whitlock Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Well we know what his priorities are. £££ Should fit in well here then.
Big Dave Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 There is also talk linking Doyle with a move to Celtic.
FrankieADZ Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 There is also talk linking Doyle with a move to Celtic. yeah but the Scottish transfer window is shut now i think
Happy Fox Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Tim Nash â€@TimNash_star58s Hearing a swap deal involving #Wolves striker Kevin Doyle #Leicester's Martyn Waghorn is highly unlikely. #lcfc won't pay £40k a wk wages. That is the end of this transfer, unless he wants to significantly lower his wages

Bert Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Well we know what his priorities are. Especially considering he turned down Celtic as well....
goose2010 Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 40k a week in league 1 ??? seriously what is football coming to!
Callabinho Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Especially considering he turned down Celtic as well.... You wouldn't want him at your club anyway, but still Kenny Jacket wants to strip the wage bill, Doyle may not have a choice!
AKCJ Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Rob Tanner â€@RobTannerMerc2m I think LCFC are trying but the Doyle/Waggy deal seems unlikely as Doyle is on big money at Wolves and reluctant to leave. **** him then. NEXT.
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 40k a week in league 1 ??? seriously what is football coming to! Football has bust itself mate. Unless you're in the Premiership.
indierich06 Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 You wouldn't want him at your club anyway, but still Kenny Jacket wants to strip the wage bill, Doyle may not have a choice! If only it was so easy to get big earners off your wage bill! We'd certainly be well shot of a few players if that was the case. The fact is, Wolves offered him that contract and they are legally obliged to honour it - it's not Doyle's fault that he's on the wages that he's on, and he's perfectly entitled to stay at Wolves and collect every penny he's owed until his contract's finished. You're a long time retired as a footballer - why would he go somewhere else and take a massive pay cut? Even £20,000 a week would be too much at this level - would you want to cut your wages by more than half if it were you? Doubt it.
5waller5 Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Can't see how this seemed on and now seems off ... We'd have known all along the kind of wages he was on. If it's known on forums then it's known by the club? I still see this happening personally.

If it's known on forums then it's known by the club? I still see this happening personally. He would have to take a massive, massive wage cut IMO. All summer we've been trying to shift big earners - why on earth would we then sign a player who's currently on a £40,000 a week contract? £15,000 a week would be our absolute top end, I'd imagine.

mkaiser1 Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 £40k per week is alot but if we paid him £20k per week and gave him the rest upfront and got him for £free, effectively it's a £1m transfer and he's on £20k per week. That's doable in my opinion. Plus get Waggy out and off the wages, plus Nuge out and off the wages. If we can bin off Gally, Danns and Futacs too then we're laughing if you ask me. It might also justify an extra striker in (like Fryatt).
Callabinho Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 If we sell Nugent and bring Fryatt in there's no chance I'm going to another game this season. Fryatt is ****ing shit!
Finn Claw II Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 We wouldn't / shouldn't pay the £40k anyway. Get him on loan for the rest of the season paying 40% or 50% of his wages (much like Beckford / Danns last season). Wolves will go up this season - presumably Doyle's wages fall when they are back in the championship (according to the post above). This would still save Wolves around £1m
Number 6 Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Don't think he's worth even £20k a week to be honest (not that he'd take the cut). Hope it doesn't stop the Waghorn deal going through though.

Leicesterpool Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 If we sell Nugent and bring Fryatt in there's no chance I'm going to another game this season. Fryatt is ****ing shit! Even if Fryatt bags an hat trick on his debut?
Happy Fox Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Fryatt is okay but he is no better than Nugent if Nugent goes I would like a striker equally as good if not better otherwise it is poor business to sell him imo.
theessexfox Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Keep Nugent if Doyle or Fryatt is the replacement.
