Big Dave Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Just played as Le Havre on Fifa, he played on the right, but in my opinion I think we're signing the wrong player. Alexandre Bonnet is the guy we need. ...I take my hat off to you on that shout Sir!
Brooksy Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 If he doesn't showboat, step over 12 times and score with a scorpion kick in his first game, we should get rid. Scorpion kicks don't count.
Bryn Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Scorpion kicks don't count. They do if they're from more than 12 yards.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 On a serious note we do need a player to compliment Knockaert in midfield , all to often only he knows what hes going to do next ...... good players can always read each others game , a bit like Ardiles & Ricardo Villa a few decades ago ......( who ? ) " What do we do with the Argentinians early in the morning?"
Grewks Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Not surprised all the players we have been linked with so far are more forward thinking ones. When we get the nerves, as is inevitable when in such a good position...you have to try and outscore the opposition.

LCFC FOX Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 I'm guessing this will be confirmed a day later on OS

Not when they are young, stand out in their league, are a key player for their side and have international potential (he's nearly had Algeria call ups) + are in demand with interest from sides like Torino and Lazio. Tbh I was expecting about an 800k fee for this guy. but we are out of debt and in a strong position in the league. Now is the time to spend a little money to add that extra quality. Fear not I think he will have been thoroughly scouted and not bought before he is ready.

Fear not I think he will have been thoroughly scouted and not bought before he is ready. The words you use are interesting: "nearly had Algeria call ups"(so he's not even been an unused sub), "interest from sides like Torino and Lazio". Given how young players with potential tend to get fast-tracked to their national team these days, if at 22 he still hasn't even had a call up for the Algerian squad, then he may not be as good as you seem to think. As for Lazio and Torino: If he was good enough both of those teams could outbid us if they so wished. The fact that they haven't yet says something. He is by no means a sure thing. That said, I hope you're right and he turns out to be exactly what we need. We are talking about Nigel who has a pretty decent transfer record after all which is why I'm only concerned, not panicking. Regardless of how good he turns out to be, I doubt anyone will care what we paid for him if we're in the Premier League next year. If the unthinkable happens and we stay down this year though, that money could suddenly seem very poorly spent. Playing at a higher standard than Vardy was. And what a waste that seemed to be until this season got going. Even now he's turned good, £1m is stupid money for a non-league player however you look at it. I'm just being naturally cautious here, thinking of the worst-case scenario: If Mahrez has difficulty gelling and ultimately takes up a slot in our squad which could have been filled by a more experienced head to help us tip the balance in the promotion push, but instead we end up dropping back to the playoffs because Knocky got injured for a few weeks and Mahrez couldn't fill his boots, then the price quoted would suddenly seem like a lot of money.
Jobyfox Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 There is an element of risk with every transfer, but Pearson/Walsh get it right more than most.
kingfox Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Such kowledge and from a reliable source KF. I don't have FM, so it had to be Fifa.
connorlcfc Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 i'm not too keen just yet , youtube highlights mean nothing even in some of them he plays utter dog shite , not worth it from what i've watched

Lets have faith in our recruitment team shall we? Not done too bad on players they've paid actual money for!
Deucalion Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 So when Newsnow highlights a story from the Desert Foxes it might actually be relevant now?!?!
Howard9 Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 This is a really stupid question but are we getting him now or in the summer when his contract is up?
Guest shearfox Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 This is a really stupid question but are we getting him now or in the summer when his contract is up? It seems we are putting down a fee to get him now....
