MikeyT Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 It would be really shit if Knocky and Mahrez hated each other Or if Mahrez was a replacement for Knockaert.
mackiepas Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Or if Mahrez was a replacement for Knockaert. Knockhaert loves it here, hes not going anywhere, yet again idiot stringer scaremongering again!
Simonb Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Knockaert s scored 6 multiple assists... not replacing him jus need more options. .. might enable knocky to play a more free game as a number ten behind a front man
cityfanlee23 Posted 7 January 2014 Author Posted 7 January 2014 The words you use are interesting: "nearly had Algeria call ups"(so he's not even been an unused sub), "interest from sides like Torino and Lazio". Given how young players with potential tend to get fast-tracked to their national team these days, if at 22 he still hasn't even had a call up for the Algerian squad, then he may not be as good as you seem to think. As for Lazio and Torino: If he was good enough both of those teams could outbid us if they so wished. The fact that they haven't yet says something. He is by no means a sure thing. That said, I hope you're right and he turns out to be exactly what we need. We are talking about Nigel who has a pretty decent transfer record after all which is why I'm only concerned, not panicking. Regardless of how good he turns out to be, I doubt anyone will care what we paid for him if we're in the Premier League next year. If the unthinkable happens and we stay down this year though, that money could suddenly seem very poorly spent. And what a waste that seemed to be until this season got going. Even now he's turned good, £1m is stupid money for a non-league player however you look at it. I'm just being naturally cautious here, thinking of the worst-case scenario: If Mahrez has difficulty gelling and ultimately takes up a slot in our squad which could have been filled by a more experienced head to help us tip the balance in the promotion push, but instead we end up dropping back to the playoffs because Knocky got injured for a few weeks and Mahrez couldn't fill his boots, then the price quoted would suddenly seem like a lot of money. I understand why you are being cautious, but with regard to that quote... On the international scene: He has competition for right or left wing against Sofiane Feghouli - Valencia (Linked with united and liverpool for around £9m) Yacine Brahimi - Granada and Saphir Sliti Taïder - Inter milan So wouldnt look into it too much, however I know why you're being cautious. He's a leicester signing, so he could be the next ronaldo, or could be as good as me.

MC Prussian Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Transfer fee: 500.000 Euro with add-ons/special clauses. Bargain.
cityfanlee23 Posted 7 January 2014 Author Posted 7 January 2014 Transfer fee: 500.000 Euro with add-ons/special clauses. Bargain. I spoke to Peter chapple hyam straight after an arab owner paid £2.5m for an unraced yearling at tattersalls sales (Horse racing - Newmarket where I live) He said this to me, and although I completely agree he seems a bargain, I will reitterate what he said "That thing is worth absolutely NOTHING yet, Not until he has run" And although I want to put comments like "Awwww riyad running really fast " I am trying to be strong. and will not give in! Let's see how he gets on! And hope to god he is the bargain we hope!! Cannot wait to see him personally. Unless we sign another tricky player, I'm more excited about this guy than anyone. even if we signed berbatov for example. Players like knockaert and (what we think) Riyad, are the exciting prospects that actually justify paying the inflated prices! Cannot wait to see him attacking down the right wing, giving skill shows to left backs. AWWW RIYAD DOING STEPOVERS
Master Fox Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Has he been injured this season? Only played 9 out of the 18 games for Le Havre who are mid table fodder. Bagged two goals though. Looked pretty good against Lens in the youtube. But I'm wondering this.....

Looked pretty good against Lens in the youtube. But I'm wondering this..... Oh how we wanted to believe in his footballing genius, despite there being essentially no evidence of it. "the worst professional footballer I have ever seen' - junior LCFC squad member. It still makes my head spin that we could sign a player, for money, who could be described as such by a team mate
Master Fox Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 God, that shirt was utter horse shit. No wonder we got relegated. I have people who still remind me of that shirt. Things were so bad back then I remember people would shout from the stands "Get Kaebi on!" We were so shit. I trust Nige & Walsh to get it right.
AKCJ Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 God, that shirt was utter horse shit. No wonder we got relegated. Weren't we promoted in that shambles?
davieG Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 His fee might seem high but I guess his wages will be low.

Harry - LCFC Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 It really is ridiculously warped logic to think that a French winger coming in means a French winger is leaving - and that is the reasoning being used as well. No doubt about it. Why, I ask, is there no talk of Dyer being replaced? Because he's English.
cityfanlee23 Posted 7 January 2014 Author Posted 7 January 2014 His fee might seem high but I guess his wages will be low. Could be bargain of the century, Could be a flop At leicester I know which is more likely!!

Ric Flair Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 de Vries is a hero in my eyes, he was the absolute pits. Loved him.
Alexikokopops Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 God, that shirt was utter horse shit. No wonder we got relegated. Last shirt I bought. What a treasure.
Master Fox Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 de Vries is a hero in my eyes, he was the absolute pits. Loved him. I loved the way he would fall over the ball trying to control it. It would bounce around the inside of calf muscles before he was in control of the ball. Looked like he was trying to do step overs. What a player.

Finnegan Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Who even is that?! Hoesin Kaebi. He once tackled Louis Figo, you know.
