heard that John Arne Riise is out of contract. definitely need someone who will compete with Konchesky and won't ask for much money.

Riise is horrific.

Man City have said Scott Sinclair is surplus to requirements. Wonder what his wages would be like. Surely he could be a realistic target for us?

Apparently he's currently on £40k, doubt he'd take a wage cut for us.

Looks like Geoff Cameron wants out of Stoke. Can fill a number of positions and has decent experience. Not sure what sort of contract he's on or what sort of fee he would command though.

Leicester City scouts saw Reading's 1-0 win over Ipswich and Bolton's 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Foxes' head of technical scouting Rob Mackenzie was at the Madejski Stadium as the Royals, who have been chasing City's Dean Hammond, beat Mick McCarthy's side with a goal from Jake Taylor.

Mackenzie told Sky Sports this week that Leicester's scouting department often target players in the final year of their contracts - of which there were a few on show for both sides on Saturday.

Reading defenders Chris Gunter, Alex Pearce and Shaun Cummings are all out of contract next summer while Australian duo Adam Federici and Ryan Edwards also currently fall into that bracket.

Ipswich Town right-back Elliott Hewitt, 20, is another player whose current deal runs out in June 2015, but he came off at half-time with a slight groin strain.

Leicester were also represented at Saturday's Championship match at the Macron Stadium where two goals from new signing Britt Assombalonga ensured Nottingham Forest took a point.

Out of all the names mentioned, I think Pearce would be the best buy. I know he partnered a certain Mr Mills a few seasons back BUT he is a very good centre back, 25 years old. Has all the makings of a very good signing.

Decent shout that

McCleary would be the only Reading player I'd like to see here. Would be good backup for the wings positions and definitely got a lot of potential

More likely to be watching one of Reading's kids. They have some cracking prospects.

Have you ever seen him play?! I lived with a Villa fan the past two years and if there'd have been one player he'd gladly carry to another club it would've been him.

agreed. Everytime I've seen him play he's been awful! Don't rate much at Villa these days! Vlaar is the only player from them that I would take and I doubt we'd get him!

Meh, bit harsh on the likes of Delph, Wiemann, Westwood, Benteke and Guzan, that. They're shit but there's still smatterings of quality in their squad.

Reto Ziegler about to be released from juve I understand. Worth a look?

He'd be a very good signing, only 28, still a very good left back.

Ziegler is a great defender! He has spent time at Spurs, Juventus and Fenerbahce!

He is now a free agent after buying out his contract with Juventus.

It's a long shot, but I think he would be a great signing for Leicester! He would certainly help cover our weak left back position.

Plus, the money saved on a transfer fee can be pumped into his wage demands.

Google says his current wages are 800,000EUR a year

I agree. All five are good, solid Premiership players. Villa may be in a mess, off he field, but still have some quality in their squad.

Christian Fuchs contract runs out this season. LB with a good cross/shot on him, got a wicked free kick too - he's 28 for anyone wondering
