lancyclaret Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Presuming Leicester go up, who would you want in the first 5/6 matches?...if we go up again, I'd hope for a slightly easier start than last time. Our first 5 were: Stoke (a), Man United (h), Everton (h), Chelsea (a), Liverpool (a). Then we had an easy home game Sunderland before away to Spurs.
KIRBYFOX93 Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Man United Opening game of the season would be awesome.
weller54 Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 We'll be trotting out at Old Trafford and Forest at Griffin Park '!!
lancyclaret Posted 27 February 2014 Author Posted 27 February 2014 I wonder how Cardiff fans are feeling at the moment? All those near-misses in the last 7/8 years, finally go up and now it looks odds-on that they will be back in the Championship next season with a "mad" owner.
MattFox Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 They usually give you one of the top 4 sides as the 1st or 2nd match dont they?
LanguedocFox Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 I think it's a bit too early to say, because at the moment any team from West Ham (10th, 31 points) downwards could get relegated. But if (IF) we went up, I would like us to have a relatively easy couple of games in the first three or four so we can get a few points on the board: but we'll probably have Chelsea away to start with, followed by Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool. Interesting question will be who comes down from there: I think Cardiff are doomed, but I fancy Stoke for the drop and Palace to stay up. Who else?
lancyclaret Posted 27 February 2014 Author Posted 27 February 2014 This year Hull had Chelsea away first up. I also think Cardiff are a hopeless case (Malky Mackay would have kept them up I am sure). The other two are harder to predict - I thought Fulham were looking bad but I have a feeling that this Felix Magath will save them. I remember him as a player and he was an out-and-out winner. I was hoping West Ham, but I'll plump for Norwich and West Brom. The Baggies also made a big mistake in sacking Steve Clarke and the Spanish chap Pepe Mel is taking too long to find his feet. So for me, Cardiff, Norwich and West Brom.
cc_star Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 If we go up, it would be great to get a big game to kick things off, followed by a few of 'easier' ones so we can get some points on the board and build some confidence in 'winnable' fixtures Last thing we'd want is Chelsea Liverpool Man City Arsenal Sitting with potentially zero points on the board near the end of September would be a killer Something like should start us off with a bang, followed by a run of games to have a good chance of getting some points on the board ManUtd Palace Villa Norwich Lets just hope we're not Millwall Doncaster Sheffield Wednesday Forest
Kitchandro Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 I wouldn't be too bothered who we got, whoever it is it will be massive.
Xen Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Man United Opening game of the season would be awesome. I agree - nice easy start to the season which could potentially see us top temporarily
Dan Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 I wouldn't be too bothered who we got, whoever it is it will be massive. "Leicester City v Burnley"
Lionator Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Burnley, be nice to start off with a comfortable 3 points.
LanguedocFox Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Villa Away would be class. Do you think Villa are safe??
foxes_rule1978 Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 I would like to see some points on the board so home games to the teams that come up would be nice...
LC/FC Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Straight in, mad as a hatter, I'd like to see the Championship Winners vs the Premiership Winners, whoever they may be.
LCCFox96 Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Most promoted sides normally start with an exuberant performance on the first game purely because of momentum. With that in mind it may be good to get one of the bigger sides at home out of the way first. Would love Liverpool (h) in the first game.
Guest Bilo Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Tottenham (H) Everton (A) Southampton (H) Aston Villa (A) Crystal Palace (A)
lcfcfan23 Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 wouldnt mind a winnable first fixture tbh, ie: norwich at home. get some points on the board from the go
Matt Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Easy 3 points if we play Man Utd with Moyes still in charge.
Bert Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Villa away would be the dream first game of the season for me.
