katieakita Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Just think who Nigel will buy when we go up. A higher quality of player we have never heard of
bovril Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Agree with Voll Blau, there are downsides but jeez, what exactly did you think we were doing here? You understand the meaning of sport, right? You're right, but the Premiership has nothing to do with the meaning of sport.
Kitchandro Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 You're right, but the Premiership has nothing to do with the meaning of sport. Being the best you can is the meaning of sport. Being competitive, striving to reach the heights. Playing against the best and trying to beat the best.
Micky Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Here's a question then.... How much money would the owners commit in the premier?
lgfualol Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Of course not, definitely should stay in this league or league 1. **** going up, playing against big teams and getting more money for the club and city. I'd rather play Yeovil.
SystonFox Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 No. I am against modern football. Queue a sloop john b chant and pyro.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 My formative years were those heady days under O'Neill, growing up on Cup Finals and forays into Europe. I want a taste of that again. Look at Southampton, making the leap and doing well can be done in this day and age. Plus we have cash behind us, a Burnley or someone like that would have much less of a chance of staying up than we have
LCCFox96 Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Its a right of passage we must take to reach our full potential as a club. Come what may we need to go up to strengthen and best the best football club we can. I just hope that is with Nigel at the helm.
Guest shearfox Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Yes, why not... if you want the club to progress and keep hold of our best players we need PL football, you can't stay in a second tier forever because you win more games.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Saturday just can't come quickly enough.
fleckneymike Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Couldn't care less. I like entertaining football, what league we play that in doesn't really matter. I will say I do like the unpredictability of this league though.
bovril Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 I'm a bit of a contrary bastard and my feeling towards the hordes of 'pool and Man U fans that I grew up with (I'm not from Leicester) is: fvck them, I'm not going to cry my eyes out if we don't get promoted to their poxy plastic tosspot league. As long as we're playing good football and I'm surrounded by City fans I don't care if it's the Premiership or the Evo-Stick. I don't expect anybody to agree, I'm a bit weird like that But yeah, I'll cheer louder than anybody if we go up this year. Just for the glory like... MOTD can shove it up their perma-tanned arses.

Mack Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 We have no choice. Our finances are set up for that sole purpose, and without the increased revenue stream that even a single season generates we are not viable as a club financially. That aside don't you think this group of players deserves a crack at it anyway? And if they play like they did against Derby half of the Premier Leagues sides would struggle to compete.
Jace Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 It was horrible when we were there before under Martin O Neill much more enjoyable being in the Championship, we need to bring someone in like Craig Levein he would make sure we don't go anywhere
TheStig Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Some people are beginning to ask if we really want to be on the Prem? A smallish fish in a much bigger sea might seem less fun than being top dog? What do people think? No of course not. Lets get relegated and be even bigger in League 1. Have you lost it completely??? Yours speechless!
Donut Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Would anyone seriously rather not be in the premiership? If someone genuinely would rather not be in the premiership, they should sign a disclaimer that theyll never moan when we lose, or players have a bad game, or the atmosphere was poor, because all of those factors will contribute to the mediocrity they crave.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 See Freemans Wharfers post in the other thread.
fleckneymike Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 But you want us to do well, right? I want us to play entertaining football, if we 'do well' then that is a bonus but ultimately I just want to see exciting matches. I see no point in 'being Stoke'.
Jace Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 The thing I would miss the most will be staying up late on a Saturday night just to watch the football league show
GingerrrFox Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 The excitement of the Premiership is getting there. Once you are there, you realise that you are there just to make up the numbers whilst Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United battle for what really matters.
