I LIKE PEARSON! The Wood substitution was sound and made sense but bringing Kane on when you had both Knocky and Dyer available who are both known to put more of a shift in was in my opinion wrong. I'm actually glad we got a point, I thought we would come back with nothing and on the end of a 2-0 loss but when you come that close to winning it hurts. The Kane substitution was in my view not great but everything else I can't fault Nigel for and think he did a good job today rallying the troops and picking good starting tactics, formation and team.

I actually thought Kane did some half useful things. But, I would've prefered one of those two players to be brought on instead. Knockaert would've done better at keeping the ball so it didn't ping straight back at us and Dyer's pace could've created something.

I suppose Pearson had his reasons, but I can't work out what they were.

Well... You two make a lovely couple.

If you have no further points to make, declare your opposition unknowledgeable. Great tactics. They only work in theory, though.

In reality, they come straight back at you.

Nobody knows anything about football, we're all just fans and we're all just guessing week in, week out.

And as for me being sad... lol When I look at my posts, then at yours, then back at mine, then back at yours... I know who the sad one is. And it ain't me.

That made me chuckle lol

Much better overall performance, thought we deserved all 3 points and with better finishing we would have had them.

Lua Lua was tearing Moore apart all game IMO, thought having De Laet coming on would meant he played RB to counter-this, so was rather confused there.

Think Schmeichel may be slightly disappointed too, looked like it went under him and think he would've expected himself to save that.

A point that keeps us pretty much where we were before the game, not out of it by any means, but not any closer to the playoffs. However, I think the performance gives me a lot more hope (although I said this at Cardiff too).

Two home games next are massive, 6 points would be ideal and put us right back in it. Despite everyone saying if we fail to do this, it's over, I think 4 points from our next 2 still keeps us well in it, especially with Forest away at Cardiff and Boro in their next two, and Brighton away to Boro and Peterboro, none will be easy games for them, and they'd do very well to take maximum points from both.

As long as we stay within 3 points of Forest (and 6th), it's always in our hands on the final day. Our GD is like an extra-point, can't see any other rival team catching it. Trying to stay optimistic, 3 points against Brum please!

Wow, despite not watching or listening to the game because quite frankly i'd rather choose watching and am more interested in the horse racing at the moment, but had a look at the score, 5 minutes ago and saw it was 0-1.

I was going into the match thread to firstly praise the team and 2 ask if we deserved it, played well, e.t.c...Click to view the thread just see a load of ****'s....Don't think I need to ask :crylaugh:

I give up...Think the players have too.

(TBH I realised and gave up week ago)

the players have given up? every player worked their socks off today! you would have know that had you bothered to watch or listen to the game. great fan!

Why has this forum sunk to the level of the playground.

Surely everyone is entitled to their opinions about Pearson and the players and I'm all for healthy banter and criticism but why do certain posters feel the necessity to get personal and quite frankly abusive? :dunno:

I think De Laet is much better going forward than Moore. In the first half I noticed that we missed De Laet's runs as Moore just hoofed it up the line when he got the ball. Not criticising him, he is a young player and will improve.

Marshall was pretty ineffective I thought and De Laet did reasonably well as a right sided attacker. This doesn't surprise me actually as it is a strong point in his game anyway.

If we go up I'll happily hold my hands up and say I was wrong about Pearson. I only want him gone because I think it will give us a better chance of success. If he turns it around and gets us promoted I'll be first in the line to congratulate him. I don't think he will but I'll be delighted if I'm proved wrong.

So to clarify if we are in the playoff final and we lose on penalties he's shit and yet if we win on penalties then you will admit you were wrong about Pearson. If that's what you believe in you are supporting the wrong club as 95% of English teams will have good and bad spells over years, just look at Southampton, Pompey, Wigan, Swansea etc.

Decent result in the end, and at the end of the day we are still in with a chance. Lots of positives to take from the performance of course but this result makes our home games VITAL. We must be Brum and then Bolton if we are to have any chance of finishing in the play-offs. Thought Drinkwater was pretty poor today and Kane gave the ball away countless times after coming on, almost as many times as Marshall in the first half, who was again.. poor. As I say, lot's of positives but also lot's to work on. Onwards and upwards but don't write off Leicester City JUST yet.

I get the impression that playing RDL/Knockaert would have been more effective than Moore/RDL.

At least RDL/Knockaert know each others roles to some extent.

Pearson persisting with Kane is a waste of a substitution. It's "Vardy mark 2" in terms of a worthless substitution to make.

It should have been Knockaert on instead of Kane.

I actually thought Kane did some half useful things.

I had my eye on Kane because him being brought on again pissed me off a lot. He did about five things. One was take a sad free kick that was lucky to win a corner. Two was take the corner, which to be fair was a half decent corner. He played two awful passes, and the other thing he did was run the ball out of play while in a good position. In other words, he did nothing that marks him out as a professional footballer. I genuinely think I could have put in just as good a performance.

Remind we again how long we spent in the top 6 under Sven?

Did you watch the game today?

If we get promoted, which we have as much chance of as Palace, Forest, Brighton and Bolton, how are people who have been constantly negative going to react?

Will you feel any shame for giving up so early, will you admit you were wrong, or will you just rewrite history and pretend to yourself that you hadn't bottled it while we still had every chance of making the playoffs?

Or...will you just save up your vitriol for if we lose the playoffs or the first bad run in the Premier League?

Just interested !!

I think everyone will be delighted if we get promoted.

You seem to think that anyone wanting Pearson out wants us to fail, but that`s just not the case.

We want what we feel is best for our club, the same as you do, we just have a different view to you, in terms of what that is.

There were times today where we moved the ball around with such vindication and fluidity you'd never believe what rotten form we've been in. Considering his lack of consistent game time, I thought Schlupp was magnificent today, kept going at it even though he was given the frustrating chance of leading the line on his own against a team that keep that ball very well.

I thought the central midfield trio of Drinkwater, James and King worked effectively and tidily when the ball was kept on the deck, on occasion we tried to play it out of defence when it wasn't really on. King should've scored but all in all I thought his movement and link-up play was on a par with James, both terrific. Drinkwater is obviously out of form but I thought the three of them had a decent understanding of how one another play.

Konchesky has been dog recently, utter, utter toilet - today he looked like that consistent, tireless left back we had on our hands last campaign. Wes, outstanding, Keane not far off. Moore mixed but I shudder to think what damage Lua-Lua would've done to SSL today had we had that pissed up no-mark at full back.

Kane hasn't really merited any praise but he get's played in little cameos here, there, and everywhere and hasn't had a modicum of time to settle really. Should be cover, nothing else - we can't afford to give him that time to bed in. I'd start Knockaert for Marshall next game, the latter's defensive qualities go under-valued but some of his decisions attack-wise this afternoon were beyond comprehension.

Three academy graduates in our first eleven - I think that's fantastic for a side being competitive against one of the division's better sides. Late goal an absolute sickener but plenty to be positive about and some fantastic spirit shown today. Better than the majority of the last thirteen games combined.

Until we're mathematically out of it - I'll still bloody believe we can do it. I'll have several breakdowns by then, though. Bloody City.
