Ric Flair Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Will be a good signing for us with Nugent, Wood and Vardy these are four formidable strikers at this level. The thing with Doyle is that wages and goals aside he brings a lot more to teams. His work rate, hold up play and creativity for a striker has always been his strongest asset. Wood lacks the ability in the air that Doyle brings and if we are going to continue to hoof the ball up when under pressure, we need someone who can win it. You'd like to think we'd change our tactics and aim to play the ball on the ground and through the channels which the likes of Wood, Nugent and Vardy thrive on but sadly our manager seems incapable of enforcing that. I'd be happy with Doyle.
Kyle_Le_Don Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 So this could still be happening then? Am I reading this right =)
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 So this could still be happening then? Am I reading this right =)Definately maybe
Callabinho Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 A loan deal has been agreed? I've asked that bloke who was breaking all of the wolves news last night, see if he knows anything.
Kyle_Le_Don Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Definately maybe Can't you swap the words around? Or are you not an in the knower without any sufficient sauce
The Horse's Mouth Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Alright, from what I understand, we will only pay half of Doyle's wages and in return, Wolves don't contribute towards Waghorn's wages.
Tielemans63 Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Alright, from what I understand, we will only pay half of Doyle's wages and in return, Wolves don't contribute towards Waghorn's wages. Hmmm...better deal for them than us but if he produces the goods then it'll be good business.
Kyle_Le_Don Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Surely they should both split it bang down the middle. It's in a wolves nature I guess
Fox Ulike Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 We do need a big bustling centre-forward. This should be Chris Wood - but for whatever reason he just spends most games looking like a lost kitten. Doyle/Vardy would be a killer pairing I reckon.
Callabinho Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Just spoke to Tim Nash, he is the main man when it comes to things Wolverhampton. He's heard nothing. Obviously that doesn't mean it's not happening we will have to wait and see!
sphericalfox Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 If we can get Woods finishing back on track and Doyle back to even 75% of what can acheive, then a combo of Doyle/Woods, or Doyle/Vardy would be superb. Even a combo of Nuge and Doyle should scare the shite out of any defence in this league. Also he's Irish, so my biased to bringing him here is stronger than other options. He's going to be desperate to get back in the national squad, and finding some form to show Traps that he is worth thinking of for the World Cup (should we qualify).

Didn't Trap say he wouldn't consider Doyle for Ireland unless he was playing in the championship?
GingerrrFox Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Doyle is going nowhere, we wanted him to take a huge paycut and to be fair to him I wouldn't do it. Why go from the £40,000 mark to the £20,000 mark. **** that for a laugh. He's not got long left as a professional 5 years max, so makes no sense to half his money.

This is a loan, we will pay half of his wages and all of waggy's so basiclly wolves pay half of Doyle's and have Waggy for free.......I think....

Waggy is on a fair whack himself and there is no chance we will pay all of his (whilst on loan) and around £20,000 for Doyle. Your talking nearly £40,000 a week if not more if we do that. We would have just signed him on his current wage deal if we were prepared to pay that, I'm pretty sure this deal is dead in the water now.
hackneyfox Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 You reckon Waghorn is on 20k? How depressing
The Horse's Mouth Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 It's from my understanding that Waghorn is on about 10k.
Tielemans63 Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 It's from my understanding that Waghorn is on about 10k. So it's a question of whether we're prepared to shell out £20k a week for Doyle then? If he is on £40k that is.
dorsetfox Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 well i heard that the wolves fans have only just stopped laughing about the akinbiyi deal so have set this up for many more years laughter
Jace Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Sven and Neville would have had this deal sorted by now with a 25% increase incentive after 10 performances
Loggy88 Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 I know we didn't sign him but I think he would of Been a good signing. I know he's not had a good time at Wolves but a new club in us could have got the best out of him. Would of kept the 3 other strikers on their toes.
LCFC FOX Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 No purpose in the UPPER CASE SENTENCE above.....cat leapt on the keyboard!! What a pussy
GingerrrFox Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Waggy's contract expires in the summer. He's a goner. He will move to somewhere he can be first choice. Sending him on loan is pointless IMO it won't benefit us for the future.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Can't you swap the words around? Or are you not an in the knower without any sufficient sauce errm no im a massive OASIS fan, hence the definitely maybe
