DrFox Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Some people are beginning to ask if we really want to be on the Prem? A smallish fish in a much bigger sea might seem less fun than being top dog? What do people think?
purpleronnie Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 We're not really a big fish though are we. Every fan should want their team to be in the top league, even if that means we lose more than we win.
Bert Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Why wouldn't you? There's no reason with strengthening why we couldn't stay up, and it's one of the best leagues in the world.
Fox92 Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Yes. It's the top flight. We'd strengthen, obviously... I don't get why people think we would try and compete without improving this squad.
Mark_w Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 I just want Pearson to still be our manager next year.
rico Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 We need Premiership football,it's been too long........
Voll Blau Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 The only downsides for me are being priced out of going to games, and having kick-off times mucked about more often. Everyone should want their club to be playing at the highest level they can and be challenging for silverware.
FuriousFox46 Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 What exactly is the alternative? Aim for 7th in the Championship every season?
bovril Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 One season, pocket the cash, and get relegated back to playing proper football. (obviously if we got relegated I'd be gutted, but still....)
The Horse's Mouth Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 ofcourse we want to be in the prem . **** this league
sylofox Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Shut up shop.fill it with water and call it the KP fish bowl. If you don't have the ambition to play at the highest level you might as well quit. If fans do not have that ambition they are not fans and should fvck off.
DrFox Posted 14 January 2014 Author Posted 14 January 2014 Those who fear endless relegation fights, frequent defeats and being reminded we're not as big as the top 6 should consider that we have underachieved over the last 100 years as the only club in the 10th biggest city in the UK. The city should be able to sustain a top 10 club and we should not fear we are not capable of it; Derby and Forest did it in the past with a smaller fan base
One Legged Beaver Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Yes. Much rather watch us test ourselves against Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal etc than the Barnsley and Yeovil's of this world.
dog_4 Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 We get promoted we give Nigel another 2 years to establish his team in the premiership! None of this sacking after 10 games. Its a hole new level. Having said that when we only won 3 in 19 there was no chanting for Nigel out. Its a perfect fit and I think everyone realises it!!!!
purpleronnie Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Only 38 games in a season is a bit shite. Not if we win both cups.
bovril Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Shut up shop.fill it with water and call it the KP fish bowl. If you don't have the ambition to play at the highest level you might as well quit. If fans do not have that ambition they are not fans and should fvck off. I'd support Leicester if they were in the Conference South and have even more fun doing so than if we were in the Prem. And I've met plenty of fans of other clubs who enjoy being in the lower leagues more than being in the Premiership. I would love it if we went up, firstly for the glory and then the financial security it would give to the club. But I wouldn't enjoy the football that much. Should I **** off now then?
FuriousFox46 Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Those who fear endless relegation fights, frequent defeats and being reminded we're not as big as the top 6 should consider that we have underachieved over the last 100 years as the only club in the 10th biggest city in the UK. DrFox Posted 14 January 2014 Author Posted 14 January 2014 Some people want to remain small and like the security of ot all. It is these people who think Leicester is a small city Let's think ourselves big instead; the stadium, the club and the city. Itself can be so much more if it loses it's inferiority complex
dayday Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 We're not really a big fish though are we. Every fan should want their team to be in the top league, even if that means we lose more than we win. Our average attendances in the prem would be in the top 12,so i don't get this small fish in a big pond.
Jace Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Na I don't want to be in the Premiership we need to start losing now PEARSON OUT HES TOO GOOD
Guest ttfn Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Only 38 games in a season is a bit shite. This is what will be the main blow for me. Lose 4 games a season off any season ticket and the prices will go up, which is not ideal. May move my season ticket out of the West Stand if we go up.
dmayne7 Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Stupid thread. Of course we do. If in 10 years we've put a mid-table prem team doing nothing then you might have a point but otherwise you don't.
Kitchandro Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 ofcourse we want to be in the prem . **** this league Couldn't have put it better myself. Sick to the back teeth of this league. I can barely remember what it's like being a top flight club. Imagine how much pride we'd have being one of the elite. Having the right to play against the best sides in the country because we earnt it. Big crowds, big matches, better players playing for us. Agree with Voll Blau, there are downsides but jeez, what exactly did you think we were doing here? You understand the meaning of sport, right?
