acooling08 Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 He ain't that good, but I will agree he has played well this season so far, but you can't overlook his passing at times, today he hit three of the worst passes I have ever seen. Can't believe people are only giving James 6's, he was much better than that in my opinion, controlled the midfield more than Drinkwater at times, James did everything you want from a midfielder, only 6's, you should be ashamed. James is too similar to Drinkwater (and not as good). I fully expect King to reclaim his place over James soon.
KIRBYFOX93 Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 St Ledger did some Sol Bamba tricks must of missed them. St Ledger Haha hmm yh forget the tricks for sean
Tielemans63 Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 It'll be interesting to see if a striker comes in on loan as it looks like Beckford is a goner. I'm not writing off Vardy but I think if we could get a more established striker in then JV could be our super sub.
Fox92 Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Kasper - 7 De Laet - 7 Morgan - 7.5 St ledger - 7 Konchesky - 7 Knockaert - 8 Drinkwater - 8 James - 7.5 Marshall - 7 Vardy - 7 Nugent - 8
kingfox Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Ashamed? For having an opinion? Yes Bert, because you obviously didn't watch the game properly James is too similar to Drinkwater (and not as good). I fully expect King to reclaim his place over James soon. James impressed me, far better than Drinkwater in the first half. I expect King to reclaim his place, but James did nothing wrong today excellent performance.
Fox92 Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 James impressed me, far better than Drinkwater in the first half. I expect King to reclaim his place, but James did nothing wrong today excellent performance. Totally agree with James. Sat in midfield well.
ScouseFox Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Kasper 7 RDL 7 Morgan 7 - bit shaky once or twice but those stepovers make up for it. SSL 7 Konch 7.5 - great going forward and solid. Marshall 6 - still can't work out why people think he's so good. Not exactly a bad performance but nothing he tried worked. James 6 - King without the goal threat. Drinkwater 7.5 - very good. Knocky 8.5 - Vardy 6.5 - has to score twice. Can't miss them every week. Nuge 9.5 - perfect hat trick.
foxesfan1989 Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Just got back, REALLY enjoyed that. Shut their fans up. Bruce getting sent off was the icing on the cake a great performance. Kasper 7 - Kicking still needs more accuracy but made one very classy save RDL 7 - Best game i've seen him have, solid. St Ledger 7.5 - Pro performance, can't remember a single error Morgan 7 - As per, solid. Might have a claim on the 2nd goal too. Konch 7.5 - Again, didn't see a single error. Some great challenges too. Knocky 7.5 - Great game, he will set up a lot of goals this season. Need better corners though. Drinky - 6.5 - Good in the challenge, passing average, shooting poor. James 6.5 - Not really involved Marshall 6 - Not a great game from him. Couldn't use his pace to beat players, crossing was average. Vardy 6 - Should have scored at least one Nugent 9 - Hattrick Hero, great work rate too.
dog_4 Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 best way to get Marshall ticking again would to put him back on the right and move Vardy to the left where he played for Fleetwood and scored so many goals. This 4-5-1 system works better then last because there's more movement and Nugent is bigger and stronger then last season enabling him to hold the ball up and win headers!
fleckneymike Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Once again I'll swerve the arbitary numerical system Kasper - Not much to do DeLaet - Can attack, still not much good going t'other way Konchesy - Improving with every game Morgan - One lapse in an otherwise quiet game for him SSL - Not much to do and like Morgan did very little very well. James - Still lacks that essential speed of thought but an improvement on previous performances Drinkwater - Busy, but too busy sometimes. A better performance than in midweek Knockeart - Very good and very French. Far better when deployed in a free role. Two delicious through balls which... Vardy - couldn't take. Another bustling performance but little finesse. Hopefully he can learn how to take the chances Nugent - nice finishes and led the line competently Subs - unfair to comment due to limited pitch time. For me the stand out performer was Knockeart, quite how long he can maintain that level of performance will be key to our season.
Saxondale Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Schmeichel 7 - A good save, some poor distribution De Laet 7 - Solid Morgan 7 - Strong but a some bad passing, had a Lionel Messi-style run near the end St Ledger 8 - In there Konchesky 8 - Usual high standard Knockaert 8 - Exciting to watch, cocks things up now and then Marshall 8 - Silky Drinkwater 8 - Bossed it James 6 - Steady, but doesn't do much Vardy 7 - Usual high work rate but couldn't get into it as much this afternoon and also missed a sitter Nugent 9 - Hat trick Waghorn 8 - To give him credit, he got stuck right in there King 7 - Did well Dyer 7 - Ditto
Adam Dey Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Schmeichel-7 made some good saves keeps on doing iffy kicks!! De Laet-6.5 he played ok some decent crosses and some great runs aswell Morgan-7 Solid at the back less there was a few bits u got worried about when he tried to be to cool on the ball. St Ledger-7 same as Morgan really tried to do a few coll bits but really didn't pay off <<^^ the 2 were a bit like Sol Bamba a bit lairey. Konchesky-8 i thought he was solid at the back he was a threat going forward with Marshall, made a couple of good chances.. Marshall-7.5 he had a better game than some of the games where he did not look like the Ben Marshall from Last Season but he looked like to me he was part of a great flowing LCFC team.. Drinkwater-6 played some good simple passes today very intelligent. James-6.5 played well today pushed the ball up the field but also some giving the ball away what we don't need. Knockaert-8.5 i love this guy he makes the game very exciting looks a threat to every team we've played this season Vardy-7 His work rate is brilliant but i think he needs more goals he could of scored 3-4 goals today but the goalkeeper denied him twice or so. Nugent-10 This is the Nugent we want to see every week,he was closing the defender and the goalie down very well and had a very good Hat-trick he has 4 goals this season now i think 4 goals in a week,BRILLIANT!!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Schmeichel 7 De Laet 7 Morgan 7 St Ledger 7 Konchesky 7 Marshall 6 . Drinkwater 8 James 7 Knockaert 8 Nugent 9 Vardy 6 King 7 Waghorn 6 Dyer 6
fox_favourite Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Reading through the post I think people are under estimating James. I thought he played well today. He will never be the player that makes long passes or burst into the box and make a 20 yard runs. Hes the player that you dont notice and will do the dirty work and break up the play in midfield. I thought James & Drinkwater compliment each other well. On the whole, a very good team performance. Lets hope our away form gets better

Corky Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Schmeichel- 7 (Not a lot to do, but again was alert) De Laet- 6 (Gave the ball away for the goal, but going forward he's very good) St Ledger- 7 (Nervy start, but grew as game went on) Morgan- 8 (Dominant. Loved his mazy run towards the end) Konchesky- 7 (Much improved, stayed tighter to his player and got forward well) Marshall- 6 (Drifted in and out) Drinkwater- 7 (Effective in the middle, kept things ticking over) James- 7 (Went about his business quietly but effectively) Knockaert- 8 (Still needs some fine tuning but he's a lively threat and has a good cross) Vardy- 7 (Missed a couple of chances but never stopped running) Nugent- 9 (What can you say? Worked so hard off the ball, clinical in front of goal. Looks back to form) King- 6 Dyer- 6 Waghorn- 7

Bluetintedspecs Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Agree with most and would give 7s to all apart from Morgan 8 Immense presence and leadership again Drinky 9 Think he bossed midfield and made us tick and 9.5 for nuge usual tireless effort and took is hattrick v well v good TEAM performance.
Thracian Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Schmeichel 6.5 (One save of any note, distribution a bit wayward.) De Laet 6 (At fault for their goal which was far too easily conceded and nothing more than ordinary).) St Ledger 6.5 (Good and bad aspects but not especially impressive.) Morgan- 6.5 (Did lots of pointing but left opponents with too much room on occasions) Konchesky 7 (Our best defender today and reminded us of his shooting threat on one occasion) Marshall 6 (Insignificant performance) Drinkwater 7 (Well involved and kept many a movement going) James 6 (Looked a bit short of pace and didn't really do anything to remember) Knockaert 7.5 (Takes too many touches in risky situations but made an excellent goal and posed a threat moving forwards) Vardy 7 (As ever he got into great positions to miss the chances he had but his workrate and ever-present threat meant he always had to be watched). Nugent 10 (Took his chances like a natural marksman and looked back to his best generally) King 6.5 (Good to see him back and passing the ball simply and quickly). Dyer 7.5 (Helped tear Hull apart before playing the final pass for our third goal.) Waghorn 7 (Also assisted with the final goal).

Dan Posted 24 September 2012 Posted 24 September 2012 Schmeichel - 6. Not a great deal from him today which is never a bad thing for a GK. De Laet - 7. Still a little erratic at times when defending but looked quality too. Got better the longer it went on. Morgan - 7. Can't fault him again really. St Ledger - 7. No complaints. He's had two pretty solid games. I hope he keeps this up. Konchesky - 8. Thought he was class today, the amount of interceptions and his general movement off the ball, amazing. Drinkwater - 8. He was back to the early season form. Quality today. Bossed it. James - 7. He's a very steady player and we tend to do well with him in the team, he's gradually getting better. I'm a fan. Vardy - 6. Should've bagged two. His finishing is all that's letting him down, which is pretty amazing considering how many he scored last year even if it is at that level. Knockaert - 9. He's just class. He's not had a single game where he hasn't looked quality, every time he gets the ball he looks forward, plays a superb final ball too. Absolute FLAIR, sensational player and easily one of the best in the league. Marshall - 6. Wasn't happening for him again to be honest, he's been off form this year. Nugent - 9. Superb. His finishing today was phenomenal. Subs King was quiet, Waghorn & Dyer linked up to set up the third and I thought both played well.
Burmesefox Posted 24 September 2012 Posted 24 September 2012 Nuge, Drinky, and Knocky were outstanding.
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 24 September 2012 Posted 24 September 2012 Agree with most and would give 7s to all apart from Morgan 8 Immense presence and leadership again Drinky 9 Think he bossed midfield and made us tick and 9.5 for nuge usual tireless effort and took is hattrick v well v good TEAM performance. Im glad im not the only one that thinks this. I thought Drinkwater was excellent as he has been in most of the games so far. His workrate (along with James) was superb and covered alot of ground. His ball retention is very good and he's ALWAYS on the move and looking for the ball. If we're being picky, you could say he gave away a few sloppy passes but the guy is very young and another player getting better. Another thing i noticed, a few times when he was being challenged or 'pushed around' he still kept the ball and was able to handle himself. He's defo physically stronger than last season
redtillidie Posted 24 September 2012 Posted 24 September 2012 Man Utd fan here, just like to check in on the ex Utd players and see how they are settling in..!!! Interested to read the many different opinions on James, one thing to remember is that before signing for yous he had been injured for 18+ months and playing for LCFC are his FIRST games back since recovering - give him chance....he may well be a little slow of the mark and even lacking a little confidence but would this not be due to the lengthy injury he had???? and you go on about him not scoring goals... he will! The most influential players arnt always the ones who run about like idiots, these are the ones who get noticed.... and from reading all the posts it seems that Drinky and James controlled your midfield and stopped them playing so i would say they had a massive influence on the game... and whoever it is who "feels like James is carrying Weight", needs to seriously get to the Opticians How is De-late playing for you?
