Forest fans seem very confident about this game.

Just talking to a forest fan i know and he told me we are very lucky to be top and that if forest had had our luck this season they would be 20 points clear at the top.

I just smiled and politely agreed.

Such a nice level headed bunch those red fellows....not a deluded chav amongst them.

My mates a tree he said to me on Saturday watching our non league local side that forest would win the fa cup and finish second in the league, I just laughed amd said u smoking I want some, then wen they lost on sunday he was all quite ha ha come on you blues, lets beat the trees

Getting very excited for this game!
I just hope that we strike fear into them from the off (not all out attacking!) but an attitude that states to them we are here to win; which will evidently be shown through the wingers' attack and the dictatorial control of the midfield by Drinky/James. I pray we go out in a mentality that we want to win and not park the bus. I do believe that we have that Fear Factor and we should use it to our advantages (ie not be scared of Forest).

One day to go :scarf:

Shame if you got struck down with a severe case of the sh1ts 10 mins before you have to go out would it not ;)

That happened to me season before last, Forest at home. Literally just about to leave and about shat my organs out. Then headed out and had to turn back a mile down the road for another bout. By the time I'd got out of Birstall the traffic was a nightmare. Parked up miles away, cabbed it as close to the ground as possible and sat for 90 minutes (just got there for kickoff) while the dullest 0-0 played out. The whole time wondering if I was about to squelch my pants. Luckily managed to get home without shitting myself but it was a terrible night!

Police release statement about the racist chanting.

I saw this too and wondered why. I've not heard (or heard of) racist chanting at any game involving City since the bad old days when Leeds were in the Premiership. Mind you, I don't get to that many live matches now.

Is it a problem?

February 18, 2014

The force has issued the following statement ahead of Nottingham Forest’s match against Leicester City tomorrow (Wednesday 19 February, kick-off 7.45pm).

The game is expected to see in excess of 28,000 supporters attend, and working with both clubs, the force wants fans to enjoy the game, but warns that racist chanting will not be accepted.

Supt Mark Holland, the match commander, said: “When these two teams have met previously there has been a small minority of people who have started or joined in with racist chants. Alongside the clubs we are taking a zero-tolerance approach to this type of verbal abuse and we will be taking positive action to identify anyone who is involved. We want everyone to enjoy the game for what it is – two teams competing to improve their chances of gaining promotion.

“Nationwide the Football Association is determined to kick out racism and it is simply not acceptable in any form. Both clubs fully back this zero-tolerance approach and Nottingham Forest also host an antisocial behaviour text service that allows people to report any such behaviour.

“This is a big game for both clubs and we want supporters to enjoy the match without being offensive to others with chants which are likely to cause offence.â€

Nottingham Forest media and communications manager Ben White fully endorsed the message. He said: “The club will not tolerate this kind of antisocial behaviour at The City Ground and will take the strongest possible action against anyone who is involved in such behaviour.

“We are active in our efforts to remove this type of abuse from our matches and we will not condone any form of chant that may be perceived as racist or offensive, aimed towards our own or the visiting supporters.

“We would like to work with supporters to provide the most enjoyable match day experience we can and fully encourage them to use our ‘text reporting facility’ in order to report any behaviour that they feel is offensive.â€

A spokesman for Leicester City said: “There is no place for any form of discrimination in football or in wider society and Leicester City wholly supports the efforts of Nottinghamshire Police to encourage an atmosphere that is inclusive for all. Players and supporters have the right to participate in a matchday that is free from prejudice and we would urge supporters to report any activity which compromises this to the police.â€

Details of the Nottingham Forest text reporting facility can be found on each match ticket or in the matchday programme.

What's the number for the text reporting facility?

Rang forest today in the vain hope they may have a couple of hundred on sale on the night for away fans (I know some clubs have done that sort of thing).

The bugger laughed at me and said Leicester have had their full allocation.

So annoyed I am missing this one, I haven't missed a Forest game in years, truly hate them and the fact I am missing this one makes me hate them more.

Thought about going in their end (done it at a few places in the past, eg the Baseball Ground many years ago and at Cov many years ago), but never done it at Forest so not sure where to go where me and my 13 yr old would be ok.

Come on Leicester, give them a good bloody hiding.

I hate Forest and I don't care if they don't hate us.

I HATE THEM

Our thoughts ahead of tomorrow night...

We’re all on our own? Fine by us…18FEB

Off we pop to Forest.

Not that anyone cares. ‘The Garibaldi’ (apparently) in particular could not give even the tiniest of shits.

That’s okay though. As long as they beat Derby to the Brian Clough trophy and finish above the Sheep then all is well in the world. It doesn’t matter that the ‘other’ team in the East Midlands is dominating their league almost as much as the Red Dogs dominate the coverage on a certain BBC regional news programme. It doesn’t matter that Tony Knockaert scored in May and brought about an even more premature end to what would likely be yet another miserable play-off campaign.

It’s a type of biscuit, you absolute helmets

In fact, it matters so little to Billy Davies and his merry men that over the past fortnight they have professed their love for hating Derby so many times over, it is beginning to feel a little like the boy in the playground picking on a girl who he really quite likes.

What has happened to the ‘proud, traditional’ club from the ‘world famous’ City Ground? Fans that once (twice, sorry) cheered European Cup wins are now turning up in Sheikh gear, setting up joint twitter profiles for the Forest/Derby lovalry, fawning over Jack Hobbs and planning imaginary trips to Wembley.

trophy.jpg?w=310

An actual trophy? And there was us thinking the Old Firm, El Superclasico etc were the dog’s bollocks when it comes to rivalries eh?

It’s a long way from Clough’s era where they competed for trophies. They now appear to be settling for not worse than Derby. Some achievement that, lads.

A win tomorrow for City and we can wave goodbye to the Reds for a while.

Let's do them. It's the smugness for me. Forest could be in the midst of a conference relegation battle and they would still be smug. And it's that manager too, he's due to a bottle sooner or later.

Here's how the table looks if we lose or win:

Pos    Team          P     Pts         Pos    Team          P     Pts
1        Leicester   31     67          1        Leicester   31     70

2        Burnley     31     60           2        Burnley     31     60

3        Derby        31     58          3        Derby        31     58

4        Forest       31     57          4        QPR          31     56

5        QPR          30     56          5        Forest       30     54

6        Reading    31     50          6        Reading    31     50

Either way we look pretty up there with clean air between us and second place.  Given the importance of some of their missing players I'd put my money on City winning 3-1(Vardy 1 on 1 round the keeper after a Nugent through ball, Drinkwater from 15 yards after a Nugent backheel, Mahrez into the top-left corner from the middle of the box after mazily dribbling through 3 defenders from the right touchline where he received the ball from a Nugent cross-field pass - I don't know, Lascelles from a corner or something) in a closely fought encounter(1-1 at half time, then 2 goals in the last half hour).

The Forest fan is a right tool, proper football hipster.
