surrifox Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 I love the FA cup and have great memories of wembley in 1969 so would love to go again. Half the prem sides are out now and we are only 2 places below the bottom prem side why not really go for it strongest side possible against huddersfield and Wigan at home?- really ought to be enough to get us into the quarter final draw
lestajigs Posted 27 January 2013 Author Share Posted 27 January 2013 Bet they will charge £20 a ticket!! Be lovely if it was a tenner
dannythefox Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 Lets beat Huddersfield first. Its a good draw could end up with a trip to Wembely with a bit of luck, theres a lot of strange teams still in it.
Bert Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 16th I'd say, because we have Charlton on the 19th. That can always get put back a day.
Fox92 Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 Hopefully we will firsty beat Huddersfield. Then give a Premier League team a test, see what we're made of. But it will be tough, although I think we can beat them, Wigan are good away from home.

sdb Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 A bigger draw and we may have switched off in the league...swings and roundabouts!
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 Wigan will play a weakened side, so won't be a true test for us (should we beat Huddersfield.) Staying up for them is much more of a benefit financially so it's unlikely we will see their bigger names. 0-1 written all over it with neither side caring and around 12k fans. LukeyZade Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 Im happy. Hope we win against huddersfield. I live in wigan now and the missus and inlaws are wigan fans. We will be travelling down together and il be in kop where i belong COYB
WhenYourSmilingLCFC Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 Should do a ticket offer, if say, you go to the Huddersfield replay, you get money knocked off your Wigan ticket. Then again it might only be a tenner anyway haha
Bert Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 I wonder if Nathan the Wigan fan will return. Now he was a proper WUM.
Greatness_Since_1884 Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 16/17th feb. 17th is most likely for us/huddersfield Depends if we get picked by TV. Although Utd, City, Everton, Arsenal and Chelsea will probably get those. I also think its a good marker for us in terms of measuring us against a lower-mid/bottom Premier League side and he sort of team a potential PL season would be defined on. coolhandfox Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 Don't moan, muppets. It's a good test for us if we're realistic about going up and consolidating next year. If we can beat Wigan comfortably, which I think is well within our ability if we turn it on, we're on track for a stay in the Prem. But as others have said, there is the matter of Huddersfield to sort out first! Agree it will be a good test and will give NP an idea of how the side could shape up in the PL. Trav Le Bleu Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 Winnable game against Premiership opposition at home. Not as good a glamour tie, but better than another Championship team away. Not bad if you ask me.
Webbo Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 Part of me thinks I wouldn't mind losing to Huddersfield rather than having to bother with this fixture. Crap draw.
Thracian Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 If we're ever going to be a club of any consequence we've gotta cope with playing additional games. Play the next match and field your strongest fit side. Simple as that. Stop worrying about nothing. The next match is a Championship game against Wolves. Wigan in the Cup might never be a match at all.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 If we get past udders then I think this could be a good draw for us, at home against a beatable premier league team

iamafox Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 I'm pleased with the draw, we've certainly got a chance of winning that tie and then be in the last 8 once again. Barring that we've got a replay to contend with first.
Ashley Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 Some people on this forum really aren't the full ticket. What is wrong with Wigan should we beat Huddersfield? This could be a very testing game for us especially if we go up this season. We could beat them and get either the winners of MK Dons v Barnsley and Luton v Millwall. Potentially a Wembley trip for us. Shut up moaning. Should we get through both games and not get a 'winnable' tie then our 'glamour' tie would come. ADK Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 If we got past Huddersfield and put out our first team we are favourites. Wigan are nothing more than average and thats their first team. If they play their reserves we are big favourites.
Benji Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 Might be hard to sell many tickets for this given we'll only know for sure 4 nights before. Would be nice to keep the run going though.
