LanguedocFox Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 Portsmouth have sacked their manager - http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/26765666 - again, and they are only two points off the relegation spots - with Northampton on a bit of a roll. Could happen that they will be non-League next season.
Leicester1884Filbert Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 Feel sorry for the supporters greatly, they were in the fa cup final 5-6 years back, now they are fighting for pro status.
Strokes Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 Couldn't happen to a nicer club, ta ra pompey, I will miss your cow bell
RobHawk Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 Feel sorry for the supporters greatly, they were in the fa cup final 5-6 years back, now they are fighting for pro status. Its the supporters association who hired and then sacked him! who says fans know best? I know our lot don't anyway! God knows where we would be now if the majority had got their way last season and Pearson had been sacked!
The Horse's Mouth Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 Always had a bit of a soft spot for them, I hope they don't end up in conference.

God knows where we would be now if the majority had got their way last season and Pearson had been sacked! agreed, so many people were calling for him to go, disgrace to the club if you ask me, im still a young un (15) but i have never once said a manager needs to be sacked or should go, just back them and hopefully it will come good.
Lamby Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 We played them down there in pre-season and it was pay what you want to get in, so of course I paid £1. They got themselves in this mess, they should get themselves out of it without help from others.

Leicesterpool Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 Thursday 27th November 2008- Portsmouth 2-2 AC Milan Saturday 10th August 2014- Portsmouth v Nuneaton Borough How can that happen?
Corky Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-chasing-o-hara-swoop-1-5963883 They've clearly learnt their lesson, spending quite large money on players Dear me.

Usual press crap. I doubt if they were offering a loan fee or much in the way of wages.

LanguedocFox Posted 27 March 2014 Author Posted 27 March 2014 You're genuinely one of the biggest bellends on this forum. I don't agree with what Lamby did, but your suggestion is a bit extreme. We do seem to have more than our fair share of bellends, though not as many as the Forest Fans forum - which goes without saying, of course. I hope you agree that my edit is an improvement.
Webbo Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 For most of my life Portsmouth have been a lower league team, if they do go down they'll come back again and resume their natural position amongst the lower leagues.

What happened during those years, how many seasons did you ground share with Palace?
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 Lived beyond their means while Harry was manager, had some glory but at what cost long term? I blame the idiot board at the time granting Harry's spending wishes, what were they thinking?

Samilktray Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 Not sure I'd waste even a quid on watching a pre season friendly between Charlton & Portsmouth. Lets not get on our high horses here.
Lamby Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 Bit harsh, especially considering Charlton have had their problems. What happened during those years, how many seasons did you ground share with Palace? **** knows, it was way before my time really. I was 2 when we got back to The Valley so I've no answer to that. Not sure I'd waste even a quid on watching a pre season friendly between Charlton & Portsmouth. Lets not get on our high horses here. It left more money for beer, and we won 3-0, nice day at the beach too.
BoneDog Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 Plenty of clubs with big histories grace the Conference these days. I think it'd be shit-hot for non-league to have Portsmouth in there for a while. Exciting times for many non-league fans! COME ON!
Hugo Sanchez Posted 28 March 2014 Posted 28 March 2014 If any of you were old enough, you'd realise we actually don't like Portsmouth after our play off game at fratton park in 1993. Hitting women and children in Leicester shirt. Honestly hope they go under and end up playing southern league football. Seriously some people on here, learn your blooming history !!!
