fleckneymike Posted 16 June 2013 Share Posted 16 June 2013 No chance. Too expensive (wage wise) and too old. With FFP we're after young and with re-sale value. Since Pearson came back he's signed no one over 30 and the oldest player was 28. Karl Henry is 30 and has a contract which runs for 3 more seasons. Burmesefox Posted 25 June 2013 Share Posted 25 June 2013 rumours on twitter he is discussing personal terms with us. I think we need a hard man in there to play alongside a creative midfielder. Too often we have been over run by more physical teams and bullied (with players like Kingy going awol). We all know Henry's game and he would compliment someone like Kingy whilst freeing up a bit of space. Football is a team sport and not about a team of individuals. Personally, I think that his presence would add to our aggression, give us a more rounded game plan, and provide more balance. Discuss...

KFS Posted 25 June 2013 Share Posted 25 June 2013 Would personally prefer Trotter if possible, due to the fact that he has more ability and he's young.
The Bear Posted 25 June 2013 Share Posted 25 June 2013 @TransfersToBe reckon Henry is currently in Leicester discussing terms: Transfers To Be @TransfersToBe 1hOn 29th May we brought you news that Leicester had enquired about Wolves' Karl Henry. He is today in Leicester discussing terms Though they also reckon Kermorgant is going to Fulham for £3m! So, pinch of salt.....
ealingfox Posted 25 June 2013 Share Posted 25 June 2013 Agree that Trotter would be better, with Henry because of his limited game I would only bring him on second half when we are in front or away from home to break up play (although James can do a good job of this) and stay in front of the back four. cc_star Posted 25 June 2013 Share Posted 25 June 2013 what a poopy player Too specialist a 'hardman' to be useful to a side which needs to pass the ball at high intensity. Just need Drinkwater back on the form he had for 2/3rds the season when was running Wes close for the PotY, until he inexplicably faded.

Burmesefox Posted 25 June 2013 Share Posted 25 June 2013 Sorry but a midfield of any of Drinky, King, James, Knocky, Marshall, Dyer just doesnt hold up as strong. Show me the leader there, show me a Roy Keane or a Neil Lennon. We need a brute to form that spine that all teams need and none of those players are it. I love James but with the remaining midfield he isnt the hard man that we need. I actually thought that this season Danns would play a massive part and I still can't get my head around one very poor game in the cup and he was out of favour. I actually thought that this season Danns would play a massive part and I still can't get my head around one very poor game in the cup and he was out of favour. It worked for a significant period of time. We just kept the ball and didn't let the other team have it. I would like an older chap in there but he doesn't have to go out and get himself booked every game, just put a foot on the ball when needed - the Wellens of two seasons ago would be ideal IMO. There's an obsession with having a hardman, so much so that people think we need one when actually football is moving away from such backward concepts. If we pass the ball as effectively as we can then we won't need a brute as we'll have a 'Spain effect' on teams.
lcfc will Posted 25 June 2013 Share Posted 25 June 2013 Show some respect for the Cuddlemeister! Kenneth tells it like it is! Also, why does 'the cuddlemeister' feel the need to refer to himself in the third person all the time?
TheUltimateWinner Posted 25 June 2013 Share Posted 25 June 2013 Squad depth in the center of midfield is fine, there's plenty of other positions I'd like to strengthen before we even look at the center. James & King will be an unstoppable partnership. We have Drinkwater, Wellens and more versatile players if needs be. Nigel, please for the love of god look at positions that need improving; LB, Wingers, Strikers (Maybe?).
