steveherbe Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Brilliant night.Certainly was mate, good to see you and the rest of the lads in the brasshouse in bournemouth. We'll have to do that again when we're chasing a champs league place next seadon.
LCCFox96 Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 We can sit back and enjoy the matches tomorrow now we have our 3 points. I'm not fussed whether it's tomorrow or Tuesday but I want it all done and dusted in the next few days. Then we can focus on the title. On tonight I thought we were sloppy but who gives one. We ground out the result and in our position it doesn't matter how you win games just that you do. Mahrez really shone tonight though and thought Morgan and James were really solid. Exciting times. On to the next one.
Happy Fox Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 A win is a win and one step closer to promotion!, yes we weren't at our fluent best but credit to Wednesday for making it hard for us.
Tielemans63 Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 How shit was the ref by the way? Bloody awful. We were fortunate that he was largely bloody awful in our favour I thought. He got a lot wrong imho.
LCCFox96 Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 And twice in one season Pearson breaks the manager of the month curse. The man has everything, just everything!
lcfcliam Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Anthony Knockaert's free kick https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7DxRVPRq2M The pitch invader too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U19wZ7F-ugo
Unabomber Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 That pitch invader jumps into the stewards like they are long lost family, poor effort.
BoyJones Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Thought we edged it overall, not very fluid, but the players are human and must have been nervous, knowing they were so close to promotion - still had enough to take the points without two many scares except the save right at the death. We should have been one up at half time, but let in a sloppy goal, then after AK scored they went route one big time. So many hail Mary's came in I thought they must all be RC's. The only way they looked like scoring was if the ball dropped kindly for them in the box. We were edgy but clearly deserved the win, fully expect an inspired performance on Tuesday now we are up.
steveherbe Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Attendance? Havent seen a figure and cant be arsed to look.
PAULCFC Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Was it a prem ref tonite?....if it was that would explaine everything
PAULCFC Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Attendance? Havent seen a figure and cant be arsed to look. 26000 odd
PAULCFC Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 That pitch invader jumps into the stewards like they are long lost family, poor effort. need to do better tuesday!
Unabomber Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 need to do better tuesday! He's been banned for life bro. We need all ends to get on there and not pussy out when the old bill gets wise.
Tuna Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Love the way Knocky slides on his knees right in front of Stuart Gray, and he just stands there!
Kitchandro Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Not a great atmosphere or match, so I'm really hoping QPR or Derby win so we can get promoted ourselves. There really didn't seem to be a buzz around the stadium which is disappointing. But if we have a match where we know we'll go up if we win, you'd hope it would be better. Got tickets in SK1 again but hoping to move. It's been taking over by pre pubescents half heartedly singing 'Milan is a Leicester fan', 'We are Premier League' and the Mahrez/Knockaert chant that makes no sense (and the arm actions, really???). It doesn't look good for next season.

Leicesterpool Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 It wasn't one of the greatest of matches i've seen at the KP! without the goals it would have been a dull game. But who cares we won and by tomorrow tea time leicester could be a premier league team, if not then, then surely Tuesday night. On the performance I would say Sheffield Wednesday were setup alot like Yeovil, they'd came to frustrate Leicester and get something out of the game. The only time I think Sheffield Wednesday were interested in attacking was when they went a goal down. All I can say there was limited chances either end and most of them went in! Anyway I'm not being negative, unbeaten in 21! and possible promotion party to tomorrow. There was a few changes from Tuesday but the ones that were given a rest on Tuesday who played tonight still looked quite tired.
copunk Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Anybody else see Deano absolutely smash one of their players in the face in the goalmouth scramble haha me and my mate pointed out the same thing, proper last ditch all or nothing attempt for the ball and got nowhere near it

It doesn't look good for next season. Lack of buzz? If it was down to a tense finale, I'd understand your criticism. But we're flying high this year and leaving almost all other teams way behind us. "Buzz" has appeared occasionally throughout the season in increments - mostly away from home, though. The "buzz" you're craving might return tomorrow after 5pm wherever the LCFC fans are at that point, listening to the radio or checking the scores online, should we have secured promotion. And next Tuesday may see some official celebration, as well. I bet the club are also keeping a close eye on the Saturday scores and then have another 48 hours to prepare something special (a small celebration before the big one for the ultimate game at home against Doncaster). And what are you complaining about the younger fans - you can't just have old farts coming in, can you? It's all in the mix. I don't get it. We're on the brink of promotion and people ought to be happy about it. What in God's name can you seriously criticize about this season on the whole? That Singha beer has not been constantly available at all home games? That the toilet paper is not soft enough? Pork pies that are too cold? Seriously, what kind of luxury problems do we really need to simply enjoy ourselves? Take a look at the table. Note the gap to 2nd and 3rd place. Then look at where Forest are. Smile. And be grateful that you're one of many content fans who are witnessing an event that last occurred about ten years ago. This is special. Cherish it. You never know when we'll be able to claim promotion back to the Premier League again.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 The best part about our game being on a Saturday morning and us winning is now I can get on the frothies all day and celebrate
Dan Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 Nowhere near at our best but two bits of real quality have done it once again. We're all but there now and it still hasn't sunk in.
Thracian Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 Apart from the first 20 minutes, we looked jaded, which is quite understandable given our small squad and the big tests we've faced over the last week or so. Early on our fast passing stretched and sliced through Wednesday's rearguard to such effect that we might have had four goals to Wednesday's one or two. Thereafter we found it increasingly difficult to either retain or pressure the ball until finally we fell into our old habit of sitting back completely for the last section of the game and relying on what was sometimes desperate defence to prevent an equaliser. The sloppiness of our defending for their goal only heralded what too often followed. DeLaet was never tight enough in the first place, neither of our central defenders got close enough to prevent him being run at and Antonio was given the luxury of a free shot in the box irrespective of Schmeichel's failing to keep it out. Thereafter Wednesday's main threat was down the right where DeLaet seemed to get beaten at will. But he wasn't helped by some truly woeful passing - even from unpressured situations - which can surely only have been caused by growing fatigue and a lack of the energy necessary to make and maintain attacks. The exception was Knockaert who never stopped giving everything he could muster and how fitting he should be rewarded with the winning goal from an inch-perfect free kick which was never going anywhere but into the top corner of the net. Yes, Knockaert made mistakes, but how determinedly he tried to rectify them. Too often though we squandered possession quite unnecessarily by doing the one thing you should never do when tiring - which is to take too many touches and condemn yourself to even more work and the prospect of being caught in possession - and the resulting extra work for everyone. Even two touches was a touch too many on countless occasions tonight and even when passes were delivered they were too often wrongly-weighted, misguided or simply badly chosen. Vardy was so badly missed because it is he, more than anyone who makes the selfless runs that create spaces and offer the chance of a telling pass whatever the situation. Tonight, those passes were available early on but later there were few willing or able to drive themselves forward and this invited increasing Wednesday pressure. No matter. To come through three such challenging games with seven points and no defeats plainly reflects the dogged determination of our team even when running low on fuel and ideas. They do dig in, they do continue to make last ditch tackles and they do show the attitude necessary to grind out results in adversity. Twenty-one games unbeaten - and 76 league goals among a record that's included 27 wins - is a splendid achievement by any standards and to celebrate promotion will be richly deserved. But, my life, we still have some serious flaws to keep working on. Individually and collectively.
Socks Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 Can everyone stop moaning about the performance! We cant play 3-0 blinders every game! We grinded out the result and we won! And i agree with Nige we were the better team at the end of the day We're going up!
