theessexfox Posted 15 April 2013 Posted 15 April 2013 Couldn't find the same topic anywhere, so wondering your views on which of these two sensational players comes out on top.
Guest Bilo Posted 15 April 2013 Posted 15 April 2013 Ronaldo is an incredible athlete, and at pretty much at any other time in history would be regarded as the best on the planet. Unfortunately for him, Messi is the greatest player of all time.
Fox92 Posted 15 April 2013 Posted 15 April 2013 Like both players. Ronaldo does seem to be complete though; good in the air, uses both feet, good set pieces, ability to score from any distance etc. Don't think either of them is the best player ever though.
Tom17LCFC Posted 15 April 2013 Posted 15 April 2013 I'd rather have Messi in my team but I'd pay to watch Ronaldo.
ADK Posted 15 April 2013 Posted 15 April 2013 Messi is the only player i can think of who dosn't even really look fit half the time but still wins matches practically on his own.
SystonFox Posted 15 April 2013 Posted 15 April 2013 Messi Anyone who says Ronaldo doesn't know football imo
ADK Posted 15 April 2013 Posted 15 April 2013 I think they are both good. Messi is the most technically gifted player i've ever seen. Ronaldo isn't too shabby in that department combined with being a great athlete. Really depending on how your team play football then either could be better.
Bert Posted 15 April 2013 Posted 15 April 2013 I prefer watching Ronaldo but Messi will be the greatest footballer that's ever lived. He's an absolute genius.
Fox in the North Posted 15 April 2013 Posted 15 April 2013 In terms of football and sheer skill (which is what the poll is about) I'd go with messi. However id say Ronaldo is a more if not the complete athlete for football.
MPH Posted 16 April 2013 Posted 16 April 2013 Messi has 7 more goals and 6 more assists from 2 less apearances domestically so far this season. Last season messi scored 13 more goals and had 13 more assists but played 6 more games. 2 seasons ago they played the exact same amount of games , scored the same goals but messi had 11 more assists. Stats speak for themselves. Ronaldo started his international career in 2003- Messi in 2005.
Dan Posted 16 April 2013 Posted 16 April 2013 Messi. Ronaldo is a sensational player. Probably the most athletic player I've seen. But Messi? An absolute genius. I think he's actually a class above even Ronaldo. The absolute complete forward.
Stadt Posted 16 April 2013 Posted 16 April 2013 I'd like to see Messi playing in another league, then it would be easier to say bit at the moment Ronaldo. (Despite what my avatar suggests)
Bert Posted 16 April 2013 Posted 16 April 2013 I'd like to see Messi playing in another league, then it would be easier to say bit at the moment Ronaldo. (Despite what my avatar suggests) Me too. The only way Messi leaves Barcelona is by letting his contract run down. No-one will be able to afford him. Also, who's to say Messi would want to leave? Unless of course he wants a new challenge elsewhere, but only he can decide that.
Stadt Posted 16 April 2013 Posted 16 April 2013 Ronaldo has proves himself with 2 massive teams in 2 different leagues and has been relatively successful with Portugal, Messi has played with 1 team with probably the best supporting players ever, Messi has more to prove I think
ealingfox Posted 16 April 2013 Posted 16 April 2013 Me too. The only way Messi leaves Barcelona is by letting his contract run down. No-one will be able to afford him. Also, who's to say Messi would want to leave? Unless of course he wants a new challenge elsewhere, but only he can decide that. I think he's made pretty assured comments about staying there his entire career, which is kind of a shame but understandable. As for the debate, Messi is miles better and will go down as the greatest ever, but I do feel Ronaldo has a couple of things on him. I feel like Ronny would score goals and create chances dropped in to any position on any team, and maybe you can't say that with Messi. However, more recently Messi has started to disprove the idea that he can't do it without his flunkies Xavi and Iniesta, and I still think he'd score 35+ in any league.
whoareyaaa Posted 16 April 2013 Posted 16 April 2013 Messi easily. could walk past 10 players and still put the ball anywhere he wants.
whoareyaaa Posted 16 April 2013 Posted 16 April 2013 I would absolutely love to see Messi in the Prem doubt it will ever happen though
Messi Posted 16 April 2013 Posted 16 April 2013 Messi, easily! Since 2009, the stats speak for themselves. Messi has won: La Liga: 3 times Copa Del Ray: 2 times Spanish Super Cup: 3 times UEFA Champions League: 2 times FIFA Club World Cup: 2 times UEFA Super Cup: 2 times Ballon d'Or: 4 times European golden boot: 2 times Ronaldo: La Liga: Once Copa Del Ray: Once Spanish Super Cup: Once European Golden Boot: Once Also, Messi has scored more and has more assists than Ronaldo since Ronaldo signed for Madrid. End of.
foxfanazer Posted 16 April 2013 Posted 16 April 2013 Got to be messi for me. Simply a genius One of mates reckons he is the most overrated player on the planet and that if you put him in any other team in the world he wouldn't get half the goals he does at barca. Sure he just says it to wind me up
Haydos Posted 16 April 2013 Posted 16 April 2013 Ronaldo is an incredible footballer and athlete, one of the best ever. Unfortunately for him, Messi just has more ability.
