over his tackle on Massadio Haidara #SSN It was said he might get away with it IF one of the assistants said they saw it but still very surprised.
Dan Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 What hope does English football have when it's governed by that group of bollockless, inept fvcking idiots. They really are a joke. I honestly think I could do better myself, fvck all this technicality nonsense, get the point and sort the problems out.
StanSP Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 So a linesman sees the challenge, doesn't do anything about it, and a player is seriously injured from it threatening his career (life in Fergie terms), and the offending player gets off scot-free. What a bollocks rule the FA have in place, there. Sort it out, because it's just extremely wrong that McManaman can get away with that challenge, and any other future players who might too. It's just inconceivable that he didn't even get a standard 3 game ban. If McManaman isn't getting punished, I hope for everyone's sake the linesman does - how can he claim to see it but not give anything for it. What the hell did he see?! Maybe he and Dave Whelan go to the same opticians.
Corky Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 McManaman isn't that type of player, apparently. Really, is that right? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2295478/Callum-McManaman-tackle-Wigan-forward-tackled-Gai-Assulin-2011.html
