Bayfox Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 I don't remember the last time Barca have smashed an English club. Normally they win a tight game due to the other team having a man sent off. The Bundesliga hype was based around a handful of one-off games i.e the ones you just mentioned. Did you sleep through the final at wembley the other year?
MC Prussian Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 14 years ago The Bundesliga Bayernliga has definitely been hyped this past year. You were the one asking for examples of Barcelona smashing Premier League clubs in the past. !! I acted as your provider and you're still throwing tantrums. Besides, how can you hype a league with only one possible winner?
ScouseFox Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Let's be honest, as good as the Bundesliga was in Europe last year it's been pretty poor this, and been poor as a league too. Bayern have almost won it already. As for how they perform in Europe, Leverkusen are second in the Bundesliga and lost by an aggregate score of 9-2 to United, the laughing stock of our league, this season. Bayern aside (and Dortmund on their day, which hasn't been very often this season) it is definitely not as strong as our league.
Jimothy Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 This is pathetic. The quality of the leagues are very much swings and roundabouts. It wasn't that long ago the Germans were struggling to make any real impact on the Champions League, and it was only about 4 years ago that the final was made up if two Italian teams, and think most people would feel that Serie A is on it's arse at the moment. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_European_Cup_and_UEFA_Champions_League_finals Look at the last 10-15 years of the finalist. Bar 2003/04 it's been scattering of English, German, Spanish and Italian teams. In fact if you want to be picky the amount of English finalist might just edge it (I haven't counted). Give it a couple of years and the Germans won't be getting a look in and it be all England, Spain or Italy, wait a coiuple of years past that and the Germans will be back at the expense one of the other three countries. No league has any longevity of success to prove it's any better than the other.

They dominated Manchester City, a team who are supposed to be the best team in our Country. Could have been more than two, and at times Manchester City couldn't get the ball.

Quite amazing really that we have such a lack of quality in our League compared to the oh ever so special Bundesliga, La Liga and Serie A yet in the last 9 years the Premier League has had 8 teams in the Final of the Champions League, 4 more Finals than the Bundesliga, 5 more than La Liga and 6 more than Serie A. Would people really be that surprised if Chelsea didn't reach the Final this season under Mourinho?

MC Prussian Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 Winning 2-0 against 10 men is not smashing someone. But 4-1 with 11v11 and 5-1 (aet) with 11v11 up until the 98th minute is, right?
Super_horns Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Wenger looking for a favour from the officials - putting pressure on them it seems.
Corky Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Blatant foul by Podolski, Wenger can't moan at the ref now.
Beliall Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 i think the defender went down a bit easy, wasnt much on it for me tbh. could have been given if lahn didnt go down so easy
Haydos Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Well Robben should be off with 2 yellows for diving. Embarrassing.
Nalis Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 There is something quite dislikeable about this Bayern side...
Jimothy Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Dives like that Robben one should be a straight red and three game ban. Pathetic.
ScouseFox Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 i love robben. i'd say he was my favourite footballer to watch other than jamie vardy and tony k
Guest Col city fan Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Diego Costa last night was sublime. Any little sniff on goal and he buries it. He surely must start up top for Spain in the World Cup. If the likes of Torres gets in over him, I'll laff my head off.
Guest Col city fan Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Blatant foul by Podolski, Wenger can't moan at the ref now. Had to laff at Arsenal last night. Wenger complaining about Robben diving and then said he was disappointed cos he thought Arsenal could beat Munich over two legs. Guardiola had it right. Bayern were simply the better side. Wenger remains a whinger and always has been.
Stadt Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Why can't Wenger just admit Bayern are the better side and Guardiola is the better manager.
Finnegan Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Why can't Wenger just admit Bayern are the better side and Guardiola is the better manager. Because he cares more about the atmosphere and belief in his squad than what people like you or I think? I understand the yearning from fans to hear a bit of straight up honesty from a manager but I cringed hearing McCarthy, Wilson and Powell basically tell the media (and thus their squads) that they have no hope of beating us. It's Micky Adams style, tinpot shit. Think little you are little, you want your squad to believe they can beat anyone and if that means standing infront of the world's media blaming refs and weather and pitches then you go for it. Whatever works. Find me another premiership manager that's done a season unbeaten during the height of Fergusons years.

Arsenal have won the arse end of nothing for over a decade I believe? Many Arsenal fans are sick and tired of Wenger's deluded rhetoric. And in Ozil, it looks like they've spent 40 million on a player who couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag. Munich are and were in a different class. All Wenger's bullshite is just that.. And highly transparent.
