Bert Posted 3 January 2014 Share Posted 3 January 2014 He can piss off. He's turned us down before so why would he now want to come and play for us now....
MGLCFC Posted 3 January 2014 Share Posted 3 January 2014 Bert, didn't Phillips turn us down two years ago when he left Birmingham? Aren't you willing to welcome him into the fold?
Wink Posted 3 January 2014 Share Posted 3 January 2014 I'd trust Pearson's judgement on this IF a deal could be done, seeing as Hull don't want to do any business with us.

Lloydy Dyer Posted 3 January 2014 Share Posted 3 January 2014 A great player - certainly would improve the team and could allow knockaert/dyer to have a match rest once in a while
Fox92 Posted 3 January 2014 Share Posted 3 January 2014 Mate supports Hull and he doesn't rate him one bit. Doesn't mean anything obviously, but I always thought we might go back in for him. Not to bothered about signing him.
Babylon Posted 3 January 2014 Share Posted 3 January 2014 well they've just had new investment haven't they? Plus, saint etienne has said gradel will cost around 4/5 million and Leeds look set to buy wells for around 3, so they might have some money... They are still bound by the same FFP rules as us. They were already running at a loss on their last accounts. If the losses are still running at the same level they could make a further £6m loss on top of what they already were, but they would then have to cut back even more next year. So unless their owners want to chuck FFP in the bin they won't be spending that kind of money.

cjslcfc Posted 3 January 2014 Share Posted 3 January 2014 At least it would be some backup. Personally unsure as he seems to have faded away, but it happens to lots of players. Nige got the best out of him at Hull so I trust his ability to do so here. We can't do that much better for a winger as backup, surely?
Aus Fox Posted 3 January 2014 Share Posted 3 January 2014 Clearly Hull have deemed he is not good enough for the premier league, so I don't think he would be what we are looking for now.

The Horse's Mouth Posted 3 January 2014 Share Posted 3 January 2014 I honestly doubt we are considering him, Journo/Agent are just putting in names to boost the lads cache.
shearfox Posted 3 January 2014 Share Posted 3 January 2014 His best time was when Pearson was manager, if we got him I trust Pearson can get him back on form ... maybe it would do him good to come here
TJB-fox Posted 4 January 2014 Share Posted 4 January 2014 Hes been chucked here there and everywhere so most likely looking for a manager that will put faith in him and play him in the correct position. Pearson had him firing on all cylinders before at dull so for him to come here as back-up, would be decent I think. Not a bloke that will rock the boat/demand huge wages either. Plus, a good loan spell could lead to a permanent deal, which would give us another hungry young player. plus he'll already know a lot of the lads because he was at United with the likes of dd, james, de laet etc

ollielcfc Posted 6 January 2014 Share Posted 6 January 2014 Looks like we may have missed out on this one, but NP's probably more focused on the signing of Mahrez - hence the agreeing of a fee today (if reports are to be believed).

And that may be the case, in reality we don't know the reasons for not signing him so it's just speculation either way. However, Pearson won't be fretting we can all be sure of that. Jobyfox Posted 6 January 2014 Share Posted 6 January 2014 Didn’t the Hull City chairman say that he would never sell a player to Nigel Pearson? We ought to test that resolve by offering £32m and Martyn Waghorn!
