21st Century Fox Posted 17 June 2013 Posted 17 June 2013 How did Tahiti win the OFC Nations Cup? Who beat New Zealand? New Caledonia
Simmo86 Posted 17 June 2013 Posted 17 June 2013 New Caledonia lol I thought it was bad being an England fan!
Fox42 Posted 17 June 2013 Posted 17 June 2013 Tahiti not playing as bad as I expected. Disappointed in Nigeria tbh.
Manwell Pablo Posted 17 June 2013 Posted 17 June 2013 Tahiti not playing as bad as I expected. Disappointed in Nigeria tbh. At least they're having a go have had a couple of attempts at goal and fashioned at decent chance, certainly more enjoyable than watching the likes of San Marino or Andorra.
ScouseFox Posted 17 June 2013 Posted 17 June 2013 At least they're having a go have had a couple of attempts at goal and fashioned at decent chance, certainly more enjoyable than watching the likes of San Marino or Andorra. Or Spain
HEGGSY Posted 17 June 2013 Posted 17 June 2013 Yes!!!!! Brilliant, they've given it their all tonight.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 17 June 2013 Posted 17 June 2013 Great moment that! I let out a right squeal and spilt Sun Lolly all over the damn sofa. But it was worth it
Manwell Pablo Posted 17 June 2013 Posted 17 June 2013 Nigeria's finishing has been woeful They've just shown a massive lack of respect and individual selfishness in front of goal. This could well cost them if they draw with Uruguay.
21st Century Fox Posted 17 June 2013 Posted 17 June 2013 Listen up broadcasters, get more co-commentators like Kevin Kilbane. He isn't intrusive to the actual commentary, chips in with worthwhile comments and doesn't seem to have a hint of ego. Mark Lawrenson with his snide comments and failed attempts at humour and Andy Townshend with his worthless clichés, hang your heads in shame.
Corky Posted 17 June 2013 Posted 17 June 2013 Agreed, same with Andy Hinchcliffe on Sky, understated with an good input.
Jimothy Posted 17 June 2013 Posted 17 June 2013 John Hartson there just saying should we have teams like Tahiti in these tournaments? It's the Confederations Cup! A cup for invented to bring together the Champions of each confederation! One team from each confederation (plus the World Champs and World Cup hosts)! They earned the right to be there you tool! What are we meant to do, kick them out and give the spot to Germany or something just because Tahiti are a bit crap?

What are we meant to do, kick them out and give the spot to Germany or something just because Tahiti are a bit crap? Plus look at their passion. had most national teams had score a goal after being 3-0 down would get the ball and take it to the centre spot, hoping to get a couple more and save if anything their reputations. Tahiti, on the other hand, celebrated like it was a world cup winning goal. And why not? A team of amateurs putting a goal past a well established national team which is a dominant force on their continent. It's the kind of situation we hope will happen every year in the FA Cup. Big respect for Tahiti, let's hope they can produce a couple more shocks against even better teams. I, for onE, am definitely behind them. GO TAHITI
Corky Posted 17 June 2013 Posted 17 June 2013 It is a great time when people are excited that a team might score a second goal at 6-1 down
Rincewind Posted 17 June 2013 Posted 17 June 2013 It makes for a better tournament as well. If all the teams are about equal the better ones will work out how many points they need and which games a 0-0 will do. The mediocre teams will cancel each other out. With an under dog who can bring off a shock they cannot afford to play safe. Plus it's better for the fans to cheer on the underdog.

Your are bang on there, He's normally not too bad Hartson, but that was a very silly comment. It's one thing calling for a pre qualifying group in Europe but no matter how bad Tahiti are they won the OFC Cup and therefore have every right to be there the qualification process for the tournament is very simple.
Kitchandro Posted 18 June 2013 Posted 18 June 2013 Agreed, same with Andy Hinchcliffe on Sky, understated with an good input. Well said, I'm so glad when we have him instead of Goodman or Birtles.
MC Prussian Posted 19 June 2013 Posted 19 June 2013 I'd rather bet on Tahiti scoring at least one goal in each of their group stage games.
