brisfox Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Am I the only one who will have some regrets if we do get promoted? I like playing on Saturdays, I like winning a lot ,I like being able to get tickets that I don't have to pay for with a mortgage, I like the unpredictability of the league,. Thoughts?
Stadt Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Undoubtedly the prem will be great but will it be fun if we're stuck in mid table for years just making the numbers up, not challenging but not fighting relegation either? I think it'd be boring but if we can challenge for trophies and a Europa league place then great.
Mitch14 Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 More likely to play Saturday in the Prem...at least Saturday or Sunday. No Friday night/Thursday Night matches
elangLCFC Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Obviously want to be promoted but I will miss the charm of this league a bit.
Fox92 Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 No... I've been a STH since 02/03, I've only seen one season in the PL and I can't really remember it. No disrespect like, I've enjoyed my trips to the likes of Cheltenham and Barnsley, but the chance of playing the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United, against players such as Aguero and Suarez, is very appealing. The only thing I can add, is that if we were to stay in the PL, then I'd want us to win trophies. We'll never win the league because it's dominated by money, see Manchester City and Chelsea, but I don't want to just "make up the numbers" if we are there for a while, like Fulham etc. But, one step at a time, I want to win promotion and I want to stay there.
Steven Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 For those that are so in love with the Championship, I believe Forest are always looking for fans.
bovril Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 We've dicussed this before, haven't we. I want us to win the league for the glory and for the good it will do to our club. But I won't enjoy the football more. All the bullshit that goes with the Premiership is completely intolerable... plastic fans, diving players (ok it happens in the Champ but it is worse in the Prem), Alan Shearer on MOTD, getting thumped by a club whose first XI costs the same as the GDP of Macedonia, scousers.....But we need to get there and winning the league is the least this team deserves.
Danizen Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 I will enjoy the unpredictability of this league a lot more as an outsider. I love watching a game not knowing (or having a very good idea) who's going to win.
Poznan34 Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 No, we've been out of the Prem for too long. It would be great to Leicester on MOTD.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Sick of this league we've been in it too long with same teams same shit refs and I hope we go up just to freshen it up
ashfosse Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 get promoted. have 1 season in the prem getting a few good results at home against a top team or two, pocket the tv money then get relegated. pocket the parachute payments, then invest the money into the academy and young players. build the club for long term success. FM style. WYS
Langston Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 The "charm of the Championship" is saying goodbye to the godforsaken thing on your way out of it.
shailen Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 It's like asking the difference between a fine dining experience and eating at mcdonalds

I've seen some stupid posts in my time but tis must be the worst
brisfox Posted 8 February 2014 Author Posted 8 February 2014 Don't get me wrong. I want promotion, I was just saying that there are things about the championship I like
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 It wouldn't be always be great for long patches but when you get surprise results against the huge teams, they make up for the goalless draws against Stoke etc
LanguedocFox Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Personally I loved every season we were in the Premiership apart from the last two: the one that started under Failure against Bolton, and the one where we lasted just the one season. I lived in London then, but I travelled all over to see City: I was at Old Traffold when Cottee scored the only goal of the game, I was at the marvellous 3-all draw at Filbo with Arsenal (where Walshy's equaliser overshadowed - IMO - Bergkamp's hat-trick) and I was at White Hart Lane when we beat Spurs 2-0 about six weeks after we lost the League Cup final to them. Happy days. What's happened this season has been great, but I want us to compete with the best again: and I think we have a manager and the basis of a squad that can more than hold their own.
lcfc1994 Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Nah, we need a season in the premier league (is it even called the premiership anymore? ) this league is just shit and ten years outside the top flight is too long. Cheaper ticket prices and games away at doncaster and yeovil wont beat away days at anfield, old trafford etc and the chance of european football. Does anyone know if anything would change with Radio Leicester, like rights and that sort of stuff?
Guest Col city fan Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 I won't miss the Championship one little bit. I've had enough of it, I want to see how we'd kick on against the best and I want to see the best players in action too. Bring it on!

AlphaMaleFox Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Reading current 'Championship' FoxesTalk match threads, I dread to think about future 'Premiership' ones...
