Banks Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Davies bottles it in the playoffs, Forest won't go up.
Fox92 Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Translation: Oh please oh please oh please let Forest get promoted, they're such a big club with a great history and great city and omg nosh nosh gobble gobble slurp slurp suckle gobble nosh. Well I've been a STH at Leicester for 11 years now, so as I said if we were to go up then I don't mind who comes up with us because I've seen us in the PL once and nobody is going to ruin the experience.
Happy Fox Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 At least get it f**king right East Midlands! NOT Midlands.
lavrentis Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 At least get it f**king right East Midlands! NOT Midlands. East Midlands is in the Midlands isn't it ?
Happy Fox Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 East Midlands is in the Midlands isn't it ? Yes I was just being pedantic.
Dan Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Bring one of them with us so that we're the genuine derby for them that season. Not both. Burnley & Derby would suit me as it means both Forest & QPR have missed out - the latter two have been an embarrassment this season. I'd have no complaints if Derby were replaced there however by a random team coming into the play-offs. Can't be arsed with Reading. Despite Dyche turning a bit annoying I'd certainly rather Burnley went up when you see the other options.
Dan Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 **** em, we're all on our own. We're premier league, we're all on our own. Honestly, local games are okay but we don't have the most exciting derbies and if you can't get fired up for United, Liverpool, Chelsea, etc then what's the point of promotion? I'd get much more satisfaction out of being leagues above them again. Having them enjoy the benefits of the prem just so we get to play them twice a year and listen to how passionately they don't care? Yawn. I'm actually getting genuinely bored of Forest. Another valid argument to be fair. Yeh sod it. Keep them both down here and let them start focusing on each other rather than how much they supposedly don't care about us.
Finnegan Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 By the way, THIS is the thread we won't live down if we bottle it.
Tringfox Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 I wonder what price the bookies are offering for all three clubs to be promoted??
BrummieFOX Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 I'd normally say I'd want this, purely for a few local derbies each season but the 'hype' around them the last few years has got so tiresome. It now just involved Forest/Derby saying they don't give a shit and it's not a rivalry and our fans going out of our way to point out that they do actually care a little bit. It' not what a derby should be about. Happy for them to stay down grappling for a play-off place. Although a Derby/Forest Play-off Final would be great.
CosbehFox Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 I would welcome it. I'd much prefer to play them. You'd add spice and less travelling for a fixture rather than playing Cardiff or Norwich. I'd would also back us home and away against Derby and Forest at home. That's coming from a nervous, doesn't want to believe it wreck.
Corky Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 No thanks, bored of the "we don't care/ we do care/ does anyone care?" round of tedium four times a season. Yes they are local games but Nottingham Forest's ticket allocation is so small it's barely worth getting excited about as so few fans manage to get there and Derby bring hardly anyone nowadays to our place. We'll have plenty of big games next year should we go up, I can cope without these matches.
purpleronnie Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 As much as I dislike them I think Forest will get promoted this season. Whether thats 2nd place or Playoff winners.
The Doctor Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Having derby come up and thus starting the season on 6 points would be lovely. Forest? **** em, I'd love to see the FFP crash and burn.
PerfumePonce Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 If I was to pick one out of two it'd be Derby. Mainly because they seem to have got to the position they are in more fairly than Forest (FFP etc). Both of them going up would be annoying as the main derby everyone would be raving about would be the reach around, ball tickling, arse licking Forest v Derby fixtures so we'd take a backseat which would be abit frutrating. I think it would be nice to have a derby in the Prem though. Although I am looking forward to becoming Liverpool's bogey team again. However, having all three up would bring back memories of my sticker collection in the nineties. Just need Wimbledon and Leeds back up...
MikeyT Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 As someone has said above, as long as we go up, then I'm not fussed who joins us.
foxes1988 Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 If we finish champs in a way i dont care if both of them come up too as i dont think their Promotions would take away from our title. Absoloutley love talking about us as potential Champions rather then can we make it into the autos or stay in the play offs like in previous seasons.
Kitchandro Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 The more I think about it the more unbearable I think it will be with Derby & Forest in the Prem.
Leicesterpool Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 I liked to see Forest come up with us in second, so we can have one big derby to look forward to plus there's more of an atmosphere in Forest and Leicester derby. I'd also like to see Brighton come up via the play offs, so we've got at least one seaside away next season aswell. anyone agree?
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 I really don't care who will go up, as long as we have progressed to the top flight, but I quite like the thought of 'Arry's lot coming up with us, and maybe Burnley.
Mark_from_USA Posted 12 February 2014 Author Posted 12 February 2014 Outside of Norwich, Between Yorkshire and London there is no team in the Premiership East of Birmingham. The geometry of this map would change and the East Midlands would be back on it! http://billsportsmaps.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/2013-14_premier-league_attendance-map_2013-14-kit-badges_i_.gif As an aside you should spend time on this guys site. Its wonderful to see the geography of sports teams through the years, all over the world.
Manwell Pablo Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 I can't see either doing enough to get Automatic at this moment in time, both have good sides but seem to be incapable of winning enough games to make decent headway on us QPR and Burnley, every time they get close they drop silly points, they're both permanently playing catch up. If I had to say one Ideally Derby, our recent form against them is much better and if Forest do get up their in a better position to consolidate and build in the Prem and nobody want's that. It'd be a novelty to turn their "all on your own" chant around on them both too, I'd quite like to see us and Burnley although my money would still be on QPR, and a Ipswich or a Brighton breaking from the pack to claim the last play off place and go up as the form side, sides that would struggle to hold down a place in that league for longer than a couple of seasons at best would be better for us although on current evidence I do think a lower mid table finish could be achieved by this side at the minute never mind after a pre-season of strengthening. There are some ropey sides in the Prem at the moment.
LeicesterBran Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 I think that Derby will go up and if so it'd be great to have a East Midlands Derby. Reckon Forest, will bottle it in the play offs. Same applies to QPR. Want either Burnley or Brighton to go up too.
maynefox Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Not too sure about this. On the one hand they can both settle their "derby" in the Championship if they don't care about us. You never know say if only Derby came up it could reignite that lost rivalry seen in the Premiership, near the end of the previous century. I wouldn't mind Derby coming up, I think the rivalry could spark again .... I could not stand both of them with us!!
