ithuriel Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Was has done alright for us playing in the centre, only when he plays right back is he a total disaster but we are now down to two experienced centre halves for about a month, if we can buy a decent central defender who has potential to play in the Prem now might be the time to do so.
MrSpaM Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Wasilewski is decent cover at CB, fair enough he's not that great at RB, but I've seen nothing to suggest he can't to a job in the center next to Wes
Unabomber Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Ha ha. Ok then Yep. Spot on. Do you think Keane is better than Wasilewski?
Bluetintedspecs Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 I think some are being a tad harsh on Was, personally at CB I feel he looks pretty commanding. Yes he has over committed on a few occasions but he's certainly far from a liability imo.
Dickov22 Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Do you think Keane is better than Wasilewski? 100% yes. I think Keane is top class.
suffolk fox Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Was is a centreback not a full back. When he has played next to Morgan in the heart of the defence he has been solid. We do not need Keane or Whitbread.
Unabomber Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 100% yes. I think Keane is top class. Fair enough, you are entitled to your opinion of course even if it is incredulous.
suffolk fox Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 100% yes. I think Keane is top class. You should go to Specsavers. Yes, Keane was top class for Derby against us wasn't he.
Carl the Llama Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Michael Keane quote - "I forgot how much of a dump this place was" - journey into Leicester for the Derby game. That overrated chump can rot in that average Derby team. Of course he's going to say that to his Derby teammates. He's a mercenary, he says what those around him want to hear and gets on with it. He'd go on about how pleased he is to be back if we signed him, not that I can see Nige doing so. If Miquel's back to fitness then we have enough cover between him and Was until Liam's back. Think we need another defensive injury before Nige turns to the market.
Dickov22 Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 You should go to Specsavers. Yes, Keane was top class for Derby against us wasn't he. No he was average. As average as Moore and Morgan were against Bolton. One bad game doesn't make a bad player. Throughout his time here last season, I thought Keane was very good. Considering we tried to sign him again for this season, looks like Pearson did too. I'd be happy to see him come back. We are short on numbers and he'd provide good competition and cover.
GingerrrFox Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Keane won't make it at United and will end up in the Championship or doing a Ryan Shawcross if he's lucky. Would like Ake on loan from Chelsea, but they have been talking about keeping him for the season and definitely won't send him somewhere if he won't play regular games.
foxfanazer Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Keane was alright to be fair. No better than Was though imo. Was at cb is solid with Wes
XLM Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Miquel is fit again now anyway and Wasyl is a quality centre back. No need to sign anyone.
Mack Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Keane has potential but made mistakes while with us before. For me it felt like he was service his apprenticeship in our side, learning about what you can and cant get away with. That's great for Man Utd, but not so good as a Foxes fan when you cant afford the errors. Was I the only one who also thought he looked like he had not progressed much when he played against us for Derby lately? I'd rather see Wasilewski / Miguel play than get Keane back.
Number 6 Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Obviously I prefer Moore to Was, but Was is there as back up and he is more than capable of doing that. If Miguel is able to occupy the bench then I see no reason for us needing anyone else.
lgfualol Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Miquel is miles better than Keane. Keane was lucky he had big Wes to back him up. Was and Wes will be delicious together.
Corky Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Was is a very good defender, a solid centre back but there's always the chance he'll do something ridiculous and needless which could cost us a bit. If he leaves that stuff out there's no real problem.

If he leaves that stuff out there's no real problem. Indeed, 99% of the time he's absolutely fine. Then the old rush of blood comes and he goes charging out, he needs to learn to just take a step back and let them play in front of him if there is no cover.
AKCJ Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Wasyl is a very good centre half but a very shit right back.
Dickov22 Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Indeed, 99% of the time he's absolutely fine. Then the old rush of blood comes and he goes charging out, he needs to learn to just take a step back and let them play in front of him if there is no cover. He's 33. He's unlikely to change his style of play now. Diving in is a basic error
Ric Flair Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Not got a problem with Wasyl stepping in. His experience is invaluable and he might get turned by attackers but Moore is guilty of backing off them and not clearing his lines which can be just as costly. I'd only look to bring in someone else if Miquel isn't back by the weekend. Forgot about Nathan Ake, he'd be quality.
Kitchandro Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 No he was average. As average as Moore and Morgan were against Bolton. One bad game doesn't make a bad player. We are short on numbers and he'd provide good competition and cover. Dude, come off it, he was average for us. At fault for many goals. He's not even in the same league as Morgan or Moore (soon to be meant very literally).

He's not even in the same league as Morgan or Moore (soon to be meant very literally). I disagree. That's football- everyone is entitled to opinions. I thought he was very good last season. I've not once said he's better than Morgan or Moore. But he's definitely better than Wasilewski in my opinion. Time will tell with him.

Keane was good for us last season, but he had the ability to be bullied by opposing teams. That might have been harsh on a kid in a team who went on a horrible run towards the end of the season compared to a team who is now absolutely flying but i'm glad he's not with us this season.
