Tomlinson's signed to help a charity cause, imagine being part of One Direction and being a pro footballer aswell, that would be sickkkk

All the sad little one directioners are going to want a shirt with his name on the back. If they give all of that to the charity, all well and good. If they don't they'll make a lot of money this season, very clever marketing ploy but cringeworthy if you're a Doncaster fan

Blackpool set to sign young Liverpool left-back Jack Robinson on a season long loan.

Would've been a good signing had we not signed Zoom

QPR sign Charlie Austin.

Good, and probably a far less expensive, purchase.

The fact they don't have to comply with FFP is an absolute scandal.

Watford close to signing Nick Powell on loan.

Okay now I'm pissed off

My reaction.

That's a really good player there.

Sorry guys but all I can see is some other clubs continuing to strengthen.

QPR with Austin could be the cherry on the top.

This is gonna be a tough season.

It really is and it completely undermines the whole idea of Financial 'Fair' Play.

Typical really. Half decent logic, yet the execution has been nothing short of a disaster.

What exactly is "fair" about a system where three of the teams play under different rules to everyone else?!

I agree...

As far as I can see, and I'm no financial fookin whizz kid lol, FFP and Parachute payments are at direct odds with each other.

To be giving such a competitive advantage over the three teams relegated, for four seasons!, whilst restricting the other teams around them seems dramatically unfair?

Posted

Surely they have to get rid of these payments?

They're in place as a safety net for clubs trying to cope with decreased revenue. With FFP now in place that limits the amount they spend so it becomes much less of a problem. There's no longer a need for parachute payments, now all they serve to do is severely skew the competition in favour of a few.

Makes total sense to have them scrapped, immediately.

So they should, when they can benefit from £48 million over four years basically just for being shit at a higher level.

Parachute payments are just a reward for failure.
