Stadt Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 I've mentioned this in a few other threads, as we all know the subject of atmosphere has been discussed to the death, so I think having a dedicated sub forum would make organisation and improvements to the atmosphere more viable as the topics would be dedicated towards actual improvements rather than meaningless debate about whether standing at a certain block is right or wrong. With this hopefully it'd filter out the moaners or opposers of atmosphere allowing the 'atmosphere activists' to focus solely on that. So should there be one? (Or am I talking rubbish?)
Jakemoore Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 How dare you suggest something on here that actually makes sense.
shade Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 the only thing I don't get is, surely there would be an 'atmosphere' if enough people wanted there to be one? it isn't just the dreaded suits at the club wanting family friendly football, it must be simply down to the fact that enough people can't be bothered these days to sing etc, coupled with a bigger stadium than filbert street equals less atmosphere.

Harry - LCFC Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Make a sticky thread on the Leicester forum
whoareyaaa Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Good shout, make sense if we want to actually improve the atmosphere.
svensson Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Will we discuss swapping the kop and family stand?
Kitchandro Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 the only thing I don't get is, surely there would be an 'atmosphere' if enough people wanted there to be one? it isn't just the dreaded suits at the club wanting family friendly football, it must be simply down to the fact that enough people can't be bothered these days to sing etc, coupled with a bigger stadium than filbert street equals less atmosphere. It's not that simple. People in this country are not encouraged or brought up to enjoy an atmosphere, nor do they feel a responsibility to create one. A lot of this is down to the authorities at club association and government level crushing the vocal masses, creating stereotypes and controlling the fans as a whole. Years ago you'd get many more thousand happy to stand and sing on a terrace. Of course, there will be people who just want to sit and watch a game. But you'd be surprised just how circumstantial it all is. For example, how many people who sit at home games enjoy standing and singing at away games? How many of those at away games stay away from home ones because it's such a poor experience? And at the Fulham game how many people were getting involved near the end? And this weekend against Forest, you'll probably get the impression that there seem t be more standers than usual. That's because their will be. We need to recreate a fan culture in this country. And that doesn't come from copying these foreign ultra groups, it has to be original and relevant to our roots as a footballing country and club. But we do need to have what the Germans etc have, which is possible, but a lot of change and time is needed. Anyway, I'm sure this idea has been rejected before but I think an atmosphere sub-forum sounds good. There are enough threads about it.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Great, all the drunks can hangout there then.
SystonFox Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Will we discuss swapping the kop and family stand? What a genius idea! I wish somebody had mentioned this before! Let's petition or some shizz
K1FOX Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Needs to happen. At least it'd stop those who seem to be against atmosphere on this forum from needing to knock every idea. Organisation is the only way forward imo
Vardinhio Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 not a good idea, i just want to watch the game. If you want to sing please can you go on x-factor?
Hollism Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 Get it done and see how it goes. We have probably the best looking forum going, but it doesn't mean we can't change things around
Captain... Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 Problem with an atmosphere sub forum is that a number of people will ignore it and those that go on it will be all the same. Threads on the main forum about atmosphere are generally seen by a lot of people get a fairly good response and a wide range of views. A sub forum will most likely be the same people saying the same things but will alienate a number of people on here and at the ground as they will be seen as a clique, like the Fosse Boys. You don't need a sub forum or a spiffy name to create an atmosphere you need people to stop being so bothered by what others think and just start a chant. Make something up at the ground don't sit at home penning a masterpiece converting all the lyrics to bohemian rhapsody to fit Leicester players and post in the new chants thread. Does anyone else think you're over thinking things too much. Just make some noise.
Webbo Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 A sub forum? How many different threads could you make to make it worthwhile?
Bayfox Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 Good idea, maybe you could ask the club to read it and suggest we play, we are the champions and rocking all over the world, every time we do something remotely successful rather than have an organic celebration were the fans are allowed to actual cheer the players.............
Out Foxed Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 A sub forum? How many different threads could you make to make it worthwhile? there's more than enough already made each month to fill a couple of pages.
sylofox Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 To me the problem is people won't sing for the average match. Them that do and want to sit in different area's around the ground. L1's won't move as they sat there for a reason to start with. Why did they go to L1 cos they could not or did not want to sit in the family stand and give away fans shite. The kop is to far away to give the away fans shite so L1 was the obvious area for them that wanted to do it. So praps the easy way forward is all singer's move into the east stand as close to L1 as possible. The the east stand can be like the old kippax at maine rd. Also the clb won't move the family stand as it would not look good on them if a once peacefull area turned into a battle ground. This also makes for easy policing as only one potential flashpoint. Most away fans would not attack the family stand. Going back to Filbo the noisiest area was pen2 nxt to the away fans followed by pen3 then 4. Then the rest of the ground would join in.
MrBojangly Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 Can we have an anger sub-forum? Anyone who wants to start a fight/has had a bad day could go in there
Monsell1976 Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 I think expectation is a big atmosphere killer, like has been said it needs a spark to get us going. The majority of the time, and I sit in l1, is people stand talking to their mates or on their phones most of the time, until something kicks off, I.e bad ref, etc. The atmosphere is better when we are the underdogs, like Fulham and I hope man city. All this said I think we are still good for home fans, as most home fans now are quiet, and most away fans are loud, just seems a common theme around the country.
TrentFox Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 We all live in a yellow sub-forum, a yellow sub-forum, a yellow sub-forum ... we all live in a yellow s............
