GingerrrFox Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 I think i'd have won a fair amount of trophies if I was there for 26 years. I can't stand Man United in any way possible, so I'm pretty biased. Fingers crossed this will be the demise of Manure. If you knew anything about the shape United were in when he became manager you wouldn't be so disrespectful to the greatest manager that ever lived.
whitlock Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 If you knew anything about the shape United were in when he got became manager you wouldn't be so disrespectful to the greatest manager that ever lived. Like I said, I'm pretty biased. I really couldn't careless.
ADK Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Well if it wasn't for Sir Alex it would probably be Liverpool with the £103124033124031204 Zillion revenue from merchandising etc, kind of don't mind Man U even though their plastic fans are irritating. Half our squad came through their youth system too.
David Hankey Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Here's to a long, happy and chew-less retirement, SAF. I doubt whether we will ever witness another manager who will emulate his wonderful record, British or foreign. Yes, he's had massive amounts of money to spend, most of it has been done wisely, but I wonder how he would have fared at a lesser Club. Something we'll never know although I no doubt reckon his son, Darren, could do with his expertise at relegated Peterborough!!
leicesterlad1989 Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Love him or hate him, surely nobody can deny he is one of, if not the greatest football manager ever. His record speaks for itself, thank god, because I hate him when he talks. Not a huge fan of him or United but he's clearly a legend of the game. People will still be talking about him in years to come. Enjoy your retirement you Brilliant Legendary Bellend Genius of a man.
iamafox Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Never liked Man Utd, never liked Fergie. But no-one and I mean NO-ONE will ever match what he's achieved in the game, he truly is the greatest Premier League manager ever and quite arguably the greatest British manager we've ever seen.
kingfox Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Even though some people aren't keen on him like myself, the Premier League won't be the same without him. Sad day for the Premier League, Manchester United fans, and every former Manchester United player ever to play under him, even the likes of Dong Fangzhuo and Bebe will be a bit sad. Alex Ferguson gone, Moyes maybe going, just need Wenger to move on, then the Premier League will certainly be in the biggest transition period ever.
Fox in the North Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 I think i'd have won a fair amount of trophies if I was there for 26 years. I can't stand Man United in any way possible, so I'm pretty biased. Fingers crossed this will be the demise of Manure. You do remember that he won bugger all in his first four years right? In this era he'd have been gone by the second year. I'm no fan of man utd, but to do what he has done in 26 years is still truly remarkable, and to have achieved all this while completely changing his squad many times over the years. As leicesterlad1989 has already said, he's a legendary genius of a bellend
Tinman Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Billy Davies official statement..... "Billy Davies has officially removed himself from the running for the vacant Manchester United managers job as Billy Davies has unfinished business at Nottingham Florist." United are now expected to turn to their second choice Jose Mourihno.
fazzyfox Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Look on the bright side Utd fans, there may be less comebacks in future but you'll be getting home 7 or 8 minutes earlier after every match!
Basingstoke Fox Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Should make the premier league a bit more interesting next season. With Chelsea and Man Utd both having new manager and both probably wanting the same man! Would love to see Jose at United, but i'm pretty sure he will end up at Chelsea. Paddy powers odds.... The Horse's Mouth Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Seeing Sven's name in that list made me miss him .
Raj Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Oh dear some.folk need to take off there Liverpool tinted glasses and just acknowledge fergie as the greatest of all...surprised some so called respected members of ft have come out with such bullshit!!!!!
MPH Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Never been a United fan but its impossible to ignore his achievements.. From that famous cup game against Forest where the sack was looming if he has lost to where he has taken them today... Even I am a little sad at the idea of a premier league without... but also intrigued. Its absolutely impossible to replace him... If the new manager doesn't win the league in their first season the fans will be calling for the sack probably. Poisoned chalice indeed.
MPH Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Oh dear some.folk need to take off there Liverpool tinted glasses and just acknowledge fergie as the greatest of all...surprised some so called respected members of ft have come out with such bullshit!!!!! indeed... I think some people like to just appear clever and different so much that they just HAVE to have a different opinion...
MPH Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Time and distance will show that Ferguson is the greatest manager there has ever been to date. As a 40 odd year old I can remember the pre Fergie era at Utd, how they struggled, and how they nearly sacked him in his early time at the club. Sir Alex has gone onto be the father of the English game, a true living legend, a man that will never even be forgotten and will be talked about in 100 years time. I know a lot of people dont like the man, but you have to respect the Manager, the achievements, the manner in which he created a new squad over and over, the way he has made the most of the young talent that came through the youth ranks, the way he inspired a generation of his players into management and the 27 years in one job in an industry where his peers are lucky to last a year. Thank you Fergie for the memories, the drama, the European victories and for giving so much to the English game. Im sure he is soley responsible too for adding so much extra football to the adoring fans at Old Trafford too with all that injury time refs seem to find...
Callabinho Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 The greatest club manager ever to grace the beautiful game in my opinion, all he has achieved has been astounding. It's a shame to see him retire, but I wish him all the best.
Tielemans63 Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Amazing manager - people wouldn't hate him as much if he weren't so bleeding successful. I've never liked him and the majority of people probably never have but he has an unbelievable desire to win and clearly doesn't give a flying **** what other's think of him and I quite respect him for that. Hope he enjoys his retirement. As for his successor, I don't think Moyes has enough experience at the very top level. I think Utd will want someone who understands English football, has been successful in the PL and who has a great record in the Champions League - IMHO that all points to Jose Mourinho. Throw in that he has a strained relationship with Abramovich and I can absolutley see him replacing SAF at Old Trafford.
ousefox Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Think Scholes and Giggs won't last long now. Best manager ever bar none.
AKCJ Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Think Scholes and Giggs won't last long now. Best manager ever bar none. They might join him.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 The greatest ever...no one even close...to manage through these days too where players are such spoilt bastards...amazing really....feel sorry for the bloke taking over!!!!AgreedFantastic manager, I think his man management is the best there has ever been or ever will be
Fox92 Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Seeing Sven's name in that list made me miss him . Made me pause and thank the fact he isn't not our manager.
theessexfox Posted 8 May 2013 Posted 8 May 2013 Its not just all the trophies, its the youth he produces, of such quality and quantity that isn't replicated by any other team in England. Plus he has assembled a non superstar-filled squad from which he could pick 2 or 3 strong sides... genius.
