Dan Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 I'd take him but a little wary of what wages he'd be on - although I trust we'd not spend more than we can afford. Him and Hammond would be a very nice end to a frustrating summer.
Nift Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Rumours last night Nick Powell could be joining us, if Doyle came this would mean the end for Powell. Would prefer Powell over Doyle?
Stuliasz Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 If we can get Doyle playing, he'd be a very good signing. At his best he would be one of the best strikers in the division. Problem is he hasn't been at that level for a few years now and it would be a risk. Still think he'd provide better competition for places amongst the strikers which may get the others performing a bit better again.
whitlock Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Nugent lives near me and his house has recently been put up for sale/rent. Not sure if his tenant is selling it or he's bought it and selling it himself. Bullshit (Karl Pilkington voice)
AyewJoking Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 if its a straight swap for Waggy then its a no brainer
Kitchandro Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Let's face it, Waggy isn't really competition for our current strikers, but Doyle might be.
kingfox Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Not happy about this, this could have devastating consequences. Mark_w might need counselling, he might reach for some pills, he might be found standing over the weir across from the KP. I'm here if you need me mate.
Leicesterpool Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 If he's that good how come Wolves went down?!
Fox92 Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 If he's that good how come Wolves went down?! Because they arn't Kevin Doyle FC.
Leicesterpool Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Because they arn't Kevin Doyle FC. They didn't actually score that many!
Fox92 Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 They didn't actually score that many! Which you cannot blame on one player. You can't blame relegation on one player either. Wolves experimented a lot last year, the first was the unknown manager.
Bugg Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 A Wolves fan I've spoken to thinks he's absolutely awful. Apparently his work rate is minimal and that goalscoring touch he once had has completely gone.
Guesty Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 If he's that good how come Wolves went down?! If you apply the same logic he's the only reason Reading were promoted to the Premier League. He did actually score a lot of goals for them. Wolves seem like a club with bad team chemistry behind the scenes.
Guest Col city fan Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 I'm a bit unsure about Doyle now. A couple of seasons back I'd have loved him at the club, but he seems to have lost something (pace?) I think his best days have gone to be honest.
kingfox Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Mark_w aside. Realistically, if he can re discover some of his goal scoring touch, he will be a good signing, but nowadays I don't think he is really classed as a goal scorer. I would sell Waghorn to Wolves, but I wouldn't want Doyle coming in as a replacement. I would rather us sign a young and hungry striker, instead of a striker who's goal scoring touch has dried up, and has been rotting away in the Wolves side. So Saido Berahino or Nahki Wells would be better.
Dickov22 Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 A colleague is a Wolves season ticket holder. Said he's decent, a good pro with a very good first touch (Something we lack up top).

Brooksy Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 A Wolves fan I've spoken to thinks he's absolutely awful. Apparently his work rate is minimal and that goalscoring touch he once had has completely gone. He'll be perfect for us then.

cjslcfc Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 I would really love us to get Nahki Wells, been bagging goals for fun! Still think we need an attacking creative midfielder/winger to service the strikers we already have. They can and will score goals with the right SERVICE!

cjslcfc Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 I agree.. It's the only position I'd like us to go all out for to sign someone (within reason and FFP of course) We know Wood can be clinical and can score goals. So can Nuge. Now Vardy is improving I think he could be good for a fair few goals. A striker is not what we need. Feel sorry for our strikers when they're feeding off scraps half the time
Fox Ulike Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Well, we do need a big CF to replace Chris Wood. Wood hasnt been at the races since his mystery injury in February.
