Super_horns Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Going to be some pressure on the next guy whoever it is!
purpleronnie Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Going to be some pressure on the next guy whoever it is! Not really his failures in europe could be easily improved on.
foxfanazer Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Moyes to Manchester United And Roberto Martinez to Everton good shout
AKCJ Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Does anybody think the fact that the German and Spanish teams dominating in Europe this year had anything to do with his decision? Thought he'd want anoth pop at the CL but maybe thought they were way behind those clubs Dunno, i'm surprised he left with the club, lets be honest, failing in Europe.
RowlattsFox Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Least the new man can't come in and criticise the old regime like do many do. Think it will be moyes with fergie still hovering around the background.
Kitchandro Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Woah bombshell! I've never liked him but fair play to him as a manager, an unbelievable career. In fact I'm pleased he's finally gone as I'm hoping Man U will adapt poorly
Fox92 Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Not sure if he is the greatest manager ever? He has done well domestically, but has only won two European Cups and with the great squads he has had, surely could have had more? Both Mourinho and Cloughie, for example, won two European Cups before they were 50...
purpleronnie Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Giggs will retire and Rooney will leave I think. rooney wont leave, too comfortable. The greatest ever...no one even close...to manage through these days too where players are such spoilt bastards...amazing really....feel sorry for the bloke taking over!!!!

It's the longevity that makes him so impressive. I'm not saying he's the best necessarily, after all Cloughie did do it with a shite club, but I don't think you can say he's not the greatest because he only won 2 European cups. After all, you've got to win far more games in the league than the Champions League.
Samilktray Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Only an idiot would say he wasnt the greatest manager of all time.

After all, you've got to win far more games in the league than the Champions League. It is the fact he has been there so long that is impressive, I agree. As I said domestically he has done very well, but I don't agree with 'nobody ever comes close to him' and all this. There have been many managers that beat him in Europe, but haven't won as many league titles. Bob Paisley, for example. Fergie is 'up there', no doubt about that. And as a football fan, I do respect him. All about opinions again though, that's a wonderful aspect about our game.
VinceNoir Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 A truly amazing manager. I don't think anyone will ever come close to achieving what he has at one club! I dislike Man Utd, but I have massive respect for Fergie and how he's built 3 or 4 huge sides over the last 25 odd years. Absolute footballing legend.
Corky Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Never his biggest fan but you can't deny his success and standing in the game. Amazing in the domestic game here, could he have done a bit better in Europe with Man Utd? But his time at Aberdeen shouldn't be forgotten. Would love someone like Allardyce to go there.
AyewJoking Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 what odds can you get on him returning as boss when things go pear shaped?
Guest BlueBrett Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 I'm a little bit gutted about this. The Premier League will never be the same again
whoareyaaa Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Everton calling a press conference at 12pm new United boss to be announced soon they reckon. "cut from the same cloth" Lump your money on Moyes...
yorkie1999 Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 What would be funny is if the west brom fans sing sacked in the morning on the last game of the season.
goose2010 Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Skysports reporting that Utd will announce their new manager within 48 hours!
Super_horns Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Not really his failures in europe could be easily improved on. True and that is maybe where they might go for Jose Mourinho rather than Moyes although I guess the former hasn't got Madrid to the final yet...
yorkie1999 Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Skysports reporting that Utd will announce their new manager within 48 hours! They have to, to stop dodgy stock market dealings.
Mack Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Time and distance will show that Ferguson is the greatest manager there has ever been to date. As a 40 odd year old I can remember the pre Fergie era at Utd, how they struggled, and how they nearly sacked him in his early time at the club. Sir Alex has gone onto be the father of the English game, a true living legend, a man that will never even be forgotten and will be talked about in 100 years time. I know a lot of people dont like the man, but you have to respect the Manager, the achievements, the manner in which he created a new squad over and over, the way he has made the most of the young talent that came through the youth ranks, the way he inspired a generation of his players into management and the 27 years in one job in an industry where his peers are lucky to last a year. Thank you Fergie for the memories, the drama, the European victories and for giving so much to the English game.
GingerrrFox Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Say what you want about Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United but you have to respect a man that has won 38 trophies and been at the pinnacle of his profession for 27 years. He built Manchester United into the force they are today and there will never be another man like him. No matter what club you support you have to acknowledge the fact that he will go down in history and be remembered for Centuries as a true legend. In 100 years time people will still talk about the greatest football manager that ever lived.
whitlock Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 I think i'd have won a fair amount of trophies if I was there for 26 years. I can't stand Man United in any way possible, so I'm pretty biased. Fingers crossed this will be the demise of Manure.
