UEFA Champions League 2013/14

I still think United will be able to attract players, because it's Manchester United. For me, United and Liverpool are the biggest clubs in this country and will remain that regardless of Champions League football.

The only thing that might happen at United, is what has happened at Liverpool. You don't buy those £20million/£25million players anymore, you sort of take a step back. Liverpool had to do it, probably minus Suarez.

Diving is disappointing and I don't condone it but it's not all I'm talking about. It's the crying and the arm flapping and the sulking out of games when he isn't getting his way. He's an awful team player.

Compare him to Suarez. Suarez likes a dive and a nibble, he's no angel. But his workrate is always flawless and he's always rallying round the likes of Sterling. I've been very impressed the last season by Suarez' attitude with his team mates, especially the younger members of the squad.

I don't give a **** if he bums animals and bullies children off the pitch (just as long as it's not the other way round, sorry ozleicester.)

I care about what he's like on the pitch and on the pitch his attitude is ****ing disgraceful. The tantrums and theatrics are embarrassing for a grown man. He's not alone in that regard, Drogba is another who's an absolute hero off the pitch (amazing humanitarian work back home) but a prize twat on it.)

Like Rooney ? Or Bellamy ?

I think Bellers matured a lot later in.his career but generally, yes, I'd agree. I'm by no means suggesting Ronaldo is the only talented **** in football!

I have to say I fear for English football, and I think the last week has backed it up. We've seen the Country's best team absolutely dominated by Barcelona and now United lose to a pretty 'average' (I use that term lightly) Oympiakos team. We are way behind the likes of Germany and Spain, and will continue to be for some time until someone up in the authorities actually realises.

Roy Keane has just hit the nail on the head. I like Keane, and regardless of whether you do or don't you cannot argue with what he's just said... "We have been brainwashed by the Premier League that it's the best in the world. Nonsense. It's the best brand."... That is so true.

I don't know what else to add. We'll be on the first plane home in the summer, although we probably already knew that anyway.

Bayer Leverukusen 0-4 Paris Saint Germain

Schalke 1-6 Real Madrid

PSG's first eleven that day cost approx 169million.

Madrid's first eleven that day cost approx £350million.

Olympiakos 2-0 Manchester United

Real Sociedad 0-0 Manchester United

So?

You think PSG would be able to win 4-0 at the Emirates?

You think Real Madrid would be able to win 6-1 at Anfield?

On their day, obviously.

Borussia Dortmund 4-1 Real Madrid

Bayern 7-0 Barca (over 2 legs)

Lost count of the times Barca have smashed English clubs.

My point is that basing the entire strength and success of a league on a handful of one-off games is fvcking lunatic.

That's not to say I disagree with you as I think the Premier League is stronger, in general, than the Bundesliga but so it should be the amount of money thrown about in it. The team bottom of the league spent £12m on one player in January FFS. That would be a huge transfer in Germany, France or Spain (save for Bayern, PSG, Barca/Real).

What a silly argument. The fact is: PL clubs are underperforming.

I don't remember the last time Barca have smashed an English club.

Normally they win a tight game due to the other team having a man sent off.

The Bundesliga hype was based around a handful of one-off games i.e the ones you just mentioned.

2009/2010 Champions League QFs: Barcelona 4, Arsenal 1

1999/2000 Champions League QFs: Barcelona 5, Chelsea 1 (aet)

There is no Bundesliga hype. They're keeping it clean, they're keeping it simple. They keep an eye out on expenses and offer good to great games at reasonable prices.

If at all, then you'll have to look at the Premier League as being "hyped".

Ronaldo doesn't have an attitude, he's actual quite humble off the pitch.

I don't care what he does off the pitch. It has no relevance to me.

It's the way he celebrates his goals like he's been sent from God. Ronaldo has also had 7 reds in his career. He's a bit of a **** on the pitch if we're honest.

However, he's without the doubt the best performing footballer in the world. Our children's children will ask us to tell our stories of him, because he'll be in the Maradona, Cruyff and Pele class.

Playing like they did against Schalke, yes.

The Bundesliga Bayernliga has definitely been hyped this past year.
