should we strengthen in Jan?

I know we are 2 months away but if we are still round the top 2 at the start of January, should we strengthen the squad (if we have the finances).

Personally I think we should try and bring in another striker and maybe a winger. I think we are pretty strong in most positions but we don't want a repeat of last season and fall off a cliff after January. If we can try and offload SSL, Danns, Waggy and Gally (easier said than done I know) then that could free up some wages to bring in one or 2 new players.

A Long shot (excuse the pun) but Shane Long isn't getting a game at WBA and his contract is up in the summer. If he's not in their plans (he seems to be on the bench every week) we could make a sneaky bid in Jan, depnding on finacnes and what wages hes on etc.

Yeh I definitely think another striker is needed as we aren't putting games to bed and are constantly riding our luck towards the end of games. We are creating plenty of chances but not putting them away. I also think QPR, Wigan and Reading may strengthen in the transfer window so we don't want to get left behind. I think Burnley will fall away as they don't have a big squad and won't have much money to strenghen.

Well they do have money from Charlie Austin's move so I suppose they have an opportunity to build their squad in depth if they are there or thereabouts.

We need a central midfield leader. A player who directs play and stamps his mark on games week in week out. We had this with Muzzy Izzet and havent had the luxury since.

Neither AK or DD are up to it and both blow hot and cold.

A wide man, possibly a striker and possibly a left-back.

Konchesky and Lloyd won't last forever so we need to bring someone through in those positions soon or buy someone in. Schlupp could possibly play on the wing (I think he's better off further up the pitch than LB), and Bakayogo could be decent, but I'd prefer a proven left-back at this level (especially if we have aspirations of promotion). I'd like to see Aaron Cresswell here to be honest - good in defense and his set pieces could prove very useful - particularly if we have players who can attack the ball in the box, like Wasyl.

Up front, depending on Nuge and Wood's form, we could do with another striker to lead the line with Vardy. If the pair of them can pick up form and play like we know they're capable of, then I think they're more than enough. Especially when we have Schlupp/GTF/Knockaert/Waggy who can all play some sort of a forward role as back-up.

If the money is there then I think bringing in another winger, ideally one who can play on the right or left, would probably help. But we shouldn't be throwing ridiculous money around again. Having said that if we can't get important players who are out of contract in the summer to sign new deals then they have to be sold on and replaced.

"ideally one who can play on the right or left"

Where else is a winger meant to play!

It's a long season and I think we need to add quality in all areas barring the defence.

Dyer is so wasteful I think a pacey left winger who has a end product would be my priority, as would a creative midfielder to back up knockeart should he get injured.

I don't think adding to many will happen but we don't have strength in depth, and need to have a competative bench/ backup, who will push the starting 11 for a starting spot, wood, and Hammond are the only two at the minute I could see pushing for a place.

If we are still around the top in January, I think we should take a gamble and spend, as playing the same 11 week in week out will risk burn out, and a serious dip in form.

I meant the right and left.

Being realistic.

All we need is competition on the wing.

We have enough defenders, to cover the back four. Moore can shift to right-back, Wasilewski can shift to right-back, Schlupp and De Laet can shift to left-back, we have Bakayogo as well.

We have enough competition in central midfield now, as long as Nugent, Wood and Vardy continue to score we are ok up front.

A winger will do, probably on loan.

Maybe loaning out a young player from one of the big teams in the Prem might help us a bit. Competition in the squad generally is very good. Probably better to judge this when we've played some of the better quality opponents in the league though.

Really looking forward to watching the battle between Wasyl and Austin by the way. Get the feeling someone's season might be ending early in that one.

We only need a winger.

GK we are fine unless keeper gets injured, then emergency loan.

DF we are covered. If need be Schlupp can fill in and RDL will be back soon.

MF we are strong centrally, but only really have Dyer and Knockaert for width.

ST Nuge and Vardy with Wood off the bench is strong enough imo unless we have an injury.

We're lacking cover on the wings, only an entirely unproven Schlupp as cover for Dyer and nobody covering Knocky. I think this is because NP thought we'd be playing without wingers but now we've switched back to 442 we're lacking any depth.

Hopefully we can get a young prem utility winger on loan.

Only other thing I'd consider is a left back but between Schlupp and the zoominator we probably already have about as good as we're going to get while we're not offering first team football.

Somebody like Paddy McCourt would be a decent shout as a winger because he wouldn't cost loads plus he is a real match-winner. Granted, he's not somebody who's going to turn up every game but he gives us another option in that position. Plus, we could sing the orginal version of the Knocky song as well

A winger/forward, someone equally adept playing out wide as they are through the middle. Nothing else really required right now.
