Kitchandro Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 So here's the situation: If we win on Tuesday and Friday, we'll be 21 points clear with 6 matches to go. QPR however still have to play on the Saturday. If they don't win on the Saturday we're up. However, even if they do win, they can only equal our points, making us effectively promoted on the Friday night with our superior goal difference. However, we won't be officially promoted on Friday night whatever happens. Right? Or have I got this round my neck? What I'm wondering is, assuming we win both games, how do we celebrate on Friday? Do we act like we've gone up? Will it take the gloss off the celebrations, considering we could officially go up the following day due to other results? It would take a real awkward bugger to suggest it's not essentially in the bag now, I just hope I can take part in promotion party with thousands of City fans, rather than in my own home. Not trying to dampen the mood or anything, we should all be buzzing!
ealingfox Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Everyone meet at the Local Hero for Soccer Saturday on the 5th?

I think we have to celebrate promotion on Friday if we win both games, otherwise we will be promoted on the Saturday when we don't play and everyone will be at home, work or down the pub. I know promotion will not be guaranteed mathematically but we all know we would be up!
Kitchandro Posted 29 March 2014 Author Posted 29 March 2014 Everyone meet at the Local Hero for Soccer Saturday on the 5th? Good idea!
Unabomber Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 I didn't really read this thread but my brain met a few buzz words in :"if we win" "meet" "promoted" "celebrate" "soccer saturday on the 5th" and that sounds good to me.
Fox92 Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 I'd imagine everyone will be buzzing on Friday night if we have won both games. Celebrations could happen? Wigan will be tough, mind. So I'll take it from there.
Danizen Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Celebrate twice. Friday night and Tuesday when (I'm guessing) it will be official.
Stadt Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 If we are promoted when we don't even play it will take the gloss off of it, if us and QPR draw and Burnley lose would that be better?
Matt Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 On the pitch? I was thinking this, on the pitch when we are promoted or when we win the league? I'd say when we win the league, if we do both it'll take the gloss off it, wait till we win the league I reckon.
LCCFox96 Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 6 from 6 in the next two games and promotion is done. Then we have to keep it up and try get the title.
Vlad the Fox Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 We're not going to lose 3-0. Feel free to quote me.Thought I'd just stick this somewhere. I was thinking this, on the pitch when we are promoted or when we win the league? I'd say when we win the league, if we do both it'll take the gloss off it, wait till we win the league I reckon. I'll be storming the gates at KP next Saturday 5pm.Seriously though if we beat Wigan and shef Wednesday then we are up, celebrate Friday for me.

That's what we've been waiting for all this time so that will mean more to me, although I'll get great satisfaction from finishing top too.
Matt Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Winning promotion is more important, surely? That's what we've been waiting for all this time so that will mean more to me, although I'll get great satisfaction from finishing top too. True, fair point.
Larry_LCFC Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Leicester will desperately try and prevent a pitch invasion on the last day. They line the entire pitch with cops 5 mins before the end on every last home match. Fvck knows what the issue is. If we win Tues, Fri and Tues, on the pitch I say! Or just pitch invade every home game from now on even if we lose

Not trying to dampen the mood or anything, we should all be buzzing! Can't celebrate properly Friday, because if goal difference came into it... That would mean they have won every game, and we have lost them all. Potentially removing the goal difference advantage.Lets just hope it's the Tuesday, as it would be a bit annoying to happen whilst sat at home.
lcfcsnow Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 It's all set up to be at home against Brighton, just as it was in 2002/3.
Soar Fox Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 A point away at Wigan, 3 points at home against Sheffield Wednesday and then 3 points against Brighton please. That would fvck sky off, also I'm on a stag do next weekend so I can't make the Friday night game.
Matt Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 TBH the perfect game to go up on (For me) would be QPR, but with that a few weeks away it is surely going to happen before then. Obviously i'm not turning down next Friday or the Tuesday, I'll take it whenever it happens but would love it to be when we play QPR (Which would mean a couple of disappointing weeks really )
maynefox Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Let's just see the result of the Wigan game before we do this.
Benji Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Win both games, get the job done and hope QPR beat Bournemouth.
Kitchandro Posted 29 March 2014 Author Posted 29 March 2014 Let's just see the result of the Wigan game before we do this. Do what?
jonthefox Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Beat Brighton , then its on the pitch and paaartey time.
