Tielemans63 Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Nuge? I've got a weird feeling that he might be off. No facts to base it on, I just think he might be off - prob to Forest.
cityfanlee23 Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Nuge? I've got a weird feeling that he might be off. No facts to base it on, I just think he might be off - prob to Forest. Im not ITK But I heard he was off to forest/reading for 2.5m (Thats his buyout clause) Can't see why he would want to go though Forest seem to be taking the risk on the FFP fines and going all out for the promotion
One Arm Babba Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 He's a good player and an honest pro. Fair play o him sticking with wolves so long, if he joins us I think we improve.
StanSP Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 And with departures being speculated of Waghorn (on about 10k) Nugent(25k) Konch (25k+) Looks do-able.... Where'd you get those figures from then?
cityfanlee23 Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Where'd you get those figures from then? They are rough figures.. without being quite obvious that these are around the figures we pay them (From previous contracts) the wages were HIGHLY broadcasted when we signed the players, from sources like Sky sports.. (so are probably not far off) I know for a fact Michael morrison was on 12k here.. (Cambridge man myself) and worked with some of his close friends if morrison was on 12k wouldnt think waghorn would be far off
FoxLAD Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 I'd rather keep Nuge now, Saves us have to panic buy a replacement. IMO
kingfox Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 If Nugent does go, the easiest solution will be to sign the main man on loan. Nicky Maynard.
Kyle_Le_Don Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Not another Maynard thread!!! Hope Nugent stays Edit** 'Threads'
Dan Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 As much as I like Nugent, we should seriously consider £2.5mil if we're offered it. Out of contract in a year and on big wages. He's a good forward but he's not oustanding.
Jakemoore Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 If a swap deal involves no additional money (which I'd doubt) then do it! Waggy won't be getting in the team this season as much as I'd like him to. Where as a signed striker would! As for Nuge, I don't want him to go, however, 2.5 mil would be more than enough for him, but my worry is having a replacement in time...James Vaughan?
gazfox9 Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Why would any of you take Doyle over Nugent? Im interested to hear your reasons why. Doyle is finished, his career is on a downward slope and his best years behind him.
MikeyT Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Oddschanger â€@Oddschanger11h Leicester have tonight been cut to 8/11 from 10/1 to sign Wolves striker Kevin Doyle -> http://bit.ly/SkyBetTransfers #LCFC #WWFC
Happy Fox Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 kevin doyle bloody hell he is a very good striker at this level if we have him alongside vardy, wood and nugent promotion is a certainty imo.
Callabinho Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 kevin doyle bloody hell he is a very good striker at this level if we have him alongside vardy, wood and nugent promotion is a certainty imo. I agree Happy! You don't become a poor player over night, name one player who has excelled at Wolves over the last two years? Would be a great player!
MC Prussian Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Why would any of you take Doyle over Nugent? Im interested to hear your reasons why. Doyle is finished, his career is on a downward slope and his best years behind him. a) He's only 29 - and has another five, six or even more years in him b) He scored nine goals in 42 matches last season. Maybe not enough for a striker, but he had scored the same amount over the span of two seasons prior to that. So hardly a case of being on a "downward slope".
Happy Fox Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 He is certainly better than Waghorn at this level! If we bring in Doyle that is good business from our point of view.
yorkie1999 Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 He is on big money at Wolves still. This doesn't really make sense to me. The wolves player's had a clause in their contracts that if they dropped into the championship their wages would fall, but now they are in league one they have gone back up to what they were on in the prem. From what i can gather, they've engineered this. Trouble makers.
paddy Agyemang Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 How is it good business when he's on a wage like he is?? Bad business from where I am standing he's 29 like some people have said his best is behind him for sure, looks like another beckford just on slightly less wages
indierich06 Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Doyle not better than what we have? Are you serious Bro? Yeah, the bloke who hasn't scored more than ten goals a season since 08/09. Still, you carry on slagging off the bloke who's scored 16 goals for us two seasons in a row.
indierich06 Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Why would any of you take Doyle over Nugent? Im interested to hear your reasons why. Doyle is finished, his career is on a downward slope and his best years behind him. I wouldn't take him over Nugent personally, but if we're being offered £2.5 million for Nugent (only rumoured, I know) then we'd be daft not to take it. Doyle would be a decent shout to replace him IMO.
MikeyT Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Rob Tanner â€@RobTannerMerc2m I think LCFC are trying but the Doyle/Waggy deal seems unlikely as Doyle is on big money at Wolves and reluctant to leave.
