cuddly ken Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 Don't care about him no more. My new fave is Liam Moore. Class Act, you are on your own now boy.
Langston Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 Nigel Pearson is the only one i'm concerned about losing. Is correct.
cuddly ken Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 Don't care about him no more. My new fave is Liam Moore. Class Act, you are on your own now boy. Kick a man when he's down! Moores a fat bloater!
kingfox Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 Kick a man when he's down! Moores a fat bloater! Least he doesn't spend most weekends in town drinking like Ledge. First think he did when he got back from the US, was go to Ireland for a night out.
Dan Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 Where's the news story about the owners wiping out our debts and securing the long term future of the club? No, instead we get some bullshit article about how the squad is in meltdown only a few days after beating QPR at Loftus Road. All I saw on Saturday was team spirit, determination and a will to win. A lot of time for this.
Babylon Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 Was there an exodus in the summer? No, we just turned down any offers. Which we can do again. I'm sure players do want contracts sorting, it's only natural. Just as I'm sure this wouldn't be the first time the media has been used to try and press the issue.
Aus Fox Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 11 first teamers? Schemichael Morgan Nugent Konchesky Who are the other 7?
volpeazzurro Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 Nothing new then. The only one I'm really bothered about tbh is NP himself. If we didn't go up can't think of anyone else available who I'd want in charge, I think he's done a really good job thus far whether we go up or not. As for the out of contract players: 1. NUGENT - Not good enough if we go up or if we stay down particularly for the money he's on, seems to have lost his appetite and appears to believe himself better than what he actually is, time for a move. 2. SCHMEICAL - Was only ever going to stay realistically if we got promotion (can't blame him, its his career and he's been a good servant), Don't think he'd sign a new contract now even if you offered him one. He for one will be happy to wait and see until the end of the season. 3. MORGAN - Not as good as last year but still good. Borderline Premiership quality, could offer him a deal for if we go up or a deal for if we don't but...would he really risk signing an agreement with Forest at this stage and potentially miss a better chance of going up with us? Its not as if he won't get another club at the end of the season anyway as he's a player that would be in demand. If he wants to go though let him go, he's not THAT good. 4. KONCHESKY - Much maligned by some but I rate him as a thorough professional. Looked as if on his way earlier anyway but remained and has stuck to his task well. If we did go up we would need some stability and older heads even if we did get another left back, we won't be able to buy 11 new players! Wait and see, again if he goes he goes and at his age and he quite rightly will be looking for what could be his last contract, then very good luck to him. 5. DYER - I am biased here as I think the world of this bloke. Yes I know his shooting sometimes leaves a lot be desired and sometimes his end product could be better but hey... if he was perfect he's be playing with Barcelona! What you do get is 100%, speed and excitement and a player who could still upset some Premiership defences even if it was as an impact player. Would really like him to stay, well worth the offer of and either or contract. At the end of the day, I think we won't be the only club doing a wait and see. If any of them want to go than let them. NP is the most important because if the players did go, I would trust him and his team to replace them with even better.
Lobsterboyuk Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 Really bored of this now, I'm happy to let them wait until the summer. If they've done the job and we're in the Prem hope they get something rewarding. If we fail (again) jog on boys and let's build a team for the next three years around the second Pearson era team.
teblin Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 Most know that they will get a contract if we go up. That should be motivation enough.

ibbosuk Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 The Club are totally right in my view, if these players fail to get us promotion, then not really bothered who stays or goes. if they get us up, i don't think many will be looking to leave the club, its a win win situation.
crisp packet Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 Is this not old news ??? We've known this months....
justfoxes Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 You would have to question Nugent's and Morgan, why the f**k would they want to go to Forest?[/quote If they want to go let them! What ever happened to loyalty play for a sodding contract show Pearson and the owners you deserve a new contract and do what your so far contracted to do and payed very well for stop being petulant little shots moaning and just secure our position on this league and get promoted !! LOYALTY SORT YOURSELVES OUT SHOW THEM WHAT YOU ARE WORTH !!!
Monsell1976 Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 The Club are totally right in my view, if these players fail to get us promotion, then not really bothered who stays or goes. if they get us up, i don't think many will be looking to leave the club, its a win win situation. Agree, what better incentive than get promotion and earn a new contract, I am sure the club will be talking to their agents, and telling them something along them lines, and surely the players are not that daft not to know we cannot afford them if we don't go up, well nugent, konchesky and kasper anyway
SMX11 Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 Everyone is in the same boat and the players mentioned are unlikely to get like for like deals elsewhere except maybe Kasper. A bit of reality needs to hit football and I believe we are going about it in the best way possible.
Jace Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 It not just in the clubs benefit but in the players aswell because they're not going to be offered what they want now at least by waiting till the end of the season they may get offered something much better if promoted
Mack Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 Few points on this: The players probably have a tidy bonus coming if they get us up. Other Championship clubs wont be able to offer them huge new contracts either. Whilst I am certain this is on the players minds I would also, given our strong league position, imagine that their best bet right now is to sit tight and see what they can do this term, unless an established Premier League club comes in for them.
Ric Flair Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 Morgan and Nugent are the only two who we might have a problem with. Kasper will be comfortable to wait for the summer as he knows he's going to play in the PL or a top league in Europe regardless. Konchesky knows that we were more than happy for him to leave this season so again if he's playing first team football for us he'll be comfortable to wait and see in the summer. The rest can bollocks. Lloyd Dyer aside who is very loyal and will wait and get what he's given. I'm not arsed if Nugent or Morgan go in next month as long as we can replace them.
Winnershfox Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 Poor reporting to fill columns on sports pages. We all know the score, get us up and earn a prem contract. Dont and we can rebuild on sensible wages. Simple and the correct way to do things.
Happy Fox Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 The only information that we can hold true is that we will delay contract talks till the summer and clearly that will irk some of the players, maybe they feel that the impression that gives is they aren't good enough for promotion. But if they have the right attitude they will work their bollocks off for promotion and a new contract and this doesn't need to be a concern.
Jonezy Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 Why can't the club offer contracts with clauses, so it is clear what wages the player will get, if we don't get promoted; what wages the player will get, if we get promoted; and what wages the player will get in case of promotion and then relegation. Another option is too extend some of the contracts short term and re-negotiate them in the summer. There must be ways to get it sorted, but since it seems like it won't be sorted until summer, it tells me that the club wants to change the contract structure at the club completely and seriously cut down on wages, which will cost some profiles to leave. We need to stop the financial bleeding every year and this is maybe one of the steps to do. Still, I am going to be pissed if Lloyd or Nigel leaves.
MGLCFC Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 Thinking the same Jonezy - surely if we gave them new contracts with big bonuses if we reach the Prem, this would be an incentive to play their hearts out. They could also have release clauses if they want to move on. I suppose the only question is, does Pearson feel these players are good enough for the Prem and if new contracts are offered, they may be of little use if we do make the Prem and we'd be stuck with them (unless F**est want to buy them up).
little Brian Posted 24 December 2013 Posted 24 December 2013 found myself getting a little bit annoyed at Dave Nugents belly-aching to the Leicester Mercurry for the third time recently ..... if he thinks he can get another 25k a week contract out of city....he sadly mistaken having sad that , the likes of Sean St Ledger & Gallagher need f********off first & foremost
